This raid expedition may be triggered with as little as six and up to 54 players.

In order to participate in this raid, the requester must have completed the entire "A City in Peril" task arc (six solo tasks and eight group tasks). Currently there is no backflag. Unflagged players may be "85'd" into the zone.

Clicking on the yellow globe at the top of Katta Castrum initiates the expedition. Upon porting into the main floor of the temple, head to its basement and use the portal there. You will be taken to the resting place of Tsaph Katta. On the other side of his room is another portal which takes you to the top of Katta Castrum.

Solteris consists of four "islands".

Island 1:
- Mayong's Mistresses (Althea, Brenda, and Christine return)
- Deadly Swarm (Aprosis the Fourth Confidant and cohorts)

Island 2:
- Stalwart Defenders (Rear Guard Captain Balreth)
- The Captured Portal (Astire, the Lunar Eclipse)

Island 3:
- Portal to Dreadspire (Irrissa the Seer)
- The Final Portal (Commodus, Solar Construct)

Island 4:
- Two Gods (Mayong Mistmoore and Solusek Ro)

Information about individual events can be found in their own 'quest' entries linked from the sidebar.

Each has a lockout timer of 4.5 days.

Each event drops two phosphene clusters. The effects on these items summon a number of phosphenes:

Mayong's Mistresses: 100
Deadly Swarm: 100
Stalwart Defenders: 200
The Captured Portal: 200
Portal to Dreadspire: 400
The Final Portal: 400
Two Gods: 1,000

Phosphenes are used to buy Rank III spells and armor from elite Combine Empire Merchants vendors in Katta Castrum. Each successive event unlocks an additional armor slot. Each event also unlocks certain spells. You do not need ally faction to buy armor or spells. You must, however, be properly flagged for Solteris.

Mayong's Mistresses unlocks wrist (cost: 100).
Deadly Swarm unlocks hands (cost: 150).
Stalwart Defenders unlocks boots (cost: 200).
The Captured Portal unlocks head (cost: 250).
Portal to Dreadspire unlocks arms (cost: 400).
The Final Portal unlocks legs (cost: 450).
Two Gods unlocks chest (cost: 700).

You must be present for each individual event completion up to that point in order to get access to the corresponding armor slot. So, if you've only attended a "Mayong's Mistresses" (Event #1)and "Stalwart Defenders" (Event #3) kills, you will only have access to wrists. Completion of "Deadly Swarm" (Event #2) will then unlock both hands and boots (giving you credit for the previous completion of Event #3).

Master Gulliastus sells chain armor.
Master Dammara sells leather armor.
Master Cappello sells plate armor.
Master Archimetus sells silk armor.

Master Ellestellian sells Rank III caster spells.
Master Ulyssus sells Rank III hybrid spells.
Master Renalto sells Rank III melee tomes.
Master Patales sells Rank III priest spells.

Also, you will notice "trash" mobs in the zone dropping a lot of Phosphites. These are used to buy Power Sources which give improved stats to this armor.

Master Pokk sells Pure Energeian powersources.

All vendors are located in the highlighted area of this map of Katta Castrum.

Tacvi requires 6 logged in characters of any level grouped raid format. The requester must have the "key" item from the Zun in Txevu in inventory (not bank).
Anguish requires 6 level 69+ characters in group or raid format. They don't all have to be logged in.
How is it for Solteris? When requesting the raid, do all six players need to be logged in? A certain level? Group/raid format?

Just tried it. I got the raid with 6 characters all over the minimum level with only one actually keyed and only 3 actually logged in. All characters (logged in and out) in the same group and not in a raid format. I think it follows the same standard as Anguish.

"You do not need ally faction to buy armor or spells. You must, however, be properly flagged for Solteris."

This is incorrect. You only need to be present in the raid when the events are beaten. My alt has not done any Solteris flagging quests and was able to buy armor, rank III spells, and pure energeian powersources from merchants.

Solo'd all 7 events as a 100 ranger, max AA (13,300), full Tier 1 CoTF raid gear. Balreth was of course the most difficult event, followed by Irrissa the Seer. None of the other events were challenging. They just required some strategy to defeat.

This zone is now unflagged and does not require the flag ring anymore. As long as you have 18 people you may do this expedition with no issues.

well Solteris is on "farm" status for my guild so we dont do it often anymore, but recently a new app got mmm boots or smoethign i belive and wasnt abel to purchase them but it appears it's because he hasnt done event one. i think you not only have to defeat particular events to access the according armor piece but the events haev to have been done in order as he had never done the first event. I hate to ask the question but are you sure you finished the first fight? ( i knwo your going to say yes but i haven to ask anways)
btw....

Dont need ally?
# Feb 15 2008 at 4:43 AM Rating: Default
Above it says that we dont require ally faction for the raid loot once its opened to us. I read on another site we need ally for arms legs and chest and need amiable for other pieces.

I would really love confirmation on this before I waste my DKP on Phosphenes. I am amiable faction and just dont have time to raise it. Everyone else in my guild is ally so none of them know what faction is required. If anyone can quote or link a reliable source it would be much appreciated.

This begs the question..Is there a more reliable source than Alla?? Probably not..so wondering if above ..not required.. is a typo.

you don't need any faction or even key i can confirm this. i'm a gimpy (haha...ok not funny /sad lol) i not only have only done ONE Combine faction quest in my entire life and still have dubious faction.... i don't even have the key to Solteris... i was gimped in. Though i will have it soon thats beside the point despite all this i have completed all Solteris events with no key and dubious faction and it unlocked all the armor for me and i could buy them. As for powersources not sure atm i'll get back to you. Anyway yay! gimp mage=worth knowledge -.- lol

Ally is not needed for any of the pieces. I was only amiable when completing all of the Solteris events and was able to purchase my class chest piece.

As the Phosphenes are currently tradeable, you could ask your guild leader to put them in the guild bank until you, or others, can confirm that you can purchase armor with your faction level.

At least, thats what I would do.
