    This task begins with Scout Madu at location -1950, 530, 26 in Goru`kar Mesa (just west of the Blightfire Moors zone).

    You say, 'Hail, Scout Madu'

    Scout Madu says 'Well met traveler. I have been asked to keep an eye on this area and to attempt to reduce any threats to Crescent Reach that might arise. I can always use someone that has the will to attempt dangerous scouting missions, if you're able to deal with the [unusual folk] that live in these parts.'

    You say, 'What unusual folk?'

    Scout Madu says 'It was the oddest thing. This fellow that I don't know, one with the legs of a deer and the face of a human, stumbled into me the other day. And I mean stumbled literally. It seems that he had been very deep in his cups. He kept rambling on about his brother betraying him, but I never could get more out of him before he wandered off. How odd of him. Sorry. I do not know why you made me think of him, you obviously have your [wits] about you.'

    You say, 'I have my wits.'

    Scout Madu says 'Yes. Yes you do. If you would like to explore the area, I'm certain that Vulu over there has some work for you. But if you're looking for something more interesting than just wandering around, I might have some [tasks] that are a bit more dangerous that you could undertake for me.'

    You say, 'What tasks?'

    Scout Madu says 'I have many tasks available, but most of them require that you have much experience. When you think you are ready, come back to me and ask me about my more [difficult] tasks. In the meantime I have some tasks for ones with less experience, and I will even reward ones who help me with some [extra armor].'

    You say, 'What about your more difficult tasks?'

    Scout Madu says 'There are two types of creatures in this area that concern me as much as the gryphons and harpies. This is the [dromrek] and the [centaur].'

    You say, 'What centaur?'

    Scout Madu says 'The centaur to the northwest are a violent sort. I had heard that centaurs were not normally this violent, so it disturbs me that these are. In one of my early forays, before I was permanently assigned this post, I saw a small camp of centaur to the south of their main encampment. If you are interested, I would like you to [see what you can find].'

    You say, 'I'll see what I can find.'

    Scout Madu says 'You will not need to come back to see me on this, I will trust in your ability to investigate and act on the matter yourself.'

    You have been assigned the task 'Centaur Troubles (Part 1) - Prove Yourself'.




  • 1. Find the friendly centaurs 0/1 (Goru'kar Mesa)

    This updates near 245, -555 (north of the lake).


  • 2. Hail Klassr 0/1 (Goru'kar Mesa)

    Klassr is located at 145, -620 (near Stormwren).

    You say, 'Hail, Klassr'

    Klassr says 'Well hello two legs. I cannot speak with you right now. My heart is too [heavy].'

    You say, 'Why is it heavy?'

    Klassr says 'A great calamity has befallen my people and I must [search] out the cause. I wish you well but I must turn my thoughts to other things now.'

    You say, 'Search?'

    Klassr says 'I am sorry two legs. This is far too important a matter to trust to someone I do not know. You must first [prove] yourself to me if you would help.'

    You say, 'I will prove myself.'

    Klassr says 'Very well two legs. To prove to me you are strong enough to help me go and kill 4 Mesa Widows, 8 Highland Snakes, and 2 Harpies. Return when you have succeeded.'

    Snakes are near Dromrek, while the harpies and widows are in the northwest corner of the zone.


  • 3. Kill 4 a mesa widow 0/4 (Goru'kar Mesa)

    Mesa widows are found in the western part of the zone.


  • 4. Kill 8 a highland snake 0/8 (Goru'kar Mesa)

    Highland snakes are found among the Dromrek giants.


  • 5. Kill 2 harpies 0/2 (Goru'kar Mesa)

    Any harpies in the Mesa count.

    Faction hits from killing harpies:

    Your faction standing with Blackfeather Raiders got worse.
    Your faction standing with Tuffein got better.
    Your faction standing with Tuffein Leadership got better.
    Your faction standing with Minohten got better.
    Your faction standing with Nymphs of the Windwillow got better.


  • 6. Return to Klassr 0/1 (Goru'kar Mesa)

    You say, 'Hail, Klassr'

    Klassr says 'You have returned, I see! It is good to know that I can [trust] you.'
    Your faction standing with Fieldstrider Centaur got better.
    Your faction standing with Minohten got better.
    Your faction standing with Nymphs of the Windwillow got better.

    I am trying to do this quest and for some reason, the quest keeps cancelling on me....I am not 100% sure why...it doesn't seem to have a time limit..but I've killed several of the beasts, logged off and then when I come back I have to go talk to Madu and start the quest all over.....any ideas?

    If you kill the Shade he takes a LONG time to respawn. Which isn't actually bad if you want to wander around the village without aggro.

    1) enter the pass to the village
    2) head more or less to the center of the village maybe a little to the left
    3) move towards the huts at the back of the village from the pass -- still a little bit out from the hut
    4) go behind the hut where the Shade spawns

    Went off for me as I approached Klassr approx. 245 x -553 [Note: Klassr's loc at this time was/is 242 x -556 x 22] just West of Stormwren.

    It Updated when i hit loc +77, -513
    killing the shade

    If you kill the shade so that you can walk around the camp easily for Part 3 be prepared for a wait. The shade does not pop in a reasonable amount of time.

    Also, the writeup was very accurate. Loved it.

    If you come over the hill into the camp you'll miss the trigger.... start at the road into it and progress in and they update pretty smoothly. Killing the shade first gives you credit for his death when you get to that point.
