Ulan Meadowgreen is located (119, -2192) in the centaur encampment in South Karana.

You say, 'Hail, Ulan Meadowgreen'

Ulan Meadowgreen says 'Greetings. I am Ulan Meadowgreen of the family Meadowgreen. My brother and I are the best armorers in all of Norrath. We craft [armor] for the bravest warriors in the land. If you are a warrior of renown, and are interested in our armor, I have some mighty [labors] you might wish to attempt for me.'

You say, 'What labors?'

Ulan Meadowgreen says 'Only those who can prove themselves mighty warriors deserve to wear our crafted armor. While my brother prefers trophies, I seek instead tasks which will help my craft and my people.'

You say, 'What armor?'

Ulan Meadowgreen says 'I smith [bracers], [greaves], [pauldrons] and [breastplates]. My brother Shakrn smiths helms, gauntlets, boots and vambraces.'

You say, 'What breastplates?'

Ulan Meadowgreen says 'Deep within the depths of Castle Mistmoore lives a particularly deadly clan of werewolves. These are the servants of [Mayong], and he has enchanted the most ferocious of them that their talons might cut through steel. I wish to study these talons, and see if I can transfer the enchantments from them to the crafted armor I make. If you bring me werewolf talons and 3 [rubies], I will give you a breastplate, the likes of which you have never before seen.'

You say, 'Who is Mayong?'

Ulan Meadowgreen says 'Mayong Mistmoore is the ruler of Castle Mistmoore. He has ruled there for centuries, and will most likely rule for centuries more to come. It is said that he does not age.'

Rubies may be purchased from several merchants. A Werewolf Talon drops from gypsy musicians in the ballroom area of Castle Mistmoore.

Upon Handing in three rubies and a Werewolf Talon:

Ulan Meadowgreen says 'Wait, ______, are you not forgetting something?'
Ulan Meadowgreen says 'Wait, ______, are you not forgetting something?'
Ulan Meadowgreen says 'Wait, ______, are you not forgetting something?'
Ulan Meadowgreen says 'I am most impressed that you have returned from Castle Mistmoore with a werewolf talon. You have justly earned your crafted breastplate.'
You gain experience!!

just a quick two cp worth. was board one night with KEI almost gone and no one casting for quite some time so i went into MM for MMbattle drums. was no problem to clear this room with pet and buffs. Only semi prob was a caster or two in back rooms near kitchen. Thought i could getta few items back there but no luck. Never got the drums either but got talons when night time came.Sometimes i go back there for factions and items but they all seem rare.

I need to know if halfling warriors can wear crafted armor that doesnt say small. i have a woodelf warrior which was a big mistake at the time so im changing it to halfling. if i cant use the regular crafted armor on the halfling, is there a way to make the crafted small because i remember something about doing that for some gold in Karana.

Your right about the gold, but it's not the karanas. There are two dwarves in front of the inn in West Commons. I dont know exactly, but I think oyur faction has to be really high for them to give you back your armor. again, I am not sure.

Last night I gave a tell to some guild members and they agreed to help me obtain the werewolf talon. Our little band of adventures consisted of Myself a 28th lev Warrior,Our Champion a lev 57 warrior,Cleric lev 48,Our caster a 49 lev mag and a 33 lev Paly. It went like this Our main tank cleared the way to the entrance of the castle with no difficulity and began to clear the first rooms pulling to the ledge, this went well until I joined him in the ballroom he I mistook a tell and pulled the Gypsys. thats when all hell broke loose I wish I had time to get a screen shot.By me hitting the mob at 28 it agroed the whole dam castle and we found ourselves in deep ****! We held em off for a good 10 mins but there were just to many. And we all went down in a Blaze of Glory!Well our caster brought on her alt who was camped at the sone a 46 dru and draged our sorry asses back to the zone. Our cleric rezed all and decided to give it another go.Our Champion then informed me of my gross error. Don't try to pull in there if your under 30 i don't know where the line is that they wont agro you but it's probobly about 34 or so. Anyway back we go This time with the Champ doing all the pulling to the ledge. We cleared the rooms took out all the Musicians and guess what NO DROP DAMM, The mobs started to respawn so another round. Hey This is working pretty good were gona get the damm thing after all. Well thats when the sun went down and Here comes Hell on 2 legs 20 or so Mobs agroed on the 2nd time pulling the Musicians and Were dead again! It's darm hard to taunt 7 or 8 mobs of your healer at once. We knew It was a lost cause so we bailed to the zone we made it about halfway and died all But The 57 tank He went LD. This ZONE is one tough Mutha! I haven't had this much fun since I started playing we were on till 2;30 est and after another round of Rezzing, Called it a night. Good luck with this one. I think I'll go make a Fine Plate BP Die it Blue and call it Done deal!
Question
# Apr 01 2002 at 4:06 PM Rating: Default
I am a twenty something halfling warrior newbie. I was given some nice fine steel armor by a kindly soul. How and when is a realistic time to try and quest for this breastplate? The quest seems very difficult.
RE: Question
# Apr 01 2002 at 5:45 PM Rating: Good
Sadly, this is the worst of the crafted pieces as far as the Allakhazam level rating. You simply Cannot get the werewolf talon in your twenties. I am a 30 warrior myself, and I still cannot get too far into Mistmoore, even in a group. I am waiting to either get my 40 something guild friends to escort me in to the castle to loot, or to sweet talk them into multi questing it for me (If you don't know what that is, they loot and go with you to the centaurs. They give the talon, then you give the rest of the items and you get the quest piece). Too bad, too, as this is a good piece of armor for our level.

Unless you're after the piddling small amount of experience from the quest, there is no need to multiquest this, its not no drop. If a friend has the talon, just give them the rubies, and have them get it. too many things can go wrong in a multiquest.
How To - 51 Necromancer
# Mar 27 2002 at 1:02 PM Rating: Decent
At 51 most of the mobs will con green but will still attack you if you wander into their agro range. You can use this to your benefit. I used a pet that hit for 51 (if you want you can ***** around and get your 55 hitter) and fought my way into the plateau in front of the entrance bridge to the castle. Camp you pet in the middle of this platform. I was in Lich Form for mana. By 51 you should know how to pull green mobs one at a time without training yourself. Clear out the entry way, then the staircase room. If you just stand by the entry into the staircase room you can agro the single usher or nasty that stands by the doorway. Do this to each doorway into the room then single pull the gargoyles. Pull the mobs out of the castle onto the platform where you parked your pet. Keep a tight reign on your pet and do not allow him into the castle to fight, it is safer to always fight out front. Repeat this until you clean out the entire stairway room. Now you enter the area under the balcony which is the entrance to the Gypsy room. Caution is advised here. The piano room is the the right and contains at least an usher and a gargoyle. To your left is where the Gypsy Ambassador and Negotiator are in discussions. I cleared the area under the stairway by single pulling then cleared the obvious mobs near the piano room. Then I carefully started pulling the ushers out of the Gypsy room one by one until all that was left in the room was the Gypsies and a caster who stood at the far back of the room. Once you clear the area under that balcony use the right entrance to pull from to avoid a accidental agro from the Negotiator. Before you know it you can step all the way into the Gypsy room and single pull your mobs outside. I got a werewolf talon on my first Gypsy pull. Lucky or maybe its a common drop, I didn't stick around to find out because the platform spawn where I parked my pet respawned and I chose to gate out rather than waste any more time. It may be posibble to camp the Gypsy room at 51 but I wouldn't try it myself. Most likely what will happen is when you sit down the mobs in the other rooms will agro and the whole castle will train you. That is how I did it. Very easy to do if you are patient, just do not be too slow, you are trying to beat the respawn. One last thing...I have had one bad experience with the Negotiator. At 51 you will be charmed without a decent resist, and death usually will result shortly. Funny to experience but difficult to get a res in this zone.

North Freeport (Blue building near one of the zone lines to WFP) has them.

Erudan City has them as well (in the "mall area").

I am sure there are more. 105pp each at least (enchanter using benevolence + radiant visage + lots of cha gear) to buy.

So this BP will cost 105 x 3 at least ;)

Lol nothing in that zone should even land a charm on a 55 wizard and to camp the gypsy room You do not pull them out you fight them in the room or you get more adds than you can shake a stick at. The Talon is no drop but it doesnt matter ive turned it in and gotten the Crafted Bp.

None of the centaurs have ever conned anything but indifferent, except after attacked. :) I play on the Seventh Hammer server. Hope this helps.

Can anyone turn in the items and get crafted, or do you have to be a warrior? I assume that since the druid and the mage in the posts below looted the no drop talon that anyone can do it. Or is there a trick to it?

I'd appreciate knowing before I try it the first time! I'd like to get my warrior out of banded armor, she's a but under-equipped for level 20 on my server.

Thanks

First off, your server has nothing to do with whether you are under equipped or not.

And Secondly, anyone can do the crafted quests.

Gees you could have been a little nicer about it. I have heard the servers vary in term of twinkedness. I logged on to follow up on my earlier thread. I took the chance and turned the items in for the bracers and it worked.

So yes, at the moment, this information that you read on the internet works, and anyone CAN do the crafted quests.

Sorry Moonspinner but whether you are on a server with ungodly numbers of twinks like Fennin Ro or Prexus (going from those I have talked to on how rampant it is) or whether you are on a server with a low number of them like FV, you arent "underequipped" just because everyone else twinks. They are simply OVER equipped so they can make it thru the levels with less risk.

From a server with plenty of twinks of which I am not counted as one....

I made a character on Vallon Zek recently. I'd say the average level 1 character has some 3-5k worth of gear. I only had about 150pp worth (from a friend). Usually 150pp is good for a level 1.
Buying Gems
# Jan 26 2002 at 7:14 AM Rating: Default
FYI best way to buy gems is to make yourself a High Elf Enchanter and put 25 points into CHA... bring your CHA to a wopping 115, with that CHA you can purchuse all the gems for 1/4th off the normal cost or something close to that... the only thing that sucks about this is that you need a friend to help you because verant and there infinate wisdom decided to make PP non droppable
RE: Buying Gems
# Mar 21 2002 at 12:02 AM Rating: Decent
Bards tend not to have that problem seeing as they have a song that increases your cha with an npc expotentially. Heh, i still have a 110 cha tho, 90 base. Go figure.

Open Letter to Verant: New Crafted & Plate BPs are UGLY!
# Dec 11 2001 at 6:52 PM Rating: Default
An Open Letter to Verant:

The new Lucin graphic for plate breastplates (including Warrior crafted, Fine Plate, and Chiton Protectors, etc.) is just plain UGLY!

The old look was MUCH better! Please! Now Banded tunics looks better than my warrior crafted BP!

Before and after shots of Crafted BP on a hafling: http://www.worlddomination.net/eqteam/gallery/?image=140 (new is on the right)

Before and after shots of Chiton Protector on a hafling:
http://www.worlddomination.net/eqteam/gallery/?image=141 (new is on the left)

Please put some detailing onto the BP graphic so it doesn't look like a baggy saggy old sweatshirt! The new BPs look like Dr. Zoiberg (from Futurama)'s lobster shell. It is especially horrible on a hafling. Very wierd shaped and no detail, etching, etc. at all on it. Where did my womanly shape go?

The crafted shoulders, gloves, boots, all look good.

All of the other new mob, face, clothing graphics (especially ROBES!) look AWESOME, keep up the good work. My Erudite Wizardess is especially pleased.

But please please revisit the plate BP look ASAP. I think Warriors (and others who wear plate) got the short end of the stick here, and I am guessing I'm not alone in prefering the old look (very nice scrollwork on the BP) to the new look (baggy sweatshirt).

Please post on the official everquest developers board if you would like to see this graphic improved. The web address is http://boards.station.sony.com/ubb/everquest/cgi-bin/forumdisplay.cgi?action=topics&forum=Developer|APO|s+Corner&number=1&DaysPrune=20&LastLogin=

Guilds Rock!
# Nov 04 2001 at 10:01 AM Rating: Good
Hiya!

I was collecting the quest items needed for the various Crafted Armour quests when my journeys took me to Castle Mistmoore. After doing some Allakazam research, I found it to be like any other EverQuest dungeon: unfriendly to soloers, sparcely camped and subject to "horrendous trains the likes few players have *ever* seen". Plus I had to travel through Lesser Faydark, the "Kithicor Forest" of Faydwer to even get there.
Great. Another deathtrap zone I gotta run around in to get one lousy drop. Since undead spawn at night, I can't run around Invis forever and my pet'll probably aggro everything but the kitchen sink. How do I get myself into these situations?
Sure enough camping Mistmoore for the first couple of times was everything I expected: dead bodies at the zone (there was only three there, maybe it was a slow week?), I was the only occupant for the several days I looked around and I didn't make it past the Tower with my pet without aggroing a half dozen mobs. Sigh. I decided to come back later and try peeking around when the zone was probably more busy (like a Saturday night).
Sure enough, there was about a dozen people hunting in MM when I zoned in just before 10pm, but none of them were interested in giving me the time of day, let alone a group and that Talon. I pulled the greenies out in front and suceeded in getting only loose change and some rusty weapons. Sigh, again. I quickly got dejected and thought about camping for the night.

Suddenly, there was six new players zoning in. Then more...and more...and more. And they're all from the same guild. Yippee, I thought, a Guild Raid! They'll have to clear all the trash from here to the castle and ultimately get inside! I could follow them in and, politely, ask to loot Gypsies for the Talon! As a bonus, I knew one of the raiders (Prytty) from a previous stint in High Pass Hold and asked her for permission to loot any Gypsies that drop. This night was looking up after all!
After several minutes of pre-raid planning, they formed up into groups and started moving towards the castle with military precision killing all the mobs in site. Luckily, I heard beforehand to stay behind the lead puller (Ruba) so I made a point to keep in the back. It took them about ten minutes to steamroll through the mobs leading to the castle and into the front gate. I looted a couple of bodies without losing the Guilds (getting lost right now would've been a Bad Idea) and soon found myself inside.
Eventually, they hit the Ballroom and cleaned out the mobs (including a few Gypsies). I then politely asked if I could loot the Gypsiesand they said yes. While the guilds were dancing on the Ballroom floor, I found the Talon on the second gypsy, gave my thanks and promptly Gated out. Next stop is either Najena or Permfrost for the rest of the Crafted Armour quests.

I'd like to thank the Ale Trained Fighters and Triumvarate Tenere guilds for giving me the opportunity to get into the castle (I CONd some of the mobs leading up to the castle and there was *no* way I'd make it past them) and allowing me to loot some gypsies for my quest. You guys and gals rock! Hanging out in MM with you would've been cool, but one bad aggro and I would've ended up back on the far end of LF which would've been exceptionally bad. Besides, you were there for a raid and business is business. I'd like to especially thank Prytty and Ruba for being kind to me in that deathtrap of a zone and letting me loot the Gypsies.

Hope you got the Epic Quest items!

# Oct 04 2001 at 8:07 AM Rating: Decent
The talon is no drop, but it can be multiquested, at least you used to be able to. Who needs a charisma buff? just make an enchanter, I make one just for buying gems, and other such expensive items from merchants. My former guild liked to raid mistmoore, and we picked up a few talons just for kicks and twinking whenever we'd go in.
Correction...
# Sep 27 2001 at 12:31 PM Rating: Default
The crafted that is a result of this quest is not "unsized". It is medium in size, and can only be worn by races that can wear medium armour.

The dwarves in West Commons can resize it to small. I don't know who or where the NPC is to resize it to large for ogres and trolls.

cheers
RE: Correction...
# Nov 17 2001 at 2:06 PM Rating: Default
The size of the object is medium, not the size of the armor. All crafted is magic and unsized until given to the Dwarves in WC for resizing to small.
RE: Correction...
# Oct 24 2001 at 11:36 PM Rating: Decent
Correction

This armor is unsized in all my experiences. I have put it on ogres and on gnomes. It fits all races. Also, I have taken it from a hafling and put the same BP (and the rest of the set) on an ogre without resizing.

I know there is an NPC that is there to resize it for you.. but I have never needed to use him, I have no idea why they put him in the game.
RE: Correction...
# Oct 25 2001 at 8:15 AM Rating: Decent
Well, the resized crafted armor is a lot lighter. All other stats remain the same. The small races like gnome or halfling don't have the same base strenght as a troll or ogre so a whole set of crafted is pretty heavy. You can save a couple of pounds by resizing your crafted armor but will have some trouble to sell it later since it wont fit larger races anymore.
