This 24 person (max) raid task begins with Sergeant Kazzar in Sunderock Springs. You must have at least 6 people in your group in order to request this task, they all don't have to be in the zone and can even be offline.

Pre-requisites for requesting this task are tasks 1-4 of Captain Zheren's task arc. There are no pre-requisites for participating in the task.

Sergeant Kazzar stands next to the Captain.

You say, 'Hail, Sergeant Kazzar'

Sergeant Kazzar says 'Our Crusade struggles to hold a basecamp here on this mesa. The fight has not been easy. Our enemies still plot and wait within the [Vergalid mines] to the east.'

You say, 'Vergalid Mines?'

Sergeant Kazzar says 'You have fought long and hard against our enemies, ____. You are almost ready to lead a strike force against the Dragon Vergalid. First, you must take care of one of Vergalid's allies within the mines. Are you [willing] to do this?'

You say, 'I am willing'

If not in a raid with at least 18 members present in Sunderock Springs...

Sergeant Kazzar says 'Your forces do not seem up to par for a task of this magnitude, _____. Perhaps you should return after you regroup.'

If all pre-requisites are met, you are given a task selection dialog.

You have been assigned the task 'Vergalid Mines: Into the Leviathan's Lair'
The direction to the entry to your instanced zone(s) have been marked on your compass. It leads to a door in the rocks to the northeast behind Fiddleback at +1600, -1500.

Venture into the Vergalid Mines and locate Kellak the Serpent Lord. Rain death down on the serpent. Do not return until the deed is done.

Enter the Vergalid Mines 0/1 (Sunderock Springs)

The zone-in to the instance is at loc 1610, -1490, 390.

Slay Kellak the Serpent Lord 0/1 (Vergalid Mines)

Trash mobs in this zone mostly see invis, so you'll have to kill your way to Kellak's lair.

Once engaged, Kellak the Serpent Lord seems to be rooted in place. He sits in the water but you have to damage him above the water so levitate will be needed. He spawns three adds called "Kellak`s offspring" which proc "Serpent's Venom":

Serpent's Venom: Single Target, Cold (-150)
1: Decrease HP when cast by 500
2: Decrease Hitpoints by 500 per tick
3: Increase Poison Counter by 9
4: Increase Poison Counter by 9
5: Increase Poison Counter by 9

These adds are rootable. Best option is to offtank or root adds away from the raid while everyone burns down Kellak. Kellak himself hits for a max ~8,000 and casts "Electrify" and "Serpent's Venom":

Electrify: Unknown(32) 300', Magic (-400)
1: Decrease Hitpoints by 6000

Serpent's Venom: Single Target, Cold (-150)
1: Decrease HP when cast by 500
2: Decrease Hitpoints by 500 per tick
3: Increase Poison Counter by 9
4: Increase Poison Counter by 9
5: Increase Poison Counter by 9

Kellak the Serpent Lord has been slain by _____!
Your task 'Vergalid Mines: Into the Leviathan's Lair' has been updated.
You have completed your task: 'Vergalid Mines: Slaying the Serpent'

Kellak drops one of three items:

Clouded Ring of Restoration
Electrified Bauble of Rigor
Kellak's Electrified Ring of Voracity



Completion of this task (along with its pre-requisites) allows you to request the Vergalid's End raid.

Into the Leviathan's Lair requires 6 raiders minimum. If you have exactly 6, it can be in group format and they do not have to be online.

Multiple characters do not have to be present in Sunderock to request the task, only the raid requester.

The door to the instance zone line in Sunderock is marked on your compass. It leads to a door in the rocks to the northeast behind Fiddleback at 1600, -1500.

Kellak the Serpent Lord seems to be rooted in place. Despite him sitting half in the water, you have to kill him from above the waterline.

The task replay timer is 1 day, 12 hours.

This task does not require 18 people. You need at least 12 as the person below this said. My guild attempted and won this task tonight and we had less than 18.

edit: Seems long now, like around an hour!

im still trying to determine myself.. i'm wondering if the mobs in the boss room are on a faster timer.

im wondering if they changed the timer.. havent seen a repop in 30+ mins!

and on another note.. most of the mobs Do Not see invis.. but i did find one caiman that saw invis so it must be random when there is a see invis

Mobs in the boss room seem to be on a 20 minute timer, i.e., we start getting respawns if we get too lazy doing loot and rezz/rebuffs, but not otherwise. It seems the rest of the trash is on at least a 45 minute timer. When we first did this, we were getting respawns, but we were taking a long time feeling our way here. Now we are in and out in 30 min, so we don't get any.

You want single pulls unless you have a pair of strong tanks or good CC. The trash cons light blue but hits like Ashengate trash.

You have to have at least 12 people in your raid and in Sunderrock Springs... no matter how many you have in your raid (up to 24, of course) you can't be given the raid unless there are 12 or more of you in the zone.

Only the person requesting the raid needs to be flagged from Zheren's solo tasks.

We tried this with an anguish guild and it was pretty rough, lb cons flurry for 12k. Mobs are mezzable and below yellow stunable, we wiped on the named thats permarooted. Make sure your puller get all the areas clear around him we got an add that came from behind a pillar, named was hitting our warr for 3.5 kish and he has a ton of hps. Chanter charmed the mob like on a tipt run and it was hitting for 4-500ish. One word for this mission..... Brutal! But it's fun hehe.

This raid appears as a shared task, called "Vergalid Mines: Into the Leviathan's Lair", here's the task steps:

* Enter the Vergalid Mines
* Slay Kellak the Serpent Lord

The zone in of instancede Vergalid Mines is NOT the same as normal vergalid mines, and you don't get a marker on the compass. Zone in is north of normal Vergalid Mines zone line, behind where the named spider Fiddleback spawns. Loc is 1600, -1500.

We were able to get the task with 22 people in raid, contrary to what's said in earlier posts. Perhaps it has been changed since release of TSS.

just fyi..just finished and hes fairly straightforward nowadays..just watch for three adds that pop at 40percent...they despawn on death..other than that...kill to mob, kill mob...get loot

Silly restriction, but make sure your raid is actually in Sunderrock.

If some number of players in raid are not in the zone, you won't be given the instance.

How hard does the named hit? for 345hp gear guessing a 6K hitter.

Done it x4 in tunare seems only those drops.
