This is an event in the raid expedition into Meldrath's Majestic Mansion.

Breakneck, Master at Arms: Remember Demiplane? This is basically Zi-Thuuli and Hatchet the Torturer combined into one event.

Breakneck's Spawning Mechanism:

You'll have to spawn Breakneck a total of five times.

For the first four spawns, your raid doesn't need to actually fight him. However, he must be kept occupied at all times (on at least one person's aggro) otherwise the event will completely reset. It is recommended he be spawned away from your raid and that only a handful of people deal with his emotes while the rest of the raid kills adds.

He is spawned by clicking on doors in the zone. Which door triggers him is random. It doesn't change, so if you test a door and it doesn't spawn him, rest assured it will not spawn him at that location with subsequent clicks. If the event resets (you spawn Breakneck, then lose his aggro), his spawn trigger gets assigned to another random door.

He can spawn from any door: You might get him four times in a row on the main floor, or you could get him spawning on multiple floors. It may be entirely random.

Only players can trigger a spawn. Pets, Eyes of Zomm, Monk projections, and regular NPCs will not.

Each time a spawn is triggered, a wave of adds spawns on top of the raid (more on this below). After you've killed his fourth wave of adds, he spawns a final time in the room just north of the east elevator on this map. At that point, he is killable.

Fight Info and Duck Emote:

Breakneck hits for a max ~13,000 (not taking shielding % into account); AE rampages (mitigated to ~2,000); single-target rampages; and enrages.

He has two stances, one of which leaves him perma-rooted; the other, moveable:

Breakneck, Master at Arms adopts a stationary stance again.

Breakneck, Master at Arms changes his stance. He is no longer stationary.

He also has two emote-based spells, the first of which is "Crushing Mallet":

If you get the emote...

Breakneck hoists an arm back, preparing to lob a weighted mallet in your direction.

...duck, until you see...

Breakneck's mallet passes harmlessly overhead.

...and you will avoid the DT:

Crushing Mallet: Single Target, Magic (-1000)
1: Feign Death
2: Decrease Hitpoints by 50000

Charge / AE DT Emote:

Every 3 minutes (or thereabouts), Breakneck will pick out a random person to charge at:

Breakneck, Master at Arms levels his horns at _____ and prepares to charge! (general emote seen by people in normal range)

Breakneck locks eyes with you and snorts, while stomping at the metallic tiles with his hooves. He's about to charge directly at you! (emote seen only by his target)

He will charge his target. If he catches them, he will AE "Minotaur Gore":

Breakneck, Master at Arms slams into his target, goring them with his massive horns!

Minotaur Gore: PB AE 40', Magic (-1000)
1: Feign Death
2: Decrease Hitpoints by 50000

...killing everyone within 40' range.

If his target manages to evade him, you'll see...

Breakneck, Master at Arms pauses to catch his breath.

...And no AE will go off. He'll start fighting again (aggro resets with each charge).

The Adds

Each time Breakneck is spawned, a wave of adds spawns on top of the raid. Upon killing the adds, Breakneck despawns, emoting that he'll be back (Breakneck's fifth spawn differs - more on that below).

All adds in the event hit for a max ~5,000; have zonewide aggro (they will warp to you); and cast the spell "Blindside":

Blindside: Single Target, Unresistable (0)
1: Blindness(1)
2: Stun(4.00 sec)

Breakneck Spawn #1 / Add Wave #1:

2x "a goregouger elite"
2x "a goregouger trooper"
+1 more "a goregouger elite" every two minutes the wave is active

After the adds die:

Breakneck shouts, 'Don't think you've seen the last of me, pests. We'll bump into each other again and I'll bring reinforcements!'

Breakneck Spawn #2 / Add Wave #2:

2x "a goregouger elite"
3x "a goregouger trooper"
+1 more "a goregouger elite" every two minutes the wave is active

After the adds die:

Breakneck shouts, 'Don't think you've seen the last of me, pests. We'll bump into each other again and I'll bring reinforcements!'

Breakneck Spawn #3 / Add Wave #3:

3x "a goregouger elite"
3x "a goregouger trooper"
+1 more "a goregouger elite" every two minutes the wave is active

After the adds die:

Breakneck shouts, 'Don't think you've seen the last of me, pests. We'll bump into each other again and I'll bring reinforcements!'

Breakneck Spawn #4 / Add Wave #4:

3x "a goregouger elite"
4x "a goregouger trooper"
+1 more "a goregouger elite" every two minutes the wave is active

After the adds die:

Breakneck shouts, 'Hrmph. Running out of reinforcements. I'd best warn Master Meldrath.'

Two more goregouger elites spawn on top of the raid, and Breakneck spawns (for the final time) in the room just north of the east elevator on this map. As you did throughout the other spawns, keep him aggro'd. Otherwise you chance him despawning and resetting the entire event. You'll need kiting room so the recommended fight spot is the room east of his spawn point.

Breakneck Spawn #5 - The Final Fight:

Breakneck, Master at Arms snorts, 'This won't hurt . . . Much.'

Every 10% of Breakneck's health from 100% and down, two "a goregouger elite" spawn. In addition to them, you'll get 2-3 "a goregouger trooper" spawning individually throughout the fight.

Basically, take Breakneck down 10%, kill adds, take him down another 10%, kill adds, etc., all the while paying attention to duck and charge emotes.

Breakneck, Master at Arms has been slain by _____!
Breakneck, Master at Arms's corpse utters a throaty, guttural growl as he is cut down.

A chest with loot spawns at Breakneck's final spawnpoint. Loot includes 2 runes (first list) + 2 Gyro Cores (slot: FEET) + 2 items (second list) + 0-1 Gyroscopic Combat Assistant Mk. I + 0-1 Prismatic Faycite

Glowing Prismatic Rune
Whirring Clockwork Rune

Alloy-Coated Back Protector
Cruel Mechanic's Shawl
Sharpened Steamworker's Screwdriver
Steam-Valve Girdle
Steamgineer's Trinket of Station

Tried it with a bunch of 12 people today. We forgot to get a Mage up to the last floor. But we made it with the illusion trick:

- make all usual raid targets
- while opening doors to get to them, the Minotaur will appear
- only attack his adds to not get some nasty nukes
- after the 4th time he is on track at the top floor

Trick:
- get up via small elevators
- Illusion on pc and go through door (either at cast or when you drop it)
- do it till you reach the elevator room (you need about 3 doors till you reach the elevator door)
- after clicking the door it needs some time but the elevator will work again
- prepare for the fight
- enter the room and start the fight

If you have real good fire power:
- don't care about adds, no need to kill them to get him down
- burn him down in 3min to avoid the DTs

I think they fixed the thing with using illusions to get through locked doors. Better bring a mage.

We finally did have to do a door on the same floor as he spawns on to get the 4th wave. Only happened once out of many kills. Found that SKs and Necros make the best team for the doors vice monks and bards. Since when SKs and Necros FD they dont loose aggro right away you can FD wait for any adds that pop on the door team to warp up to the raid then stand and keep going. Since we started doing this we have not lost a wave. Had a few finish with 1 person alive in door team due to emotes and stuns and blinds and other crap. So pop him hit aggro, FD, check for adds on the door team if there let them warp to the raid then stand and go on.

He can spawn from any door. Had him spawn from 4 doors on the main floor, also had him spawn from doors on multiple floors.
more fun

One more bit of fun. I had seen it and forgot. When you finish the 4th wave and he pops to his final location all the elevators that will get you to him lock. So you must have moved the raid up to the room next to where he pops before engaging the 4th wave. This also means you must have a mage to COTH the door team.

Basement, 1st and 2nd floors seem to be where the doors are that pop him. We have never had to do a 3rd floor door to get him. We have a team of bards, SKs and Monks run around and do the doors then keep him on aggro while the raid kills the wave. Then COTH that group to the raid since there is no way for them to get to the third floor while he is up.

Very painful when the random Elite mob pops on the door team instead of up at the raid. Its almost impossible to pull a 4K hitting mob into the elevator and live to get to third floor. If the door team can get on aggro for breakneck without getting on the goregougers aggro it will usually warp to the raid. But have lost this event twice due to mob popping with breakneck and killing all those on aggro. Splitting the raid to have enough near breakneck to kill any adds just makes it harder to get the raid back together on the third floor.

Not sure if they changed this or if we just got lucky but during the final fight goregouger troopers spawned 1 at a time not 2-3 as listed. Also the spawn time on them was far enough apart that we only had 3 maybe 4 during the entire fight. We went ahead and killed them to keep things easier on the chanters but could have just kept them mezzed the entire fight.

Also note need as many people to get on his hate list as possible after each charge. If there are only a few on aggro they get all the duck emotes which leads to tanks being perma ducked. If you get 3 duck emotes you need to wait for 3 miss emotes before unducking or you die.

I must say having just gotten into MMM and starting to learn all these events this one was designed by somebody that really wanted to waste peoples time and destroy raids. Last trip we rapidly got 3 waves done. We then had the entire raid sitting in a room waiting for the pullers to go back and find and retry every door in the zone to find the one door they missed that happened to be the trigger door for wave 4. Of course as we were killing the last of the 4th wave the last of the pull team got killed so that we lost aggro on breakneck and the event reset. At that point the raid began to fall apart as nobody wanted to sit around for another hour waiting for every single door to be tried again. At a minimum they should change this so that the doors that trigger him stay the same, so the team just needs to note the doors they need to go back and reclick.

Some info

Quote:
He spawns a total of (how many?) times, each triggered randomly by clicking on doors within the zone (localized to specific areas based on which spawn number you're on).

He spawns every time you click a door, along with a wave. The goal is to win 4 consecutive waves, while keeping him aggroed. So you will continue to spawn until you have won 4 consecutive waves. Each wave is a mix of goregouger troopers and elites, I'm not sure if the mix is a fixed amount or random; however elites are not mezzable. On successful completion of a wave, you get a red zonewide shout: Breakneck shouts, 'Don't think you've seen the last of me, pests. We'll bump into each other again, and I'll bring re-inforcements.'

Also drops....
