Zhubis #3: The Weakest Link

This is the third task in a series of three. It begins with Zhubis the Griffin Tamer at location +960, -1045 in Direwind (this is south of Gatekeeper Kor, on the other side of the valley).
You say, 'Hail, Zhubis the Griffin Tamer' Zhubis the Griffin Tamer glances from side to side, to ensure no one is watching, 'You've got a lot of nerve coming here, _____. I'll give you that. There's something different about you, isn't there? It's the hatred in your eyes.. I find it quite unmistakable. You have been yearning for more than sticking it to Dyn`leth, you look as if you are ready to [challenge him] yourself. If your desire to see him fall is not yet as great as mine, I welcome you to continue aiding me in more of my menial but [essential tasks] to whittle away at the empire he has grown.' You say, 'Challenge him?' Zhubis the Griffin Tamer brandishes his blade and hisses, 'Away from me, idiot. Do not make me do something I'll regret... your presence here will get us both killed.' You say, 'Essential tasks?' Zhubis the Griffin Tamer nods, 'Then we are of the same mind, and this meeting is a fortuitous one. I'm not sure how you knew that I wished to speak to an outsider. I told no one. If I had it would have meant my execution. What I do understand is that I was born into a world for someone else's cause, meant to die for someone else's flawed beliefs. Though this has afforded me some interesting [information] that I could share.' You say, 'What information?' Zhubis the Griffin Tamer says 'With my inside knowledge of Dyn`leth's army and the temple, I'm sure we could wreak some havoc on the inner workings of Ashengate.' You have been assigned the task 'The Weakest Link'. You didn't hear this from me, but one could do a lot of damage in Ashengate if one pinpointed the hatchery. The birthing of new progeny is critical to the success of Dyn`leth's army and it would cause irreparable damage were that to be interrupted. The guardians that carry the unhatched eggs from one place to another are relatively unprotected and easily ambushed. Once they are out of the way, chaos will quickly ensue. Kill 15 Scarlet Legion Eggtenders - Ashengate, Reliquary of the Scale Kill 5 Unhatched Griffon Eggs - Ashengate, Reliquary of the Scale In the far reaches of the eastern wing of Ashengate you will find the hatchery. Inform Zhubis that the deed is done - Direwind Cliffs You say, 'Hail, Zhubis the Griffin Tamer' You have received a character flag! Zhubis nods, 'Yes, one could do a lot of damage, couldn't they?' Your faction standing with Infiltrators and Traitors of Ashengate got better. You gain experience!! You have successfully been granted your reward for: The Weakest Link Chipped Fang of the Lost | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

Still 225 with little to no HCha on Aradune server, TSS era.
If you can work your way through to the Eggtenders, then getting the kills is quite straightforward, just be careful not to rush in when you reach the area as there are some mobs around the corners of the entrance and you will pick up a lot of adds.

Depending on what you already have accomplished.
In this case if you have the key to the back gates (which I would suggest be an early/combined goal just like/along with the ideas listed below). In other words if you ever make it all the way East DO NOT leave without getting yourself the Key of Flame. By far the easiest way to get far East is to go North (especially if FD or outrun agro. range, etc.), just remember to Lev. all your party for the lava (including Mercs.) before you make the run from the entrance hall.
Then drop off the nearest stone bridge in the East and be transported back to Direwind, pretty close to an evac for any class. Getting back and forth this way is a breeze compared to "the old fashioned way".

In my experience with the TSS progression tasks, I figure that it would be useful for me to post my knowledge here in hopes to make it easier for those of you who are researching it for yourself. This particular task is completed in the eastern wing of Ashengate, in the VERY far northern end of the wing. It will take a strong group who has the time to dedicate to this rather lengthy trek. One suggestion though. There is another task in the progression through Ashengate that also takes place in the same part of the zone. If at all possible, get yourself both of the tasks and knock out 2 birds with one stone. Pezripisid Task #3 Violence Begets Violence involves killing the same mobs as this task, there is an additional named kill that must be completed for that task but you will be much relieved to be able to complete 2 at once, given the difficulty of getting to the area and the difficulty of the mobs. Bring CC, a hefty tank w/ most to all defensive aa's and a solid mana pooled healer. The experience is very rewarding but as with everything rewarding, there is a risk.

I agree Ashengate factioning is easy if you plan it right. You can max faction on both side in 6 nights or less if you plan it right. West side make sure you have one quest from each NPC and run the whole wing 3 times (or if you want go back and get Pullizi 2 before running the entier wing first time). West wing, do the Perepsid one and 2 first outside ashengate then get Perepside 3 and Zhubris 1. For the north wing scetching tasks, you can do it all in 1 night if you have a fellowship campfire.
