This task begins with Fergarin Bardon I in Valdeholm, who is located in the back room behind Wraithguard Heimgul (/loc?).
You say, 'Hail, Fergarin Bardon I' Fergarin Bardon I says 'Greetings ______. I have heard of your work for the Wraithguard lately. Perhaps you would be wiling to assist me and my followers in a small [journey]. Or, if you are more interested in doing me a more...Personal favor, there is some [information] that you could gather for me. It might even be possible for us to help [each other].' You say, 'What journey?' Fergarin Bardon I says 'Since the days of the curse many of my people have given up their worship of any god, though they maintain their respect for them. However, there was once a time when we began to branch out theistically. An altar was built near Krithgor, now abandoned, where those that chose not to worship Rallos could go and perform our rites. There is still a small sect that continues that practice, though the [perils] are now greater than ever before.' You say, 'What perils?' Fergarin Bardon I says 'My people do not look kindly on worship of any gods these days, even if it is not Rallos. Aside from their opinions, though, we must face the threat of the shades during the night, the wrath of our former servants during the day, and the threat of the wildlife along the way at all times. It is for this reason that I wish to enlist your aid. We have need of an impartial force to watch over us while we perform our devotions. What say you? Will you [help] us?' You say, 'I will help you.' Fergarin Bardon I says 'Good. If you can help us sneak out of the city unseen, then we can begin our journey.' You have been assigned the task 'Altar Escort'. Fergarin has asked you to protect some pilgrims on their journey to their altar. Put the sleeping draught into the cask of ale, quietly and without harm to the Wraithguard (Valdeholm) Place the sleep draught that you were given into the open cask in the Wraithguard area. Don't be seen and please do not harm any of the Wraithguard while doing this. You receive a Sleep Spore Draught. Meet the pilgrims north of the broken spire on the top of the Icefall Glacier (Icefall Glacier) Speak with Krithgor ritesmaster (Icefall Glacier) Protect the pilgrims as they travel south. (Icefall Glacier) Meet the pilgrims on the switchback leading down into The Steppes. (The Steppes) Speak with Krithgor ritesmaster (The Steppes) Protect the pilgrims as they travel south. (The Steppes) Guard the pilgrims as they pray (The Steppes) Speak with Krithgor ritesmaster (The Steppes) Protect the pilgrims as they travel north. (The Steppes) Meet the pilgrims at the well in the ruins of Krithgor. I did the the first step: Put the sleeping draught into the cask of ale, quietly and without harm to the Wraitguard, i got the update so i go to the next one Meet the pilgrims near the broken spire at the top of Icefall Glacier and the giants were no where in the zone that i could find is it broken?

I have been all over the steppes and cant locate any type of temple ,any loc , describtion or anything on this ?? I have been through every ruin on both sides of the darkfell fields , there is NO TEMPLE on the right side . There are ruins etc but no temple .

this is a group task (shows up as pink in the quest window).. but can be requested solo. so should read:
Group Size: Solo or Group (?)
Min. # of Players: 1
Max. # of Players: 6
you might even be able to techinically have more than 6 because you can make someone else the task leader or they can add new people. so someone who is able to request the task can do so for a group, make someone eles the task leader, then quit the task and request it again for another group. I can't confirm if this is repeatable or not yet. i probably wont do this quest since it does not appear to be part of the raid access progression,

after getting task step completion flag, a Kritgor Ritesmaster and two pilgrims spawn
Using commands "move" and "wait" to control their movement, they move south Other NPC mobs in area dont aggro on them so you can invis to move. Half way down two Shades of Zek run in from the north and attack They hit for about 1600 quad.
This step requires some assistance. I died on first attempt and the shades killed the pilgrims. So while the task is rated solo you need a group to do it
after getting task step completion flag, a Kritgor Ritesmaster and two pilgrims spawn

This step requires some assistance. I died on first attempt and the shades killed the pilgrims. So while the task is rated solo you need a group to do it
By far, a very fun quest. I didn't log all the text, but here is the gist:
Get the quest, zone into Icefall. Go down a bit past the tracker ruins. The Pilgrams spawn, control them to follow/wait. They begin moving toward the Steppes. 2-3 waves of spans will attack them along the way. Have them wait and kill adds. Having a mezzer/bard is a neccessity for these waves. Follow the progression and quest update tree. They zone into the steppes and head down the right side of the gnoll field to a small temple. More attacks along the way. 4-6 mobs per spawn. At the temple you have to repel more attacks of various mobs. (6-8) I ended up off tanking and healing at this point. Finish this step and return to Icefall. They will reappear and head to ruins area. A named/boss mob and 2-3 adds spawn. Kill these and follow task to completion.
We did this with 75 Bard, 75 Zerker, me, 73 druid bot, 75 shaman, and 75 cleric. 4 of the 5 of us in anguish/DP/DK/POR gear.
Also, even though this is a group task, people outside of the group can help you complete this group task. Just make sure you get the kill on the finally named.
-important- in between attacks, travel invis as the giants move to the next ambush spot.
This is definitely one of the best quests I have done from this expansion.
