This is the final task in a quest arc for a +25 Purity augmentation. It begins with Dwinn Axeheaver who can be found in the Loping Plains in the Fang Breakers camp near the zone-in from the Steamfont Mountains at -1407, -3264.
Upon completion of the previous task: Dwinn Axeheaver stares intently at the crystal for several moments. 'This crystal is overflowing with terror and grief. You can feel the cries of souls trapped within it. The souls captured within these crystals must be what is boosting the power of these orcs spells. This cannot be tolerated. We must find the leader of these orcs and put a stop to this practice. Perhaps we can use this crystal as a [lure] for one of the higher ranking orcs. You say, 'How can we lure him?' Dwinn Axeheaver says 'Near the entrance to the orcish stronghold is what was once an elven circle of some power. Given the behavior of the orcs so far I suspect they are using this circle in their rituals. Take the crystal and place it in the circle. See if it brings out any of the higher ranking orcs.' Place the humming black crystal in the center of the ruins The ruins are near Bloodmoon Keep. Click the humming black crystal at /loc -1932, +403, +196. His rise to power came when he foretold the darkening of the sun. The day the sun finally did darken, The Prophet believed it was proof of his divine power so he took a good number of his newly gained followers and attempted to overthrow Emperor Crush. Unfortunately for The Prophet, Crush's forces were greater in number and some of his own followers turned on him when faced with the mighty Emperor. The Prophet's insurrection was quickly driven from Crushbone Keep, forced to wander the wilds of the Faydark.' a freed spirit says 'It wasn't long before the Prophet's orcs become desperate for food. They hunted small game in the Steamfont Mountains until they came upon an encampment tucked away in a wooded alcove. In it they found three large cloaked figures screaming and writhing in pain under a full moon. All the orcs were blinded by the strong smell of fresh and plentiful meat and ravenously attacked with no idea what manner of creature they were about to eat.' a freed spirit says 'Once under attack, the howling figures fought back as best they could, biting and scratching any exposed orc flesh they could find in the dark, but they were quickly overcome. Almost every orc suffered a minor injury, several received mortal ones. Even The Prophet was bitten by the mad creatures.' a freed spirit says 'In a rush to fill their bellies, the orcs ignored their wounds and feasted on the corpses before them with reckless abandon, finding bristly fur was getting stuck between their fangs. The orcs felt unusually rejuvenated after their great meal and together tended to their weeping wounds with bandages and resolved to find a proper home for their new clan.' a freed spirit says 'The next several weeks passed without too much incident, but many orcs had noticed small changes in themselves, better hearing and sense of smell, but attributed it only to the powers of The Prophet. Then the orcs found themselves in the Loping Plains when the first full moon since they'd feasted on those howling beasts appeared.' a freed spirit says 'When the moon reached its apex in the sky, each orc began a rapid change. Something was very wrong and it was The Prophet who first howled into the night knowing what had come of them all. In only moments, the entire clan was overtaken by lycanthropy and transformed into wereorcs. Most orcs descended into complete savagery during their transformation, but some, the ones who were fully bitten that fateful night, retained their sense and intelligence, including the Prophet.' a freed spirit says 'It was then clear that those writhing, howling beasts they feasted on weeks ago were werewolves. More accurately, they were Shadowmanes from Darkhollow. Normally a bite is needed to spread the full curse of lycanthropy, but the interruption of the normal lunar and solar cycles due to the war in the Plane of Sun corrupted the curse of lycanthropy and caused all of the orcs who had eaten the flesh of the werewolves to be afflicted in some way as well.' a freed spirit says 'It was also found that those who were bitten could telepathically communicate and control the orcs afflicted by the flesh-bound curse. Through this hierarchy of happenstance, The Prophet found he and the others who were bitten were able to maintain a semblance of order in their clan.' a freed spirit says 'After that night, The Prophet reassured the wereorcs that they will remain and grow as a family and declared them a clan to be known as the Bloodmoon Tribe. Scouts were sent out into the night to find a suitable and worthy living space for this new family. They returned claiming that a long abandoned elven Tunarian temple in the mountains would suit them well.' a freed spirit says 'The Bloodmoon Tribe migrated to southern Loping Plains to find the abandoned Faygannen Temple of Vines. As you can see, the temple had been discovered and decimated by Mayong's vampires and minions in years past. Only the spirits remained to watch over the once glorious place.' a freed spirit says 'From that day, the Bloodmoon Tribe has made the old temple their own, raising banners and ramparts suitable for their needs. The Prophet has taken upon himself to ensure the growth of the Bloodmoon Tribe by inducting more orcs into their family on a grim altar.' a freed spirit says 'To guarantee their power, The Prophet with the help of his alchemists has found the black faycite magic crystals do well to fortify the undead and amplify many of the affects of lycanthropy that make his tribe so terrifying. This is desirable to them as, unlike most werewolves, the wereorcs need to eat souls to survive, another mutation of their lycanthropic curse.' a freed spirit says 'Your help in this has aided in stemming the tide of souls these wereorcs can harvest. Thank you for helping my people. Would that we were still alive to join your efforts. I must depart now, but remember our plight and destroy the wereorcs at every turn!' Return to Dwinn Axeheaver and inform him of your success You say, 'Hail, Dwinn Axeheaver' Your task 'It Ends Now' has been updated. Dwinn Axeheaver says 'Well done _____! I'll be using you as an example for all the others that come to talk with me about these orcs.
