Xorbb's staff is 1 of 4 required in a very old quest in Neriak.
Although the name eludes me at the moment the blue lightning hammer or something close was given by gathering the 4 staves together
3 from the goblins, 1 from the eye and turned in to a cleric.
fire crystal staff (sol A)
water crystal staff (lake rathetear)
ice crystal staff (permafrost)
slime crystal staff (xorbb's gorge)
The hammer was also given out during the first kill of Nagafen when there was no loot upon his death. GMs didn't know what to do when their first big child was actually killed ahead of any predicted schedule. The quest for the hammer is still intact and yet the slime crystal staff has always eluded me.
Just for lore purposes I've kept the 3 staves in hopes of some day bagging this guy and turning them all in....10 years later still grinding!

Why do people always flame others and call the quests and rewards garbage and junk?
After all, the value of the item is in the eyes of the person.
Of course a "moron" druid would turn in the high-end Mithril Plated Girth: AC 9 +9 Str +9 Sta. Warrior Only for a 2hb staff with no stats, the Sap Sheen Staff: 10/34 effect: Root. Druid Only. The druid has no choice BUT to turn in the girth for the staff.
If it's not an item that you can use, there is no use flaming the quest; just find another one...

Well lets see....who would want to give up a warrior item...for a druid staff...hmmmmm gee maybe a Dun dun dun ....Druid ?
I think the point is the reward is not worth the trouble. When you consider what you could sell the Girth for, you could then find a much better druid item than the Staff. Just my [:twocents:

When you click on the link to the Girth above, it states that the minimum level to attane is 40, but this is supposed to be a level 25 quest. What gives?

I hunted Grahzak many times, even did a full week (18 hours a day) logged into EQ, doing his camp.
quite rare spawn, never meet him, but saw morti several times.
the slime elementel in RE i killed about 200+ times, never dropped a staff.
never meet king xorbb either.
staff probably comes from king though, but verant took him out of game in the update didnt they?

King Xorbb dropped this staff for me today 23 April 2002. I found him in the side passage, if you come out of Runny and turn right, take your first right - in there. Not near the EE throne.

Does anybody have any CLEAR way of making him spawn and possibly where he spawns? Is it just random, is there a PHer, or does he always appear at the same camp? (Or does he wander?) It would suck if someone went there and camped for hours, then gave up and he spawns for some random person just hanging out passing through to the lake kills him and gets that belt. IF anybody knows, I would be sooo appreciative. I've alreayd put like 10 hours into this killing all I could. My e-mail is bauchatr@msu.edu if you find out anything. Thanks!

I think I can speak for everyone on this topic. Please people when you know that someone has been camping for a long time, don't pester them about when they are going to leave. Don't sit down next to them to "wait" until they are done. You might be waiting a long time and then the time it takes for you to complete your camp on top of that. The NPC will always respawn and will always be there. Just ask them kindly if they will send you a tell when they are done and 9 times out of 10 they will. These players are tired from camping that long of a period and quite understandably a little grouchy and become extremely nervous at the thought of someone possibly stealing their kill. So, be courteous.

haaaahaha not even close.. if you changed it to 15 DAYS.. you might be coming closer.. Good Luck finding Gazhak The Beserk inside of that time

I've been there 15-25 hours and seen him once. Buddy running through mtns, got him once as well. Girth both times.

The slime crystal staff actually drops off the slime elemental in Runny Eye not in beholder maze.
Drops from Xorbb outside Runny in the maze. Xorbb wanders. I got this staff 23 April 2002.

If it procs, it removes snare, then when root breaks they die. I wonder if any druid ever completes this after the first, hehe.

if u kill the berserker your very luck, probably one of the rarest spawns in rathe mountains, and the belt he drops sells for a ton.
