Captain Nealith may be found at +645, -2670 since the dark races took over the city.

You say, 'Hail, Captain Nealith'

Captain Nealith says 'Hail, adventurer!! Stand tall and fight for the forest folk and all good races of Norrath. We shall claim this land for the kingdom of Thex! My warriors shall not fail. Already we patrol deep in the wilds of Kunark. We welcome all mercenaries and urge adventurers to [join the defense of the outpost].'

You say, 'I will join the defense of the outpost.'

Captain Nealith says 'I salute you!! Join the hunt. Reports from the front line indicate a rise in the drolvarg population. Abandon your fear and slay these beasts for the greater good. Already, they have taken far too many lives, even my sibling's!! I shall pay you your wages upon the return of four drolvarg teeth.'

Collect A Canine (identifies as "Drolvarg Tooth") from drolvargs in various zones. Hand in all four:

Captain Nealith holds the canine in his palm. 'Good work, but you will have to slay more than this to earn your wages.'
Captain Nealith holds the canine in his palm. 'Good work, but you will have to slay more than this to earn your wages.'
Captain Nealith holds the canine in his palm. 'Good work, but you will have to slay more than this to earn your wages.'
Captain Nealith tosses the teeth into a very large cask full of similar teeth. 'Fine work, ______. I wish all my own troops showed the same tenacity. I salute you. This will keep you well fed during your long patrols. Use your wages to better equip yourself. Continue the fight!! The General is pleased.'

The Kly in Dalnir drop Canines on a semi-regular basis. I just turned a bunch in, in stacks of 20, on Agnarr, during a bonus faction week after spending a lot of time down in Dalnir working on the Visceral Dagger for my SK. After about 40-60 canines, at +10 bonus faction, my Halfling who was dubious is now Amiable.

Did the Quest today and can confirmt that the LOC is indeed 647, -2668. Captain Naelith is with all the other refugees in the eastern part of FV since the Golems and other bad guys booted them out of their outpost.

Good faction work, and you get a meal.
Best faction work for FV is doing pirates in OOT.
Took me awhile though.
Free food
# Aug 14 2004 at 12:30 PM Rating: Decent
I cant believe there is actually a quest that gives out food LOL maybe thats just it someone at sony had a vision of a desert madman walking around with a sign "Will Quest for food" and hanging out next to the Orc highway LOL. I'll collect and turn in teeth simply because I find lots of them in Dalnir Free food is always a plus but wouldn't set out specifically to do this quest Its gotta be a joke. By the time you get to the appropriate lvl to do this quest you want more than a snack as your reward.

I just acquired a Charm of the Emerald Warrior. Its stats increase as faction with Emerald Warriors goes up. I see this as a pretty good way to raise my faction without being a bully and taking the TR spawn in Crushbone away from level appropriate players or killing all the guards in Nektulos and leaving the newbies without any protection.

I suppose I could camp the aqua goblins in BBM. They are usually free but they drop nothing of value, and while the loot from the Drolvargs is not spectacular, it does start to add up after a while - and the supply of Drovargs to kill in FV is endless.

turn ins
# May 31 2004 at 5:11 PM Rating: Decent
all turn ins cannot be stacked in one pile....if it calls for 4 items they must each be placed into their own spot during the trade in...then hit the trade button...if you do a stack of 4 or 80 in a pile they are only going to recognize one becasue only one spot in the trade in is filled....so if you turn in 80 stacked in 4 piles you will only get credit for one turn in.........
becasue the game only recognizes you turned in 4

Don't hand in stacks

Well, never hand in stuff like this in stacks. I suspect your 4 stacks got treated like 4 teeth, not 80 teeth. You might want to try again with just 4, handing each individually, and see if you get the same reward.

They may have changed this, but my understanding is whenever you hand stuff in to an NPC, do it individually, not stacked.

You used to be able to do faction quests such as this one by turning in multiple quantity required stacks (if the quest required 4 items then 4 stacks of 4) but they changed that probably a little over a year ago. I recall doing the Gnoll Fang quest in Halas shortly after I started playing EQ and watching the faction messages scrolling by as I turned the fangs in by stacks of 3 in each of the 4 trade slots. Try that today and you only get 1 faction hit instead of the 4 you used to get.

After they changed it, you have to do the turn in now with one unstacked item in each trade slot so for the Drolvarg Teeth faction quest you give Captain Nealith 4 teeth at a time, 1 tooth in each of the 4 trade slots.

I'm not exactly sure why they changed it but I think it may have been causing some problems using the older method of multiple stacks. It sure was easier and not quite as time consuming though when you could do the quests by stacking them, especially if you had 60-70 or more items to turn in.

Okay, I have been killing in DL for 10 levels now, ( I know get a life and some adventure) so I took 4 stacks in, 80 teeth, he told me I need more, so I gave another stack, after I finally gave the 4 stack he gave me exp and 4 elven trail mix, no big deal, what urks me is I have to now run back, cause I am a warrior. THIS STUNK, Destroy the teeth and save yourself

As a darkelf i've made it my goal to somehow be accepted in both Kelethin AND Neriak. No real purpose other than "cuz i wanna." The real value of this quest that i can see is that it raises the emerald warriors faction WITHOUT lowering Indigo brotherhood. Awesome quest for that alone. Once i get better information on it (this is just a concept for me at the moment) i'll post again.

If I'm not mistaken, killing the aqua goblins by the seashore in Butcherblock also raises Emerald Warriors faction, as well as Gem Choppers (Ak'Anon Warriors) & Storm Guard (Kaladim Warriors) without lowering Indigo Brotherhood.

This quest would go wonderfully with the Charm that increases in stats as you increase your faction with the Emerald Warriors.

i thought the kelethin guards were Faydarks Champions. Even if they arent, the other factions will KoS you.

RE: Most valued part of this quest
# Apr 06 2004 at 10:37 AM Rating: Decent
Faydark's Champions are the Rangers. The guards are Emerald Warriors (who also guard Felwithe, if I am not mistake).

Other than that, you are correct, the Bards will still KOS a Dark Elf, as it's happened to a DE character of mine back when he was finally not KOS to the guards. The banker will also KOS you, and possibly the Rogue guild.
One decent use if im not wrong, which i may be...

If im not mistaken the faction lowered by killing dorf guards is stormguard no?
If so then this quest is wonderful for drood like me who killed dorf guards for exp in the mid 30's

Figured that if this gives xp at 40 then at 25 it may give quite a lot of XP.

Forget it, my 25 chanter sneaked around DL looting these from abandoned drolvarg corpses, got 4 and went to check out the xp gain, nada. well almost nada.

museli was nice tho :)

RE: fairly dissapointed
# Jun 18 2002 at 11:27 AM Rating: Default
I think the experience you get from doing quests is rather pathetic. They shouldn't even bother giving experience as a reward cause I'm yet to see my exp bar move significantly from completing a quest. They should change the name of the game from Everquest to Everkill cause that's the bulk of what you do in the game to advance.
#REDACTED, Posted: Aug 20 2003 at 9:03 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I agree Everkill while Ever laggged... or better
RE: fairly dissapointed
# Oct 04 2002 at 10:22 AM Rating: Good
It is often the case, however under level 30 there are quite a bunch of quests that give experience. The experience is more like a little bonus than anything else.

For example, a nice camp at level 15 or so is the Nybright Sisters in Lesser Faydark, they are four and easy to pull. You make experience while collecting their necklaces, and then you can turn the necklaces to the drunkard in Kelethin to receive some faction and a little experience bonus (like a blue bar or so). This is better than nothing.

I think quests that would return more than a blue or two of exeprience would cause lots of balancing problems. We all know there are pathetics losers who would just camp the quest mobs over and over and do the quest repeatedly if it gave actually more experience than hunting miscellaneous mobs. What can you do about that ?

I think Luclin's quests were a lot better. Not so much for an experience reward, but at least you get a decent item reward, such as the young shamen 'cloak of the Shar Vahl'. Not only that but they introduce you to trade skill recipes and crafts. My Vah Shir rogue made Owlbear Steaks for one of the quests that gave +1 str.. that was fun :)

Just sad we had to wait 3 years to get this, and as I am weriting my young erudite pally still doesn't have the newbie armor quests on par with the other race/class revamps.
#REDACTED, Posted: Mar 11 2002 at 8:48 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) So can anyone PLEASE tell me ! WHAT do I do with the "A Yellow Whip"... ?!
Dont forget to hit enter

when talking to the captain. He hits for about 390 and 2 or 3 guys spawn when you attack him and help out. Made quick business of Palop's 1700 hp
RE: Dont forget to hit enter
# Dec 17 2002 at 11:26 PM Rating: Default
Or even better, rebind your attack key to something besides 'a'. I use the '~' key. It's right up beside '1', so it's like a free 11th hotkey.

Teeth quest
# Jan 06 2002 at 8:23 AM Rating: Decent
Hey all

Agreed its not too good XP for 40 up but one thing i like doing this quest for is that the captain will give you a few abundant foods in return for the teeth. If your an avid dreds grouper its a nice quest if just for the reason that u should never see that annoying "you are low on food" message =)

Agreed it's not much for XP, but turning in 12 teeth raised my faction (Barb Warr) from apprehensive to indifferent. Every little bit helps.
