This is an event in the Ashengate West raid expedition.

The Attendants of Sothgar are located in the furthest room in Ashengate West. There is no trigger or time-limit. They aggro when you are in range like any other mob.

Each attendant hits for ~5,000 and has an aura called "Burning Presence I".

Burning Presence I: Single Target, Fire (-550)
1: Decrease HP when cast by 1300
2: Decrease Hitpoints by 1300 per tick

They turn into "an enraged Attendant of Sothgar" once they reach about 8-10% health. These hit for ~8,000 and must be killed in a specific order: Smallest to largest in size/height (take into consideration a raised floor for some of them). If you kill them in the wrong order, the event resets immediately.

Following successful completion, a chest spawns with loot. Also, Sothgar the Twiceborn spawn but is unaggro.

Loot from this event includes 1 Mark of Vergalid + 2 Glowing Obsidian Runes + 1 of the zonewide aug drops from non-instance Ashengate + 1 of the augmentations in this list:

Arcane Actuator
Arcane Wavebender Prism
Clipped Griffon Wings
Flowing Magma Soulstone
Krithgor Ribshard
Magma Lacquer
Prism of Captured Energy
Sharpening Stone of the Sky

Here's Fayman's detailed writeup:

"Here some hard facts.

1. The golems tend to get into enraged from 2-10%, not from 8-10% - perhaps this happend early or perhaps the reason is DPS, who knows.
2. If you zerg into it then you have very big problems. Too much damage and you cannot control the fine tuning at the end
3. Mezzing is luxury. If a mezzer is present, then the whole event gets easy
4. The more players/toons you have, the more possible problems arise - if you are boxing then this will be crucial
5. The platform is NOT safe, you partly get aggro and at worst 5 dots at a time. For a lvl 105 it is no biggy, for a level 85 it can be critical, for a level 71 it is sure death - you can imagine what the level 34 thought....
6. Lava does quite a damage, even on high level players if you don't take care. Use FoE/SoE or Levitation to avoid Lava
7. Use fine tuning damage, not a big Nuke. Once gone over that little bit to get them to Enraged and the whole event resets
8. Fog of Memories or Blanket of Forget (Enchanter) or any kind of memory blur helps a lot
9. Take very much care that you don't have damage which you cannot control, e.g. Damage Shields!!! get rid of them to not get aggro-summoned, this could kill the mobs accidently if they awake from mezz and summon and charge you!.
10. At the end take care not only about the size but also the color. This will give you a hint which one is smaller or bigger.
11. If you have a whole raid with level 34-71 e.g., than you can include them in the expedition and in the raid. If loot drops (after chest opening) then let them enter the expedition, let a Mage with CoH bring them to the loot place, loot and port out e.g. via fellowship. Perhaps if that little one runs like **** it could work also but he has only about 2min before he get thrown out of the expedition and lands in PoK. To prevent that, use CoH and the fellowship. Fellowship in front of Jenray in Direwind. Lowlevel are waiting outside. With that trick you can even give a level 34 (perhaps it works also with a level 2) the Charm of Lore-Part of Ambersnout. CoH works also after you have closed doors in Sothgar. We tried that to get some noobs a bit gear and two level 71 and one level 34 got material and were happy while some level 105 and lvl 85 escorted them around (and the Charm of Lore part will even boost the level 34 to the next 1-2 levels upwards after turn-in).

One possible Strat for that event:

- corner the whole gang in one corner at one golem at the wall.
- mezz this golem and all others which will aggro
- Memory Blur them
- take one at a time step by step down to 10% and then very careful to the limit when they switch (we did that with an enchanter pet which had no big procs running which didnt brought down in too big steps)
- mezz the enraged, for safety debuff/slow him if you have instrinsic DS running
- memblur him (will give him hitpoints again for safety)
-> get to the next guy and corner the whole crew at the new place to only get aggro from this one (if you cannot get exact spot then mezz the left and the right as long as you have him not in enraged mode)
-> rinse repeat, until you have all five golems in enraged mode

-> if you memblur them then they heal up again, so you are relatively safe to not accidently kill them if your firepower is a bit too big (if you do it in Lvl75 raid only, then forget these things - the most problems where the big damage of a lvl 105 in our crew)

- If you have all at Enraged then mezz all and go up to the platform.
- compare every golems height and color while keeping them mezzed. The lower they are, the lighter seemed the color. If the color is not exactly distinguishable then you see the difference on the height
- kill the lowest one, mezz all others, rinse, repeat until all are dead

Now you can expect, that Levitation/FoE/SoE which protects you from not going into the lava, will disappear as Sothgar spawns und lies lazy at the center podium. Search for the Chest, but take care:
1. Chest is trapped
2. Use Disarm Trap / Pick Lock to get it open, a Rogue or Bard is helpful

Chest loot:
- 2x Augment (2h-Aug Sharpening Stone of the Sky, Soldier Stone of Purity)
- 3x Glowing Obsidian Rune (Tier III Spells)
- 1x Backflag/Bypass Item for Vergalid (Mark of Vergalid)

After that you face Sothgar.

That strat worked after many other tries for us."

Stand in the southeast corner hugging the wall for safety from the Auras (healers) or if you need time to recover due to f***ing up the order.

If you have a toon that can fade or FD this is not to difficult. Even if you don't getting a stack of planar overdose pots might work. Basically once you enter the chamber start with one attendant as described in Fayman's excellent post. DPS them until they go enraged, run to next and FD/fade. Repeat until you have all enraged and then work your way up to the ramp to determine their sizes for order of killing. I am unsure if it is random every raid but starting clockwise as you enter the room with the first mob on the left my order was 3, 1, 2, 5, 4. Also it appears that if you have a mob on extended target the door will remain locked. So if you have toons outside they might be locked out until the event is over. Leaving a mage outside to coth and agro wipe did seem to allow access back into the room and the enraged mobs stayed up.

This is an excellent way to grab a nice 2h dmg aug for you melee classes. I was able to do it today with a monk, cleric, and enchanter, 3-boxing. My monk now has a nice dmg aug on his hammer from Rottrued. I would like to encourage all of you out there to give it a try, if I can do it, am sure many out there can as well who might have discounted it in the past.

Ok, so it took over 3 hours for the event alone (not to mention clearing forever), and had 4 wipes, lol... but it's doable for certain.

Shortest to Tallest, but if 2 are the same size do you kill the darkest or the lightest in color next?

Figured it out today after some screwups ;) If two are the same size, you have to factor in the size of the floor they are standing on. Some are raised up due to the uneven floor.

attendants turn to enraged attendents at 10% health. The door locks behind the raid once it is opened and someone enters. The golems AE burning ____ II(forgot the whole title) approximately 1k dmg per round. There is a safe point in the middle of the room on the dias with the glowing defense style screens. Anywhere outside of this is ae territory.

Make your strats and make them well.

Currently, the event is bugged by all accounts. The platform isn't safe for some reason.

Wouldn't call this bugged, may be as intended, you have to deal w/ the various auras while fighting them. Just be smart about where you place yourself so you're not getting 2 or 3 of them at the same time.
