This task begins with Commander Haesgrin in Valdeholm (map location posted here) and results in a significant faction boost for Wraithguard Leadership. Completion of Haesgrin's other tasks are NOT required, and this task may be repeated as often as you want.

You must have at least kindly faction with Wraithguard Leadership in order to request this task.

You say, 'Hail Commander Haesgrin'

Commander Haesgrin says 'My duties keep me here, watching out for my men. I have a [job] for a mercenary such as yourself... if you are willing to help and old giant.'

You say, 'What job?'

Commander Haesgrin says 'With all the trouble we've been having with the shades of late we're running a bit short on soldiers to take care of it all. If you are truely looking to help there is always [hunting] the shades. We can never eliminate enough of them. There are also some issues with our [supplies] and equipment. And as if that wasn't enough I've recently been receiving some disturbing [reports] from one of our top shade hunters, Grethmar.'

You say, 'Hunting?'

Commander Haesgrin says 'If you think you're ready to face them go to the crypt and kill asmany as you can. Bring me any of the marks they carry to show what you have accomplished and i will do what i can to reward your efforts.'

You have been assigned the task 'Shade Bounty'.

Many undead Shades have been created since the curse was delivered by the god Rallos Zek. The curse serves as the Krithgor's punishment for desertion during Rallos' war with the rest of the Norrathian Pantheon. The curse transforms all giants on death into Shades of Zek which then hunt the living. The Shades carry Marks of Rallos Zek with them during the hunt in the hopes that they will incur the deity's mercy and be freed from the effects of the curse.

Commander Haesgrin leads the Wraithguard who destroy these Shades to protect the living giants in Valdeholm. Turn any Marks of Rallos Zek into Commander Haesgrin as proof of your kills. If you bring in enough, the Wraithguard may begin to view you as a ally.

Marks of Rallos Zek are dropped randomly in Frostcrypt. These may be pre-looted.
