This is the second in a series of five tasks.

Captain Zheren may be found at -1225, +620.

You say, 'Hail, Captain Zheren'

Captain Zheren says '______! Aren't you a sight for sore eyes! We set up this camp a few weeks ago to scout the lands controlled by Dyn`leth. We expected [opposition], but nothing like this.'

You say, 'What opposition?'

Captain Zheren says 'Dyn`leth's armies control almost every piece of land between the mines to the east and the temple to the north. We are vastly outnumbered. Any strength you can lend to our [cause] would be much appreciated.'

You say, 'What cause?'

Captain Zheren says 'We are the Crusade of the Scale! We will not rest until Dyn`leth is dead and the Scale of Veeshan has been reclaimed!'

If you have previously completed "Scouting Sunderock"..

You have been assigned the task 'Dyn`leth's Artillery'.

While you were away on your scouting expedition, Dyn`Leth's forces stationed around the mines have positioned their catapults to fire on the Brotherhood of the Scale. Kill the artillerists and smash their catapults so the enemy will not be able to fire upon this position.

Kill 14 Engineers - Sunderock Springs

Dyn`Leth's artillery forces can be found on both sides of the river, a little to the north of the Crusade of the Scale camp. The engineers are a mix of melee and casters.

Destroy 7 Catapults - Sunderock Springs /loc -400, 0. They are at the top of the ramp on the west side of the river just north of the Drakkin camp and Captain Zheren. There are more across the bridge above the river, to the east.

The catapults can be destroyed with one blow. Of course, nearby engineers will object...

Return to Captain Zheren - Sunderock Springs

You say, 'Hail, Captain Zheren'

Your task 'Dyn`Leth's Artillery' has been updated.

Excellent. With his catapults out of commission, our camp should be able to continue its preparations for waging war. This will truly help our [cause]!

This is a lead-in to the next quest in the series "The Ashengate Orders".

Here is a /loc for where to find the closest catapults and engineers to the friendly Drakkin camp:

-400, 0

More specific directions than are currently provided: They are at the top of the ramp on the west side of the river just north of the Drakkin camp and Captain Zheren. There are more across the bridge above the river, to the east.

Additional information:

While doing this quest, I was a 67 Warrior with a 66 Shaman box, along with my mercs -- a healer and a rogue. Both characters wore gear awarded by the Hero's Journey (which at this point was a mix of Flawed, Intricate, and Elaborate consigned Defiant gear) combined with auto-granted AA and a few hotzone augs, and with this the individual engineers were pushovers when it came to tanking, even without Slow--the Shaman could do it. I didn't get single pulls, and four at once wasn't quite as much of a pushover, but it was still very doable even without using disciplines. They weren't very tough, either, and of the spells my Shaman tried on them (magic, cold, poison, disease) they only showed some resistance to magic and disease.

As someone else mentioned, the catapults are unlikely to die from a single blow at this level, unless perhaps you are a wizard and land a crit--the 10k estimate someone else gave seems right, seeing as my Shaman's 1k nuke chopped off about 10%. Like a lot of destructible objects, they are somewhat resistant to physical damage, so having strong proc weapons, nukes/lifetaps, or someone with nukes/lifetaps in the group (or the ability to grant you a proc buff, such as Spirit of the Leopard) is very handy. The catapults also take significantly longer to respawn than the engineers, so moving from catapult to catapult to get this quest done is something I would suggest.

The catapults have 10k hps.
You dont get credit if you kill the catapults with dots.
The majority of the engineers do not summon, but approx 1 in 10 is fixed in place and wont move from its spawn spot, gives the message 'immune to run speed changes' and summons. They dont hit that hard so its easy enough to take the hit and move back out of range until the next summon.

I knew I'd posted somewhere that I remembered you but I couldn't remember where

People still don't understand how I don't know anything about druids or bards or paladins or rangers...

Didn't Summon

The engineers I killed didn't summon at all, and were very succeptible to root and snare. Also, harmony worked great to pull them as singles. I had no trouble kiting them as a druid.

The engineers summon. Immune to snare, max hit in the short time before i ran away screaming was about 840, some are affected by tranquility of the glades, not all though.

Thanks for the reminder. Updated all tasks in the series to fully link them to each other.

Yes, that's me. And I remember Toucan!

Researching quests on Zek is certainly fun. Such as having to kill two players in order to get to a quest NPC in Crescent Reach yesterday, or having Druid DoTs cast on me in Direwild the day before whilst trying to talk to Maven Bellstone. Last night I was attacked whilst talking to Scout Madu in Goru'kar. The two NPCs attacked the other player, who then killed them. So.. I had to wait for Scout Madu to respawn in order to get the task update.
