This raid task begins with the drake Falrazim in the cave in the extreme northwest of Dragonscale Hills.

There are no pre-requisites for requesting this raid (other than the need to have at least six people in your group or raid).

You say, 'Hail, Falrazim'

Falrazim squeals uncomfortably, his voice not well accommodated in a drake's throat. 'Well, I'll be?! It's been some time since I've seen a mucky-muck like you, then. Quite brazen of you to enter here, actually. I'm considered a most [fearsome] character in these parts.'

You say, 'Fearsome?'

Falrazim says 'Indeed. The legend is fact, mucky-muck. I, the prestigious and most-thought after gnome . . . the GREAT Falrazim . . . was tho well-educated in the ways of magic that I was able to transform mythelf into a drake so that I could use dragon magic of all kinds! There was one tiny, teeny, minithcule, barely noticeable [problem] with this feat.'

You say, 'What problem?'

Falrazim says 'In becoming a drake, thith thilly therpent tongue doesn't allow me to perform my incantations properly! This rendered the whole purpoth of the tranthformation moot! There is only one who can remove this terrible curthe. Meldrath, the not-so-kind one, as it turns out. In exchange for my services, he promised to cure me and it has been decades I have tried to please him enough to help me. I'm at my wits end with this pandering and I have a [plan] to convince him to help me once and for all.'

You say, 'Plan?'

Falrazim says 'Yeth, I have done a favor for a very old friend...one who needed protection from the Tinkerers' Bureau of Investigation. You may have heard of him? His name is Tinmizer...the oldest and greatest innovator of gnomekind. In fact, he and I are alive today because of his Everwindinregennin Stasis Compartment. Somehow he's managed the perfect combination of magic and machine to lengthen our lives! Even better, he has [Big Bynn] with him.'

You say, 'Who is Big Bynn?'

Falrazim says 'Yep, the great clockwork dragon! Can you imagine a greater beast to threaten Meldrath? No!! We've been itching to find some fools to test some of Big Bynn's modifications, but we have not been able to find any who are [powerful] enough.'

You say, 'I am powerful enough.'

Falrazim says 'You think you have what it takes? Ha! Fine by me! The cave could use a bit more fertilizer for my Garbagebegonner Thqueezit Thoilsiever XXII. I get the mostht wonderful flowerth.... Anyhow, when you've got enough friendsth along that won't be an insult to old Tinmizer, I'll let you enter the back of the cave. I won't wish you luck...that would be thilly of me!'

You have been assigned the task 'Big Bynn's Return'.

Kill Big Bynn 0/1 (Tinmizer's Wunderwerks)

Behind Falrazim is a steel door which is used to enter the zone, Tinmizer's Wunderwerks. The event is triggered through dialogue, so you can position people ahead of time.

You say, 'Hail, Tinmizer'

Tinmizer says 'Falrazim actually found some folks stup . . . er . . . brave enough to test my genius in the form of my clockwork dragon?! What luck that I am fully prepared for this day! Take your time and strike when you're ready to [begin]!'

You say, 'We are ready to begin'

Tinmizer says 'It's your hide! I'm gonna take 'im to the limit!'

Big Bynn I's clockwork cogs, springs, and wheels whir with life!

Big Bynn I

Big Bynn I attacks. It hits for a max of ~10,000, does NOT rampage or flurry, but does enrage. These melee abilities do not change, and he stays active throughout the encounter up until when he reaches 10% health.

Note that throughout the event, random groups will be ported into Big Bynn's stomach. Inside, the group has to kill six digested crystals in order to get ported back out. Also, they will have to contend with "a gutscrubber" adds and a DoT aura:

Powergut Acid
1: Decrease HP when cast by 1500
2: Decrease Hitpoints by 1500 per tick

As well as:

Powergut Shockwave
1: Decrease HP when cast by 2000
2: Decrease Hitpoints by 2000 per tick
3: Decrease Mana by 300 per tick
4: Decrease Stats by 100
5: Decrease Movement by 80%
6: Improved Spell Effect(Powergut Shockwave Recourse)

Which leads to a DT if not ported out before it runs its course:

Powergut Shockwave Recourse
1: Decrease Hitpoints by 90000

This fight can be broken down into stages.

Stage 1 (100% - 90%)

Drop Big Bynn from 100% to about 90%. Nothing special here.

Stage 2 (90% - 75%)

At about 90%:

Tinmizer says, 'Clearly some tuning is needed here. I'm going to feed him power crystals. Drop the blazing faycites! It's SUPPER TIME! Don't be fussy my friend!'

Big Bynn eyes the crystals ravenously, but is distracted and takes his time.

Five crystals called "Blazing Faycite" spawn around Big Bynn I (in front of the Crystal-o-Matic steamworks). Kill these crystals as soon as possible. A short time after they appear, Big Bynn will attempt to eat them. You will see one of the following:

Each crystal Big Bynn consumes makes his eyes grow brighter.
Big Bynn looks disappointed at the lack of crystals to consume.

Each crystal Big Bynn consumes makes his eyes grow brighter.
Big Bynn consumed X crystals. (Where X is the number of crystals remaining.)

The more crystals he consumes, the more health he will gain back (prolonging this stage) and the more frequently he will cast his AE for this stage:

Blaze of Glory: PB AE 1000', Fire (-1000)
1: Decrease Hitpoints by 12000

Once Big Bynn reaches 75%, the AEs stop and Stage 3 begins.

Stage 3 (75% - 62%)

Tinmizer says, 'No! No! No! No! This simply won't do. Let's amp things up a bit shall we? Let's try these tasty shivercite crystals on for size!'

Big Bynn hungrily eyes the crystals as he defends himself.

Five crystals called "Shivercite" spawn around Big Bynn I. Kill these crystals as soon as possible. A short time after they appear, Big Bynn will attempt to eat them. You will see one of the following:

Big Bynn's eyes flash with greater icy fury with each crystal he consumes!
Big Bynn looks disappointed at the lack of crystals to consume.

Big Bynn's eyes flash with greater icy fury with each crystal he consumes!
Big Bynn consumed X crystals. (Where X is the number of crystals remaining.)

The more crystals he consumes, the more health he will gain back (prolonging this stage) and the more frequently he will cast his AE for this stage:

Shiverspine: PB AE 1000', Cold (-1000)
1: Decrease Spell Haste by 50%
2: Limit: Effect(Hitpoints allowed)
3: Decrease Chance to Hit by 50% with 1H Blunt
4: Decrease Movement by 90%
5: Decrease HP when cast by 6000
6: Decrease Hitpoints by 6000 per tick

Once Big Bynn reaches 62%, the AEs stop and Stage 4 begins.

Stage 4 (62% - 50%)

Tinmizer says, 'What in the . . . You people should be utterly destroyed by now. Come on Bynn! Eat these up! Skynate, skynate is good for your heart, the more you eat them, the more you . . . fight!'

Big Bynn is hungry for more power, but turns his eyes to Tinmizer for a moment.

Five crystals called "Skynate" spawn around Big Bynn I. Kill these crystals as soon as possible. A short time after they appear, Big Bynn will attempt to eat them. You will see one of the following:

Big Bynn's eyes take on a cloudy sheen as he eats the crystals!
Big Bynn looks disappointed at the lack of crystals to consume.

Big Bynn's eyes take on a cloudy sheen as he eats the crystals!
Big Bynn consumed X crystals. (Where X is the number of crystals remaining.)

The more crystals he consumes, the more health he will gain back (prolonging this stage) and the more frequently he will cast his AE for this stage:

Skyslam: Directional 0', Magic (-1000)
1: Decrease Hitpoints by 4500
2: Decrease Mana by 4500
3: Decrease Endurance by 1000
4: Stun(5.00 sec)

Once Big Bynn reaches 50%, the AEs stop and Stage 5 begins.

Stage 5 (50% - 39%)

Tinmizer says, 'Doing better Bynn, I think they're feeling your power now! Let's fine-tune you a bit with some feralcore crystals! Gobbledy-gobbledy!'

Big Bynn's eyes flash with a maniacal mechanical madness as he eyes the room, fixing his gaze on Tinmizer.

Five crystals called "Feralcore Faycite" spawn around Big Bynn I. Kill these crystals as soon as possible. A short time after they appear, Big Bynn will attempt to eat them. You will see one of the following:

Big Bynn's glowing core burns brighter with each crystal he eats.
Big Bynn looks disappointed at the lack of crystals to consume.

Big Bynn's glowing core burns brighter with each crystal he eats.
Big Bynn consumed X crystals. (Where X is the number of crystals remaining.)

The more crystals he consumes, the more health he will gain back (prolonging this stage) and the more frequently he will cast his AE for this stage:

Frenzied Breath: PB AE 1000', Disease (-1000)
1: Decrease HP when cast by 6400
2: Decrease Hitpoints by 6400 per tick
3: Decrease Chance to Hit by 80% with 1H Blunt

Once Big Bynn reaches 39%, the AEs stop and Stage 6 begins.

Stage 6 (39% - 10%)

How about a touch of a tummy ache with some foulvein faycite? I bet that will get your cogs in overdrive!

Big Bynn looks around the room as though he's confused.

Five crystals called "Foulvein Faycite" spawn around Big Bynn I. Kill these crystals as soon as possible. A short time after they appear, Big Bynn will attempt to eat them. You will see one of the following:

Big Bynn eats all the crystals and suddenly opens his maw and sweeps up Tinmizer and swallows him! The clockwork dragon convulses . . .
Big Bynn looks disappointed at the lack of crystals to consume.

Big Bynn eats all the crystals and suddenly opens his maw and sweeps up Tinmizer and swallows him! The clockwork dragon convulses . . .
Big Bynn consumed X crystals. (Where X is the number of crystals remaining.)

The more crystals he consumes, the more health he will gain back (prolonging this stage) and the more frequently he will cast his AE for this stage:

Fetid Stench: PB AE 600', Disease (-415)
1: Decrease HP when cast by 6500
2: Decrease Hitpoints by 3250 per tick
3: Decrease Mana by 1200 per tick
4: Decrease Endurance by 300 per tick
5: Decrease Melee Mitigation by 15%
6: Decrease Stats by 100
7: Increase Disease Counter by 9
8: Increase Disease Counter by 9
9: Increase Disease Counter by 9
10: Increase Disease Counter by 9
11: Increase Disease Counter by 9

Since Big Bynn just ate Tinmizer, you no longer have to deal with crystals at this point. Big Bynn, however, will fire off some one-time spells (they may be recast if this portion of the fight takes too long):

When Sparks Fly: PB AE 1000', Magic (-1000)
1: Decrease HP when cast by 3000
2: Decrease Hitpoints by 3000 per tick
3: Decrease Mana by 3000 per tick
4: Silence
5: Root
6: Increase Chance to Hit by 80% with 1H Blunt

Fizzle: PB AE 1000', Unresistable (0)
1: Decrease Hitpoints by 4200
2: Decrease Mana by 1000
3: Decrease Endurance by 1000
4: Stun(3.00 sec)

Beat him down to 10% at which point the final stage begins.

Stage 7 (10% - 0%)

Big Bynn spits out Tinmizer!

Tinmizer says, 'Ew! I think my skin is rotting! Foul bucket of bolts! Kill that rusty BEAST before he eats us all!

Big Bynn casts the spell Crystal Fever, then goes inactive.

Crystal Fever: PB AE 1000', Magic (-1000)
1: Decrease Spell Mana Cost by 10%
2: Limit: Effect(Hitpoints allowed)
3: Decrease Attack Speed by 30%
5: Unknown #348 (100/10/0)
6: Decrease Hitpoints by 4000 per tick
7: Decrease HP when cast by 4000

Three large golems spawn. They have a lot of hitpoints and hit hard (quad for ~7,000).

Blazing Golem emits a chaotic crystal magic as it charges forward.
Skynate Golem emits a chaotic crystal magic as it charges forward.
Shivercite Golem emits a chaotic crystal magic as it charges forward.

Once these three golems are dead, Big Bynn goes active again. Be aware he casts the spell "Crystal Fever" fairly frequently from now until his death.

Big Bynn I has been slain by _____!
Your faction standing with Steam Factory Flunkies got worse.
Your faction standing with Brownie Rebels got better.
Big Bynn I's corpse clangs and whirs as cogs and springs spray across Tinmizer's lab.

Tinmizer says, 'Whew! I didn't think we'd make it. I have a few adjustments to make, but I think my mighty creation is ready thanks to you . . . ready for what, I will never tell! Up! Up! And away I go!'

Against all expectations, you smote that tick-tocking dragon and proved Big Bynn to be a suitable foe for Meldrath and his maniacal minions!

This completes the task. Big Bynn I drops 12 Coded Log Sheets for use in the progression task The Search for the Ultimate Story.

103 SK, had my 87 SHM box which didn't heal, just Lynx, he lasted about half the fight.
99MNK
That's all it took. We started off sloppy, but MT will need to help kill crystals, and keep aggro, it would be a hard box, but its fairly simple.

I got this raid with my 6 box set up, was a really easy raid with the now a days high DPS from ranger and decappin of zerker made this event get added to the farm gear for level 75-80 alts list. with the 200k DPS from zerker and ranger combo I didn't even have to worry bout the crystals.

6 in group to get task.

Caeddon -vs- Combined: Big Bynn I: -- DMG: 2463968 -- DPS: 5144 -- Scaled: 5144 -- Slash: 2278868 -- Bash: 146015 -- DirDmg: 31833 -- Kick: 6882 -- Hit: 370 -- Non-crit rate: 64.3% -- crit rate: 35.7% -- Attempts: 1544 -- Hits: 1203 -- Missed: 341 -- Accuracy: 77.9% -- Avg Hit: 2048 -- Max hit: 100829 -- DMG to PC: 248863

He ate a few crystals (average of 1.5) in my fight so the DMG is much higher than his HP. Caeddon is a warrior and did virtually 100% of the dmg done to Big Bynn.

Dropped some shoes, a bracelet, and 2 of the overhaste clickies. But more importantly, my boxes can now crack open their own pure power sources. It was a good day.

Crystals spawn based on Big Bryn I's health. Here is the list of %s:

85% - Blazing Faycite
75% - Shivercite
62% - Skynate
50% - Feralcore Faycite
39% - Foulverin Faycite

Crystals spawn 5 at a time. 3 to the South and 2 to the North of Big Bryn I. If you can make sure to kill all the crystals in time this event is easy. You won't have to deal with any AEs. Make sure your raid knows that killing crystals fast is the most important thing your raid can do.

Just a note, this event does not properly reset on failure (just like Draygun). If you wipe you will need to drop the task because otherwise he seems to stay powered up.

There are no pre-requisites for this task, simply hail the drake, Falrazim, and follow his dialog.

There is only one task step:
Kill Big Bynn

Immediately behind Falrazim is a steel door, this is the entrance to the instance. You need to click on the handle (a wheel) on the door to enter.

The gnome, Tinmizer, is in the zone on a ledge behind Big Bynn I. Big Bynn is not attackable until you talk to Tinmizer and follow his dialog.
