Reducing the Threat - Worgs

Tyrinam can be found at Loc -2590 +1158 in the Loping Plains. This is at Firstlight Alcove (close to the dock).
You say, 'Hail, Tyrinam' Tyrinam says 'Greetings traveler, my name is Tyrinam and this is Firstlight Alcove. We are the survivors and descendants from The Curse that came from Hills of Shade. You may make yourself comfortable or help us out with some [issues] that we could use some help with.' You say, 'What issues?' Tyrinam says 'Yes. As you can see we have only recently settled down here and made Firstlight our home. We have still many dangers including the [wereorcs], [goblins], and [worgs]. If you would help decrease their numbers I'm sure we could find some form of payment for you.' You say, 'worgs?' You have been assigned the task 'Reducing the Threat - Worgs'. Tyrinam says 'The worgs have preyed on our food supply for far too long. We must cull their numbers or else we may not have enough food to hunt in this area for ourselves. We implore you to hunt them as they hunt us and end their reign here as king of the hunters.' Tyrinam has a personal fear of the massive worgs that stalk the plains. He has asked you to reduce their population for his sake and for the safety of everyone in the area. Kill 20 worgs 0/20 (Loping Plains) Speak with Tyrinam 0/1 (Loping Plains) You say, 'Hail, Tyrinam' Your task 'Reducing the Threat - Worgs' has been updated. Tyrinam says, "You have done well. We are proud once again and will not hesitate to ask of your assistance in the future should the need arise. Did you max ally the faction on that last kill?
My understanding is there is no example of a variable faction event/kill in EQ. As in the faction number you get is a constant value. It only shows different if you can't take the full amount of the hit because you max it out. This is more obvious when doing one of the +500 or more NPC when you only get a +11 hit.
Unmodified faction hit is +40
Did the quest again a few hours later, I got 40 faction again, and I think I'm far from maxed. Since the quest is repeatable with no delay, it's possible there's less faction rewarded if the task is repeated fast enough.
My level 65's could not get this task,just fyi.
was cleaning up my quest list, noticed i was 16/20 worgs. hit the last 4, did the hail, got 22 percent at level 85 .

how many times do i have to do this to get ally? killing worgs and wereorcs i mean?

This task is no longer updated when killing the "A Tiny Worg" from the Fenden special delivery task. after the 9/3/2008 patch

hey guys if u drop the task before doing the final hail in the special delivery task you can get the quest again... to rinse/repeat faction
For quick faction:
First, get the task: A special favor - special delivery, from Fenden Helter, in dragonscale hills. This super easy quest, that anyone can solo, involves insta killing tiny worgs with a clicky the quest giver gives you. But the cool trick is, tiny worgs count toward the Reducing the threat quest!
Best if you do this with multiple people in your group. each getting this task. Then get the Reducing the threat - worgs task, for each member in your group.
Next, as you run to the 3 points in the Special delivery task, and kill the tiny worgs, your "reducing the threat" task will ALSO update! Very fast way to finish the Reducing the threat quest, at the same time as getting some xp and faycetum. I think you get about 12 to 15 worgs dead finishing the Special deliver quest, and each person in your group who kills tiny wargs will update the Reducing the quest task for each member of your group! So a group of 3 will get about 35 to 45 updates ( need to get the reducing the threat quest twice ).
One down side: lockout timer for the special delivery quest. about 17 hours.

I forgot even if you choose the experience option you receive a positive faction hit with fang breakers
I think people get confused on how the Select an option works. Your options are on the left of the screen... everything that shows up on the right is the reward for that which you selected on the left. Even though you can highlight different things on the right, all of those are results of that which you selected on the left. So for an example:
Option 1 ------- Faction. Experience
You can highlight both faction and experience, but you actually get both because they are listed under option 1. BUT if it was:
Option 1 -------- Faction. Experience
Option 2 -------- Experience. 75pp
Option 3 -------- Faction. 75pp
Then you would choose... by choosing option 1 you will get both exp and faction, if you choose option 2 you will still get experience, but instead of faction you get 75pp, and if you choose option 3, you will get your faction, but instead of bonus experience you get 75pp. Now, these options aren't related to this quest, but are an example of how the select a reward works. Things on the right are everything you get, things on the left are decisions for you to make.

I have done this quest several times now, the rewards have been either faction or experience. I take the experience option and am rewarded with about 25-50% AA at level 80, sorry forget exactly how much, but it is alwasys the same. Done recall a Skin option. Its a great way to exp for AAs and then get a punch with the completiong of this quest. You can repeat and also do Wereorcs quest at the same time. The quest is repeatable also.
You get both faction and experience, next update you do... read the emotes and you will see.

Kire, I started doing this quest at 71.
I noticed this asy lvl 75, but I sure hope it isn't the min lvl to get this task. I tried today with my 69 monk along, and couldn't get it :(
