Many would-be adventurers have turned up missing of late. One of them was one of my messengers. He was out collecting some of the various new and [interesting scrolls] that have been surfacing in the farthest reaches of this land. Well, let's see what I have in here. Ah, yes. The scrolls are definitely worth finding. Possibly even dangerous if they should fall into the wrong hands. But that is why the Collective sent me here. To procure all of the scrolls so that they may be studied at the Library of Mechanimagica. Bah!! But my messenger is missing! I can't fail them. Would you be willing to [help locate] some of the scrolls I am missing? You say, 'I will help locate the scrolls' Hiptal Frizzleboth says 'You would do that for me? still working fine but it's random on spell received ))
I did a turn in of 3 appropriate spells, and got nothing in return. I did do the 'Hail' and answered the questions, so he did give me the quest.

It seems that certain spells handed in now return certain spells... no idea how long it may have been this way (if it's not just coincidence).
Bristlebane's Bundle always returns Vocarate: Fire
Scars of Sigil always returns Boon of Immolation
At least, that's what I've experienced since trying to get my stupid Air pet. =)

Ok.Maybe i just got lucky but i gave him 4 scars of sigil 1 at a time and got all 4 different spells.Can anyone confirm this?
I just did the same, with 4 copies of gift of xev, and got one each of the four spells listed above.

There seems to be no method to the madness of what spells this guy gives... I was hoping there was... but I ended up giving him one of each spell and he gave me two Air pet spells and two Boon of Immolation... Ya like I need two of each! So I guess I will have to go get more spells just to try and get the other two

I have read other posts saying that the Vocarate: Air is rarely recieved. I guess in the end it is all just a matter of random generated numbers but here was my results today.
Turned in five times, 2 Scars of Sigil, 2 Bundles, and 1 Quiver.
From these I received in the following order...
Scintillation, Vocarate: Air, Vocarate: Fire, Vocarate: Air, Scintillation.
Wanted to get a Boon but oh well, will buy it in Bazaar I guess....

so...now that the war changed FV to an evil city, and our spell quest mobs are no longer there...how do we get our spells?

All the FV city mobs moved to the former Drolvarg castle in the eastern part of FV.
Or make an evil DE alt, and go do the version in OT.

What are the rare returns for this quest , or is there a rare return? and are the rares in FV different than the rares in OT?
i turned in 8 spells, didnt get 1 Air pet, maybe i just had bad luck, it was the only spell i needed of the 4 =\
the only known way that i've found to raise faction in FV (Firiona Vie) is through killing Goblins in WW (Warsliks Woods: http://allakhazam.com/zones/Kunark/Warsliks_Woods.html)
At least through all my researching. And it's very easy for the lvls that you would require this spell. Either that or use a toon to trade for you.
If anyone knows of other ways please post!!!

dimensional hole, 10 slot large 100% weight reduction-found in Odus, 34. Cornucopia 20 bread, 29 spell, researched or bought in qeynos. everfount 20 water, 29 spell researched. Abjuration ot alteration skill past 190? then 20 bandages with one shot. Maybe questing the spell is better? 
Dimensional Hole is not a 10 slot bag it is a 6 slot bag. Like all other conjured mage bags it is 100% weight reducing so that much you got right.

Your correct. These spells cannot be purchased at a vendor.
I misinterpreted information that is listed at: www.castersrealm.com
They list it as a vendor spell, when in fact the vendor they are talking about is the quest NPC.

These three spells are NOT sold by vendors unless a player sold them to the vendor unless there is a vendor in OT that sells them. They are not sold by the mage spells vendor in FV. Please get your facts straight. =)

I bought the 52 fire pet from the mage guild in FV. The spell was near the top of his inventory, so I am assuming he has that item permantely. I have also checked back a few times and it was there. Sorry to make anyone mad.

I had turned in one spell here and there and always got a spell that sells from vendors. Just to experiment, I turned in all four at once.
I got 53 Air, Two Scintilation, and 52 Fire. All of which can be purchased. So, I don't really see the point of doing this. Why lose a rare spell for one that you can buy for a few plat? I am wondering if anyone else has had a different experience. Since no one has posted here for a long time, maybe everyone has figured out what I learned the hard way. haha. Safe journeys.

O.K....I have read everyplace about which scrolls produce which spells. But I have yet to hear about which CREATURES actually drop these scrolls? Do they drop from just anything you hunt in any zone? What drops them? Where do these Creatures or Mobs live? It is kind of pointless to know what the reward will be when you don't know where to look. If ANYONE can help, please let me know:

Just about anything in Sebilis, FG Ancients in BW, the whole zone of Skyfire, some of Chardok, Howling Stones, etc...
You can expect these spells to drop off any 51+ mob, pretty much, and the 55+ mobs to drop 55+ spells. I.E. The Sebilis Juggernauts (sp) drop lvl 55+ spells for all classes, as well as several of the mobs in the Crypt area of Seb.
54 Water doesn't come from a trade in, its an NPC drop and a pretty damn rare spell drop. CoH's drop rate has been upped, and drops more often. Therefore its worth a LOT less than 20K :P

I found some of these scroll on the Forest Giant Ancien, but they drop random spell 50+ for all sort af class and they are rare drop ....

I have been looking for something that would tell me where to find the creatures that drop the needed scrolls. If anyone knows where to find them and which creatures to kill, please let me know.

NOTE: BristleBanes bundle and Quiver of Marr i not heard anything special on.. one or the other may give you the 54 water pet/Bandoleerr of Lucilin/Pouch of Quellios (not likely on the latter here.. they don't seem to let you quet for the 55+spells)- now on these.. pure conjecture as i actully dont HAVE these spells.. but the following i have gotten with consistant results for myself and other mages.
The appears to random is partly accurate to a point. But from what i have gleened from experience and asking other mages is this.. And boy true to Verant form.. they make you sacrifice some perty nice spells to get your others. I STRONGLY recommend scribing Gift of Xev @ LVL 51 (summon 10 slot 100% weight reducing back pack 20 food/water/bandages for 60 mana) ESPECIALLY if you do a lot of planes raids and if your 51 most of the spells you could get in return will be higher lvl than your ready to deal with. Scars of Sigil (LVL 54) is a nother good one they pry out of you.. this is a KILLER DD. For the FIRST time as a magician i can feel somewhat safe without a pet. BOLT - 450 DMG 2 second cast 175 mana standard recast .. can you say KITE-O-RAMA? Took Sergeant Slate out like this ME 900 dmg him love tap for 50-110 ME 900 dmg love tap.. put him down wth 50% mana left and didn't even need a pet. SOOOO .. keeping all that in mind:

PBAOE 3 second cast 608 dmg 361 mana 5 second recast, affects up to SIX targets (ya careful hehe) I refer to this one as Green Death or EVAC taunt heh.. someone calls an evac and you fire this puppy off .. they not gonna glance twice at the evacer (dont count on making out but for me i'd rather die so the tanks can be mildly useful for CR-least casters still vaguely useful if neked)

Just dinged 52 and was interested in the fire pet. Had already scribed Gift Of Xev.
Turned in Bristlbane's Bundle and received Scintilation. Didn't really want it but definately better than the bundle.
Then turned in the Quiver of Marr and received Vocerate: Fire. Woohoo. Still have Scars of Sigil and not sure if I will turn it in or not. Maybe after I get a back up copy of it.
