This task requires that you visit all three of the mines. You say, 'Hail, Wanderer Gimlek' Wanderer Gimlek says 'Who goes there?! Who sent you? Are you a [friend] or foe?' You say, 'A friend.' Wanderer Gimlek says 'Ah, another recruit of the Wanderlust Guild. Very good. It's been so dangerous out here I'm starting to lose my wits. I'm not very trusting anymore. It's a hard life I have chosen. Cold nights and blistering hot days . . . not to mention the strange noises and creatures beyond the city. Are you ready for more [adventure]?' You say, 'I am ready for more adventure.' Wanderer Gimlek says 'Excellent! We have much work to do. You must investigate the gnoll mine to the south, a strange portal of wizardry, the frightful area where the Curse of the Gods was laid down upon Norrath and some other [spots] too!' You say, 'What spots?' You have been assigned the task 'Wanderlust Guild: Far Afield'. -95, -820, 55 due east of the Plane of Knowledge book. This task requires that you visit all three of the mines. Notice that if you have other tasks that require a visit to the mines open at the same time, you may get a "Task Complete" that is for the other task and not this one. Pull up this task in the Quest Journal and check that it has in fact registered as completed after all three are visited. You may have to go back and revisit one or more of the sites.

It's actually not "due east" from the book to PoK...It's due east from Crossroads. There are ancient ruins that will give you credit for this.
You have all task stages I saw when I did this quest.
You were sent to Master Vanguard Regan to report... it makes sense to hail him for the next part?... at least it made sense to me.... Master Vanguard Regan is in the little merchant type hut to the right of the council chamber on the second floor....of Crescent Reach.
The wizardy location is the ruins on the hill as you go toward the outpost from the PoK book....
The bog in the hills past the wizardy place updated my task when I ran almost straight in thru the opening guarded by the bushey things...and started swimming.... updated before I got all the way across the water there at entry....
Druid Ring is just to the right of the road to Crescent Reach after you reach the outpost, on the top of the hill.... updated as I ran thru the middle of the ring....
Mucktail miner update happened as I ran past the mine closest to Crescent Reach (I started running the wall along the mucktail mines at the end closest to the outpost camp and ended with a very long train.... but no one else was in the zone at the time...)
Quest took about 15 minutes....
Locations on previous quests were close but I am coordinate challenged unless just verifying .... coordinates cause me to wander in circles .... smile...

After completing Far Afield, you augments stats will be:

easy as pie,,,,just follow the road straight east and you'll come to a small camp before you go thru the mountain pass,, hail the guy, and bam you are done
This guy doesnt say where to go when done with this one. How to start #4?
