Save the Queen #4: Parts For a Cure

This task is the fourth in a series of five. It begins with Ekaterina at location -520, -930, 23 (southern edge of the lake in the eastern part of the zone).
At the end of the previous task: Ekaterina tells you, 'Oh dear, there seems to be no no link between what happened to my poor queen and those others. You must help me and go see Ramona. She is on top of the mesa. Will you [go see Ramona]?' You say, 'I will go see Ramona.' Ekaterina says 'Oh thank you. Please do not dally. Go see her right away.' You have been assigned the task 'Parts For a Cure'. Speak with Ramona 0/1 (Goru`kar Mesa) Head to Ramona on the mesa at -543.00, +59.47, +179.48. You say 'Hail, Ramona' Ramona says 'Thank you for proving your ability to Ekaterina. We have been seeking a cure for our poor Queen, Nhyalea. I believe we have found an ancient remedy that speaks of a condition similar to what the Queen has. What I [require] from you for the cure will be difficult.' You say, 'What do you require?' Ramona says 'Collect the parts on this list for me. These will only be on hearty representatives of each species, so it may take you a while to find all of the parts.' Loot 1 Puma Paw from a mountain puma 0/1 (Blackfeather Roost) Loot 1 Mountain Recluse Venom Sac from a mountain recluse 0/1 (Blackfeather Roost) 1st island bears in the cave need to stay killed so that they don't get to kill the spiders that spawn there too. Loot 1 Snake Fang from a mountain snake 0/1 (Blackfeather Roost) Zone into Blackfeather Roost. These mobs can be sparse, but all three are available on the first island. Deliver 1 Puma Paw to Ramona 0/1 (Goru`kar Mesa) Deliver 1 Mountain Recluse Venom Sac to Ramona 0/1 (Goru`kar Mesa) Deliver 1 Snake Fang to Ramona 0/1 (Goru`kar Mesa) Speak to Ramona 0/1 (Goru`kar Mesa) You say, 'Hail, Ramona' Ramona says 'You've done very well, _____. This should do the trick! Quickly, take this to Ekaterina.' You receive a "Potent Antidote". Return to Ekaterina with the cure 0/1 (Goru`kar Mesa) Ekaterina tells you, 'Oh this is great. We can cure her! Thank you so much dry one. I am not able to survive her guards myself. If you are willing to see this too the end, can you [deliver] the cure?' Your faction standing with Nymphs of the Windwillow got better. Your faction standing with Minohten got better. Your faction standing with Nymphs of the Darkwater got worse. You gain experience!! Completing this unlocks the final task in the series, "Tunare Save the Queen." | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

Yes, you have to go all the way back into that spiral area where the other nymphs are.
1st island bears in the cave need to stay killed so that they don't get to kill the spiders that spawn there too. --> Much easier to make that venom sac drop.

Yes the Snake Fang seems to have become a rare drop from the snakes in Blackfeather. A couple of notes: 1) only the Mountain Snakes will drop the Fang ( the Poisonous and Injured do not) 2) use what you get. It took 3 trips to Blackfeather for me to get 1 Fang. The Pearlescent give some plat and the eggs help you up Baking skill ( I ended up with 80 + eggs before I got the Fang ) 3) Patience is a virtue, not everything will drop into your lap.

A Poisonous Mountain Snake does drop the snake fang. It seems just as rare as the regular drop, though.
Yeah this sux big time. At least 30 a mountain snake and not a single snake fang. I have seen Pearlescent Snake Fang but they don't count towards this task. I have 4 characters that need a snake fang each. This is going to take many hours at this rate. Maybe even days with other people in the area killing the snakes as well. EDIT: 3rd clearing after this post 3 snake fangs dropped from 3 separate a mountain snake. Killed 3 a mountain snake next spawn and the third one dropped the other snake fang that i needed.

Ok ... have been killin snakes in Blackfeather Roost ALL DAY! Haven't seen 1 snake fang (1 of the most ommon drops in the game) ... tried looting 1 in the Mesa, it didn't update the quest. The only fang I've seen drop here is a pearlescent snake fang. Is this bugged?
took me roughly 2 hours of clearing the first area until one of the a_mountain_snakes finally dropped 1 snake fang.
