Zheren #3: The Ashengate Orders

This is the third in a series of five tasks.
Captain Zheren may be found at -1225, +620. You say, 'Hail, Captain Zheren' Captain Zheren says '______! Aren't you a sight for sore eyes! We set up this camp a few weeks ago to scout the lands controlled by Dyn`leth. We expected [opposition], but nothing like this.' You say, 'What opposition?' Captain Zheren says 'Dyn`leth's armies control almost every piece of land between the mines to the east and the temple to the north. We are vastly outnumbered. Any strength you can lend to our [cause] would be much appreciated.' You say, 'What cause?' Captain Zheren says 'We are the Crusade of the Scale! We will not rest until Dyn`leth is dead and the Scale of Veeshan has been reclaimed!' If you have previously completed "Dyn`leth's Artillery".. You have been assigned the task 'The Ashengate Orders'. Dyn`Leth's messengers move back and forth from the mines to the cliffs north of here. They travel under heavy guard and carry valuable information on troop movements and force strength. Captain Zheran wants you to intercept a messenger patrol and steal the Ashengate Orders. Return them to him when you have completed your mission. Stop the Courier from Reaching the Mines 0/1 - Sunderock Springs Dyn`Leth`s Courier is accompanied by four courier guards. All five are immune to changes in run speed so don't bother trying to snare. They walk from the Direwind zoneline to a spot just outside the Vergalid Mines and are easy to ambush (ie, no adds) at a couple of spots along their route. Finish the guards lest they warn the enemy 0/4 - Sunderock Springs Return with the orders to Captain Zheren 0/1 - Sunderock Springs Deliver the Ashengate Orders to Captain Zheren 0/1 - Sunderock Springs Your task 'The Ashengate Orders' has been updated. Zheren salutes you as you return, 'Welcome back. I will need a moment to review this document. Your deed has been a great service to our [cause]!' This is a lead-in to the next quest in the series "Dyn`Leth's Mine". Your faction standing with Crusade of the Scale got better. Your faction standing with Forces of Dyn'leth got worse. It looks like other courier mobs drop the same book.

I can confirm (June 2020) that the group fought the courier and guards twice, off quest and on quest.
First, was during the previous 'catapult' quest, and they aggroed pathing by as we finished up a catapult up the ramp.
That dropped one book.
As has been commented by others, looting it is of no value as this quest requires you to loot it and can't "pre-loot" so to speak.
However...
Second fight, with this quest active we moved and waited on the ramp for the courier and guards to come by and got the ambush on them! (revenge!)
This time, the courier dropped books for all! Including the mercs if the they wanted a copy!
Hopefully, that is by design, and intent to have the courier killed one time and provide drops to the party on quest. Much better use of the game resources and allowing progress. Some other quests similar, kill a 'named' target and multiple drops to distribute. Others alas no.

Ok, I just did this task while boxing my 3 toons, all level 71, and each time, the courier dropped 1 of the scrolls each time, and the courier pops roughly 10minutes, so, will have to kill him for each of the toons involved with the task, and shouldn't be that hard to do!
If you already killed the courier when not having the quest, you can not just turn in the orders dropped from courier. You must have the quest first.
So leave him be if you dont have the quest.

These mobs have unusual aggro. Although gray, the guards will assist if you aggro any of them. However, sometimes a guard will fall behind and you can pull him single. All mobs are immune to root/snare, none of them summon. The guards hit 500ish, but no idea how hard the courier hits.
I go to deliver the orders to Captain Zheren and he doesn't want them...
Dyn`Leth`s Courier drops a scroll for each person in the group who has this task. So you should only have to kill him once for the whole group.
Just killed him maybe 8 minutes ago , 3 in group all with the task. 2 scrolls dropped.

Guards only have about 15k hitpoints and Courier about 20k
