This is one of 10 tasks to be completed in order to attain the Blessed Celestine Faycite augmentation.
This is the second task in a series of five and starts with Grom of Camp Valor in the Hills of Shade. It follows the previous task, 'Undead Slayers', at the end of which you saw: Grom cracks a faint smile, 'You've done good by us, _____, which is more than most. Which is why I've [another favor] to ask of you'. You say, 'Another favor?' Grom says 'I'll be bettin' you've run across some strange mushroom looking creatures in some of the crypts 'round here. 'Dark Sporali' is what I've heard them been called. Ferocious buggers, they are. What's got me [interested] ya see, is that nary a zombie has been seen within five hundred feet of 'em. Me gut tells me that this is not by chance. There must be a connection between the lack of undead and the mushroom beasts.' You say, 'I am interested' Grom says 'I knew you would be, lad. What I need is some evidence linking the two. Come back when you've found something.' You have been assigned the task 'A Mysterious Bond'. As you reach the bottom of the crypt you see partially digested bodies covered in spores. It seems obvious that these Dark Sporali are feeding on the undead.
