This solo task begins with Murderous Mal, who is located at about -25, 2970 on the island of Jardel's Hook in the Buried Sea.

    You say, 'Hail, Murderous Mal'

Murderous Mal says 'Hello. I'm Mal. Welcome to my place of business, friend. Now, I don't know that I can sell you any of my products. You see I'm really only allowed to sell to my brothers of the Blacksail. But I suppose if you're discrete then I might have a thing or two of interest to you. At the same time you might have [some things] of use to me as well.'

    You say, 'Some things?'

Murderous Mal says 'Well, not things, exactly, more like skills. Ya see I have a lot of trouble with the locals here, my sworn brothers and sisters. I'm not exactly the most dangerous pirate to ever join the Blacksail. Never you mind the name they've given me, they did that to tease me. Pirates aren't known for their overwhelming respect for others, you know. But I know how to run a business and they need me for some things. Maybe you can help me with [some tasks] that I can't do on my own right now, I have to stay here and watch over my goods.'

    You say, 'Some tasks?'

Murderous Mal says 'Ay, I have a few things that need doing.'

You are offered three tasks, one of which is 'Deliver the Goods'.

You have been assigned the task 'Deliver the Goods'.

Mal has asked you to deliver a package to his contact on the Barren Coast.

    Receive Package of Goods.

Deliver 1 Package of Goods to Silverlip Slim (Barren Coast)

Three a Blacksail brigand will arrive a few seconds later, running down the coast from the north. Two are human and one is a Troll. The Troll drops a Bill of Sale. These brigands do not see invis, and are snarable. If not aggroed shortly after their arrival at Silverlip Slim they will despawn.

Deliver 1 Bill of Sale to Murderous Mal - The Buried Sea

Your task 'Deliver The Goods' has been updated.

You've delivered that package and returned with the bill of sale.

Your faction standing with Blacksail Smugglers got better.

You have successfully been granted your reward for: Deliver The Goods

You will always be offered experience and faction. Additional reward options open up if you have already completed other tasks on Jardel's Hook.

This is a typical stupid Everquest quest. You have to do research outside the game to figure out what to do.

Im a 80 cleric soloed this. Root the 2 girl brigands and kill troll. Use renewal have DI on use Val of victory vie and retribution. Easy deal. Move around some and pop renewal on yourself if you get low health. A heal spell is too slow and at half heal effectiveness they are crap so use renewal and a pot here adn there. Dont use hot pot cause the val victory cast recourse that over writes the hot pot. Use your shield too its fast 2k heal or so and you might exceptional. Renewal is best. Its a fast recast. So run off to give yourself a lil room cast renewal then run till it hits. tank the 3 if yea need to but best to root one off or both and just keep doing it untill you thin them out. I was able to tank the 3 and a add animate skel for short period untill I got a few roots going. But I do have 21k hp and like 3200 ac.
Dont know everything....I have only played since MAY99

I found the best way to druid solo this task:

    1. Immediatley after turning in the package, cast camo and back up.
    2. When you see the mobs running towards you, target the troll.
    3. Back up and cast snare (they resist alot so you will probaly have to do this more than once!)Make sure you have second life on and mellee guard ready just in case. Also have heal pots handy!
    4. After the troll is snared hit exodus (make sure you note where the troll is standing so you dont lose him!)
    5. Re camo and run back to where you left him. The other mobs will have despawned as long as you did not snare or root them. This way you can get the troll solo.
    What should I do?

Wasn't paying attention to quest info, I turned in the package of goods and got ambushed. Anyhow, being a warrior and can't kite or heal, I ran as fast as I could to the tox zoneline. My question is, how do I respawn these 3 guys, hailing Silverlip and doing text does not do it, do I need to drop the task and get a new one ?

After turn in... camo and run up top the hill.

then i used the AE snare (the old one worked - didnt have new one) and that snared 2 of the 3.

Was just a matter of using regular snare and root after that to keep them under control

kill the ogre 1st if u dont have mana to kill them all.

I delivered the goods to Slim and the next thing it says to do is deliver a bill of sale to Mal. I did not get a bill of sale tho. Anyone else who has done this?

Tried this solo, when you hand the package to Slim, 3 mobs spawn nearby and agro; 1 lvl 75 and 2 70-74 (Dk. Blue to 75). All are snareable and don't summon although I was killed by a few adds trying to kite them. I would assume the Bill of Sale is dropped by the lvl 75. I don't recall the names of the mobs now :(.

Kited the troll mob to death with Clawstriker's Flurry as a Monk... took a long time to do this, maximum of 5% of HP off per 30 seconds... but it did work.

By the way: the rewards vary with how many you've done in this "series" -- when I got this task to complete there were 9 rewards with 1 cash option and the rest being various Jonas bones.

Kited the troll mob to death with Clawstriker's Flurry as a Monk

Thanks for the suggestion! I did this in a group for my own Jonas' Hand aug, and later came back to do it "duoing" my 79 monk and my 74 cleric. I just couldn't hold aggro on all three mobs, and no matter how far I split them (even using Echo of Deception = mez + mem blur) the two smaller mobs kept coming after me once they woke up, and then the cleric would get aggro, and it was a mess. But your idea worked for just soloing the one while kiting all three.

At level 79 it goes a bit faster: Wheel of Fists is an upgrade to Clawstriker, and either can be boosted for one or two strikes with Scaledfist and Crystalpalm. My biggest single round was a shade over 16K. When it was around 12% I clicked Impenetrable and stopped to fight it down. Took about 6 minutes.

When you hand in the package to Slim, after about 10 seconds, 3 mobs spawn about 30 feet away and rush over to Slim. They will just stand there if your not in aggro range. Two of them are always dark blue but the third is usually a white con at 75 (once spawned as yellow to me). All three mobs are rootable and mezzable. As a chanter I was able to solo this by mezzing all three, rooting the bigger mob and then charming a dark blue to attack him with. The dark blue would get him down to about 50% before dying. I would then charm the other and send him in to finish the job.

This is a hard way to do it. The mobs are all pretty resistant to magic and charm never seemed to last more two minutes in a stretch.

Once the main mob is dead, you loot the Bill of Sale from him and the next and final stage of the quest is to return it to Murderous Mal.

    The stages are:

Deliver 1 Package of Goods to Silverlip Slim (Barren Coast)
Loot 1 Bill of Sale (The Barren Coast)
Return the Bill of Sale to Murderous Mal (The Buried Sea)
