After the takeover of the city of Firiona Vie by the forces of Lanys T`Vyl, Luminare Pasinia may be found outside the city on a hill at /loc -249, -2351, 342.

In 2016 on TLP (Ragefire with Kunark enabled) she is located at -3955.45, 2626.09, -77.97 (in the building with caster GMs and spell vendors).

You say, 'Hail, Luminare Pasinia'

Luminare Pasinia waves her hands as if to cast a spell. 'GREETINGS!! I am the Luminare of Firiona by decree of his royal highness, King Thex,I am here to research spells and artifacts. I have much to do. I welcome any enchanter who offers to [assist the great Luminare].'

You say, 'I will assist the great Luminare.'

Luminare Pasinia says 'And great I am, indeeed!! Alas, not great enough to be everywhere at once. I would gladly reward you if you would [collect components] for me.'

You say, 'I will collect components for you.'

Luminare Pasinia says 'Then go into the wilds beyond the outpost and upon your return, you shall give to me the powder of Nok, heart of ice. Ton warrior totem, and a sabertooth tiger mane. This shall earn you knowledge of an enchanter spell I recently scribed.'

1) Powder of Nok - Nok Shaman Powder (identifies as "Powder of Nok") comes from a "froglok nok shaman" in the north area of this zone. It looks like black pixie dust.

2) Heart of Ice - This is dropped by various icebone skeletons in the Lake of Ill Omen, the Swamp of No Hope, or Kurn's Tower.

3) Ton Warrior Totem - This is dropped by various frogloks found in the froglok city in the Swamp of No Hope, and identifies as "Key of Dai -I.". They spawn apparently in several places but aren't very common.

4) Sabertooth Mane - These drop off the sabertooth Tigers found in Lake of Ill Omen, the Overthere, and Trakanon's Teeth.

Bring these items back to Luminare:

Luminare Pasinia says 'Do you not remember that I asked for powder of Nok, a Ton warrior totem, a heart of ice and a sabertooth tiger mane? Incomplete deeds shall fetch no enchanter reward.'
Luminare Pasinia says 'Do you not remember that I asked for powder of Nok, a Ton warrior totem, a heart of ice and a sabertooth tiger mane? Incomplete deeds shall fetch no enchanter reward.'
Luminare Pasinia says 'Do you not remember that I asked for powder of Nok, a Ton warrior totem, a heart of ice and a sabertooth tiger mane? Incomplete deeds shall fetch no enchanter reward.'
Luminare Pasinia places the items into a sack and removes a scroll from her robe. This is yours. A spell I discovered and translated for one with less intelligence than the great Luminare of Firiona Vie. You may kiss my feet now.'
Your faction standing with Inhabitants of Firiona Vie got better.
Your faction standing with Emerald Warriors got better.
Your faction standing with Storm Guard got better.
Your faction standing with Legion of Cabilis got worse.
Your faction standing with Pirates Of Gunthak got worse.
You gain experience!!

You receive a scroll called Vision of Sebilite, which scribes as the spell "Illusion Iksar."

HARD as heck!
# Sep 21 2001 at 10:14 AM Rating: Decent
Well, yesterday I spent about 6 hours doing this quest and died once, only to not receive the spell. The tiger mane and heart of ice are easy enough, just go to Lake of Ill Omen. I THOUGHT I had the shaman powder, dropped off the first froggie I killed at Swamp zone in FV.

The totem took forever at the Iksar Brigand Camp. I camped there for about 5 of the 6 hours, killing everything in sight around the camp. All kinds of froggies spawned there, but only three Ton Warriors. The first two dropped the totem pieces, that last dropped the totem, looks like a wooden carving of a monkey in the "Thinker" pose. Before the last Ton Warrior popped, I got so bored at the Brigand camp I went to froggie village and began killing everything there, which is where I ran into Gulump (sp). He took me (level 41) and my pet out in about 3 hits.

Anyway, the totem finally dropped off the froggie at the Brigand Camp, here I am thinking I have all the components so I high tail it back to FV to see Luminaire. I hand over all 4 components and am told, "NO, this is all wrong, no spell for you!" I wanted to throw my computer against the wall! Apparently, I had the wrong powder. It said "Shaman Powder" and was colored gold. I have since read you need "Shaman Powder" that is black. Thanks Verant! I could have been over in DL getting level 42 for the time I wasted on this stupid quest!

LOL!!! Umm doesnt it seem like you messed up hehe How can you blame verant for that? At any rate I do agree they made the quests a bit hard for solo such as this and the cann2 one (com at 39? lol) obviously in hopes peple will group as friends and make game interesting rather than final fantasy like go kill this next blah blah blah hehe. For the record 30 ranger no problem whatsoever doing it)

the Ton Warrior Totem is not just from froglok ton warriors. I was not able to find one from ton warriors (only pieces, maybe I was just unlucky). But I did loot this Totem from a "froglok krup guard", an uncommon spawn in the froglok village. Go up the ramp from the ground to the village and he spawned in the 2nd hut to the right where 4 frogs are, after several rounds of killing. He also dropped a Krup Warrior Guard, a NO DROP shield item.

Camped Ton warriors at all 4 spawn sights , killed at least 10 of them with no totem. came back on the 4th day and killed 2 kurp guards. Both of which had Ton Warrior totems. Kurp guards spawn at the Bandit caves and the Froglok citty.

Got one of these tonight off the warrior. Killed three in the area around the Iskar camp just to the east of Cabilis entrance. The second one dropped both a totem and pieces. Was actually trying to find Venomous Lamprey (saw one in 3 hrs) but killed all blue (to 30th) in the area. If you just listen for the froglok jump sound you can easily find froggies where ever you look. just keep your ears peeled and your volume up a bit.

All of you are saying the same thing. Easy to do. I got it in an hour. We got it on our 2nd kill. We had 4 enchanters who wanted it and they all got it! I've been camping the Iksar Bandit camp and killing Ton Warriors for an entire week! Yes, and entire week! Every night, for several hours. I've killed over 20 warriors! NO, and I mean no totems have dropped. Only pieces. So all of you who say this thing is easy, I guess you're just luckier than the rest. Cause it certainly hasn't been easy as far as I can see.
Finished the quest also.

The Ton warrior took the longest we started killing everything around the iksar camp and the ton warriors started to show up. After about the 5th or 6th one we got the totem.

I had a 31st lvl Druid and a 30 lvl Monk with me, I am 32 lvl Enchanter. Most everything was green or blue to me, but watch out for any named mobs, they be red.

The powder was very quick to get the first one we killed. But the mobs aggro badly, I had to Enthall and Memory Blur one mob that was about to kill me, very dangerous area.

All it took was about 3 hours of real time to complete and I look great as an Iksar, hehehe.

Have not tested the regen ablities yet of the spell but I am going to.

One of the benefits of an Illusion spell is that the recipient gains some of the racial benefits of whatever the Illusion is. In this case, the caster will get infravision and regen without having to be a huge troll (large races being problematic in dungeon zones).

I have been camping the iksar bandit camp with my Sk latley and I think I have let at least 10 of these rot. The warrior is a random spawn on the same cycle as the raiders/shamans/knights/fishers/bounders/ and the escaped froglock.
I have been trying to get the pages from the raiders and the binder for my quest, so many warriors have dropped. I think out of every 3 i kill one has a totem on it.

So, if your looking for the tome check out the iksar camp in the swamp.
Rotten Froggies!
# Jul 10 2001 at 11:24 AM Rating: Decent

...at first this quest just made me bored because I camped Swamp of no Hope for 18 hours (not all at once mind you) looking for the Ton Warrior at his reported hangouts. The Totem was indeed the most difficult part of the quest to get! The other three items were super simple to gather for me, as a Level 48 Enchantress, but it was that Totem that just gave me problems :(

The Tom Warrior is an ellusive little fellow spawnig near the Outcast Iksar Camp and the Haunted Ruins. But, there is another way; one that is better than just running around the entire Swamp looking for Ton Froggies...The Ton Warrior Totem also drops, with more reported regularity, off of the Skulks that occaisonally spawn in the Froglok Temple located in a small side cavem to the right as you take a short walk just behind the waterfall leading to Trakanon's Teeth. There are I think a total of ten Froggies located there...leave the four Froggies in the room to the left alone..I hear that the named Froggie in unkillable..but kiil everyone else and after a while...PRESTO! one Ton Warrior Totem!!

I finally got this done with my little chanter girl. I might have gotten lucky not sure. A guildie and I worked on this together. We went to the bandit camp. A warrior spawned shortly. He was quickly dispatched. Dropped one totem. Killed everything in sight around the camp. Another warrior spawned in about 20mins or so. He dropped two totems.

Now things turned sour. The quest to get the powder was a pain. Just about everything in the area sees invis so try to find a place without too much traffic. I made many attempts to get this and either the powder didn't drop or we couldn't find a shaman. A tracker makes life so much easier. On the final attempt, one happened to path near where my friend and I had been killed. So we just sat and waited for him to hop by again.

After completing this quest, it's great fun to use. I pretty much use it all the time. I haven't tried to just walk through Cab yet, still working on faction with those darn Crusaders but I have been non Kos with the troopers thanks to a little benevolence and many valiant sarnaks whom have valiantly given up their lives.

I got real lucky with this totem, the first time i go to get one, i get to the bandit camp and there is a ton warr standing near the camp. i kill it but no totem. So I kill all the bandits in the camp and 10 min later i see another ton warr, kill it and totem drops. About 15 min total for me on the totem and about an hour to finish the quest.

I have completed all the parts of the quest, the ton warrior totem being an annoyingly long camp, but I did it all. Only to find out that I can't get above KOS in FV. I'm a dark elf enchanter that made the RP choice to worship Innoruuk (I was inspired from playing towards the end of the beta when Innoruuk appeared and led an army to battle against a similar army of minions form Mithaniel Marr in freeport).

Anyway, I have tried using High elf illusion + benevolence (which got me to dubious in Felewith itself! I had to do the tashania quest recently) on a pilgrim, and I am still KOS. I don't recall every doing any serious high elf killing, in fact the only NPC killing I've really ever done is to kill MANY of those bards stationed around antonica. Is there a good way to raise FV faction so I can finish this quest? I figure it would take WAY too long killing goblins (and I am basically against the idea of stealing kills from the appropriate level just for faction). I would love to find some quest I could do to start rasing FV faction (that I could do considering I am currently KOS in FV).

I do have a secondary that is liked in FV that could complete the quest, but I DREAD the thought of repeating that damn search for a ton warrior totem again. I camped the iksar bandit camp for 5-6 hours, constantly killing everything nearby to make the damn tons spawn. Over 5-6 hours about 5 tons spawned before I finally got a totem. Also I don't have 1k to be able to buy the spell in nfp.

Your best bet, if you have to kill goblins en masse and don't want to steal kills from appropriate levels, is to head to Warsliks Woods. The area north of Cabilis is full of newbie-level goblins. Newbies seem to avoid Warsliks for whatever reason, so you don't have to worry about taking kills from anyone. Plus, this will help raise Legion of Cabilis, the first step in getting non-KOS to Cabilis. (By the way, if you have enough carrying space, save those goblin watcher torches. Once you're at least dubious to Legion of Cabilis, giving the torches to Captain Gideen will raise all Cabilis factions except the necro guild. You get one faction hit per three torches.)

Killing goblins all over Kunark will improve your faction w/ Firion Vie. I'm pretty sure this works for all goblinsin Kunark
Got It
# May 25 2001 at 9:28 AM Rating: Good
Well, I finally got it.

I obtained the Mane and Heart of Ice early at about lvl 23 or so. My advise is to wait till you're ready to do the full quest before you get these. Even wait till you have the other pieces all together.

For the other two items I had a lot of help, lvl 51 Druid, 55 Necro, 51 Enchanter (Not me but also needed to do the quest), and me (lvl 34).

The Powder: This IS called "Shaman Powder" when right clicked on and is dropped quite frequently. Thank Norrath's Gods for tracking, w/o the druid this would have been much harder to obtain. The Nok Shamans can be found around the base of the cliff in F.V. There were uncountable aggroing beasts in the area. Be prepared for them; they're about lvl 34. Thanks to the Necro these were no problem at all. He kept them at bay quite well.

The Totem: Again, thanks to tracking, the first totem was no problem. We quickly found a Ton Warrior after zoning in, and he dropped it. Then, we spent 3 hours hunting the area and killing a lot of Froglocks, including Ton Warriors, but none dropped the totem. So I camped out at the Brigand camp as the others had to leave. I killed as much as mana permitted around the camp. I DID NOT TOUCH A SINGLE IKSAR IN THE CAMP. After a bit, they started appearing. The second one dropped it. Turned it in...got the spell.

Later, I went back and did the quest again to sell the spell. Took 4 hours of camping the Brigand camp but one poped. The jerk dropped two! Too bad these things are Lore...hehe

Good luck!

I was able to do the quest in 2 days without camping for long using my 40th Druid. First day I was looking around the Froglok city in SoNH and ran into the named froglok and he killed me in about 5 hits. Then today I went into SoNH from the Western zone from FV. Looked at tracking and saw a Froglok Ton Warrior when I got near the water from zone. Tracked him and found it standing at the edge of the water. Killed him and he dropped the totem. Maybe I was just lucky or it is a spawn point. Anyway it was Northwest from the undead ruins, at about (-1930, +1550). Hope this helps, good luck.

i just finished the quest last night, i had a 34 druid help me, first we got the tiger mane on the first drop (it's probably every drop) so that part was easy, then we went to swamp of no hope, as we were going to some ruins to get the icebone skeles, we saw a ton warrior on track, killed it easily (i was 29) and looted the totem on the first drop! there was also the pieces but i didnt loot em. then we killed an icebone skele and got the heart on first drop too. we then decided to go to FV to finish the quest, well... that's where it went bad, we saw the nok shammy alright, but the spiders and other frogloks jumped us and we got killed, then we finally got our corpses back and killed the shaman with not much trouble, but got exp, looted the powder, turned it in, got the spell. to clarify some things people think about the spell, it gives 10ac and regen, it does NOT give a swim bonus despite what some believe, and there is a faction adjustment just like every other illusion spell

have a nice day and goodluck

Well, I finally did it... Had some good help: 51 Druid, 51 Enchanter (not me), and 55 Necro.

My advice:
1.) Don't bother getting the Heart of Ice and Sabertooth Tiger Mane till you have the other two components as these two are extremely easy to get.

2.) I have read the posts about the Ton Warriors spawning near the Iksar Brigand camp. They're correct, though, they don't only spawn there. So bring in a tracker to do some of that while you slaughter the beasts around the camp. I didn't touch a single Iksar in the camp and they spawned, so, the iksars in the camp have nothing to do with their spawning. They travel West through the camp toward the pillar near the camp. I'm going to research these in more detail to find out where exactly they spawn at, if there's a time that they do, and anything else I can figure out and will post it here.

3.) Phew...have some friends for the Powder! Everything here aggros and are relatively tough. My group got two powders off of four kills, so they drop quite readily.

Good luck!

I am a 44th season enchantress, and STILL have naut managed to finish this quest!! I sat in the swamp for an entire week straight around the bandit camp and nearby the frog village, and not once did I see a Ton Warrior. I even managed to drag a ranger out of Ill Omen on my way out of Kunark to track for me, and after having him there for 5 hours running between the bandit camp and village, neither of us found a single Ton Warrior. I'm worried because this thing is also supposed to be a rare drop.. s'pose I'll have to go back when I'm feeling EXTREMELY lucky.
Finally....
# May 16 2001 at 6:17 AM Rating: Good
Finally, I completed the quest, and have the Illusion! Phew...was quite an undertaking too!

I'll summarize my endeavor in order to assist future pursuits by my fellow enchanters. First off, getting the Heart of Ice and Sabertooth Tiger Mane is no problem at all. The beasts listed drop them quite frequently and are quite easy to defeat. I wouldn't bother getting them till you plan to do the quest to completion as they'll just take up inventory slots. (Either in your bank or on your Character.)

I finally talked some follow guildies into helping me finish the quest: 51 Druid, 55 Necro, 51 Enchanter, and me (34 Enchanter.) Doing the Powder of Nok (Which IS the BLACK powder called "Shaman Powder.") I was very thankful for the Necro's presence, as he was vital in holding off all the beasts that were aggroing us as they were passing by; and there were an abundance of them. The Froglok Nok Shamans were not rare and quite readily dropped the Shaman powder. They can be found in sufficient quantities in the area at the base of the cliff from location 1600, 1200 to 2000, -800.

Now, the Totem.... We zoned into the Swamp and immediately began utilizing the Druid's tracking. Where-upon, we quickly located a Froglok Ton Warrior. The first one we found dropped it. However, since we needed two, we continued searching for them. (The lvl 51 Enchanter also wanted the spell.) We tracked the entire zone and found four more, none of which dropped it. After quite a while of searching my fellow guildies had to depart, though the Enchanter returned with his druid character to continue to help. I had read the posts stating that the Ton Warriors tended to pop occasionally by the Outcast Iksar Camp. So I set up camp there, between the camp and the near-by pillar, while the druid ran around the zone tracking for them. I continuously killed as many beasts around the camp as possible; however, I did not touch a single Iksar in the camp. Slowly the Ton Warriors spawned. I don't know where they spawned at; however, they traveled west through the camp to where I was camped on the other side. The second Warrior dropped it! WOOT!

I handed all the items in at the same time, and was rewarded w/ the scroll! Thanks to my friends who helped me, and HAIL NORRATHS JUSTICE of the Luclin server.
