Stage 1: The Agent

Find Kalatrina Plossen downstairs in the Hall of Truth at 771.98, -162.19, -166.01.

You say, 'Hail, Kalatrina Plossen'

Kalatrina Plossen says 'Hail! Welcome to the Hall of Truth. We, the Knights of Truth, are all the hope this city has of loosening the grip of Lucan D'lere and his militia. I seek a young knight to [serve the will of the Truthbringer].'

You say, 'I serve the will of the Truthbringer.'

Kalatrina Plossen says 'Stand tall then, knight! We have need of your services. We have sent a man to infiltrate the militia. We fear he may soon be found out. Take him this note of warning. Say the words, 'Truth is good,' and you shall find him. Be careful, young knight. The militia does not take prisoners.'

You receive A Sealed Letter, which identifies as "To Alayle." The text is,

Please return home at once. Mother is not well ! Your Father, Mithmar.

None of the Militia guards in East or West Freeport respond to the phrase "Truth is good" save one. Head to the Militia guardhouse in East Freeport. Guard Alayle may be found in the basement at -1040, +850.

You say, 'Hail, Guard Alayle'

Guard Alayle says 'Greetings, citizen! You should not be in the Militia House. These are restricted grounds. Please leave at once unless you have business here.'

You say, 'Truth is good.'

Guard Alayle says 'Ssshhh!! Pipe down. The others might hear you. You must have something for me. Kalatrina must have given you something if you serve the Hall of Truth. If you have nothing, please leave. You will blow my cover.'

Give Guard Alayle the sealed letter.

Guard Alayle says 'This is not good news. I must leave immediately. Here. Take this to Kala.. I mean my father. I found it on the floor of Sir Lucan D'Lere's quarters. Thanks again, messenger. I got this just in time.'

You receive A Tattered Flier, the text of which is:

ZIMEL'S BLADES
..... ... .... .. ...
....... ...... ... .. ... ....... .... ...

At this point, Krazen Loosh spawns inside the guardhouse and, after a brief delay, approaches Guard Alayle.

You say, 'Hail, Krazen Loosh'

Krazen Loosh says 'The towering wall of stone is clearly unmovable at this point, being held in place by collection of magical energies.'

Krazen Loosh says 'Hello, Alayle. We just got a message from Qeynos. I think you should come with me.'

Guard Alayle says 'Oh no!! It is too late!! Run!!'

Krazen Loosh says 'As you try to open penetrate the stone wall it is clearly being held in place by a powerful force.'

Krazen and other nearby guards attack and most likely kill Alayle.

Guard Alayle says 'My comrades will avenge my death.'

What you are supposed to do at this point is return to Kalatrina and hand her the tattered flier. Unfortunately, there is a bug in the quest. You need the tattered flier for a later stage of the quest, but Kalatrina doesn't return it. You either need to obtain another flier (by re-running the quest when Alayle respawns) or just don't hand the flier to Kalatrina. If you do hand her the flier, she says this:

Kalatrina Plossen says 'Zimel's Blades?! Hmmmmm. It doesn't ring a bell and the remainder of the writing is too hard to make out. It kind of looks like a list of prices. You know, down at the Office of the People they might be able to tell us if this place exists. Go speak with Rashinda. She knows all about Freeport. If [Zimel's Blades] existed, you must report back to me what happened to it.'

Head to the Office of the People, not far from the Hall of Truth, and find Rashinda Elore upstairs.

You say, 'Hail, Rashinda Elore'

Rashinda Elore says 'Hello. I am Rashinda Elore. The city Landholder Manager. If you have business to discuss, please direct it to my two clerks in the other room. Good day.'

You say, 'Blades'

Rashinda Elore says 'Zimel's Blades? It used to be a fine place of rare weaponry. [Ariska Zimel] was the owner. No one knows what happened to the man. He just vanished overnight. His shop used to be in East Freeport which is now a slum, er, I mean, which now has plenty of available lots for sale with plenty of potential. As for Zimel's Blades, we [condemned] it.'

You say, 'Who is Ariska Zimel?'

Rashinda Elore says 'Ariska Zimel was a human blacksmith, a master when it came to making swords, I hear. He kept to himself a lot. He disappeared about one year ago. A lot of people were disappointed when we had to condemn Zimel's Blades. All the merchandise was handed over to [Groflah Steadirt]. Mostly charred junk.'

You say, 'Who is Groflah Steadirt?'

Rashinda Elore says 'Groflah Steadirt is the dwarven owner of Groflah's Forge which is right near here. He was Ariska Zimel's best friend. They were apparently avid travelers before settling down here in Freeport. I guess it was during their travels that they picked up the fine arts of the forge. You should talk to Groflah about Zimel. He can tell you more than I can.'

You say, 'Why was it condemned?'

Rashinda Elore says 'About a week after Ariska Zimel's disappearance, strange noises were heard from his shop. Loud booms and rumbling as though the earth itself were exploding. When the militia got to the shop, they said the shop was badly burned by an exploding boiler. They had us condemn the building due to its unsafe structure.'

Return to Kalatrina again.

You say, 'Zimel's Blades was condemned.'

Kalatrina Plossen says 'Why would Lucan visit a condemned building? He must be searching for something. When I last visited the local forge, I heard rumors of Lucan searching for a sword named Soulfire. If this is true, you must find it first! No more power should go his way. Seek this sword out!'

Stage 2: Groflah and the Bar

Your only clue at this point is Rashinda mentioning that you should talk to Groflah. Since Groflah got all of Zimel's old inventory and you have what appears to be a price list from Zimel (the tattered flier), maybe a visit to Groflah is in order. Find Groflah Steadirt upstairs in his forge in West Freeport at 420.45, -1635.50, -92.44.

You say, 'Hail, Groflah Steadirt'

Groflah Steadirt says 'Greetings, adventurer! Certainly a person who looks as hardened as yourself deserves a fine blade to match your prowess. Here at Groflah's Forge, we supply you with only the finest quality weapons.'

You say, 'Do you know Ariska Zimel?'

Groflah Steadirt says 'Zimel!! I do not know who you mean. Now go away. I am very busy. I will not talk here!!'

Give him the tattered flier.

Groflah Steadirt says 'Where did you find this? This was the main price list of Zimel's Blades, but it should be all burnt up. I was at Zimel's right after the fire and I did not see it hanging where it should have been. The entire inside was gutted and . . . wait . . . the sequence of the dots!! Hmmm. I cannot talk with you here. Meet me at the Seafarer's by the docks at night. Give me the note when next we meet.'

Not surprisingly, Groflah is a bit antsy about discussing this issue. Head to East Freeport and find the Seafarer's Roost by the docks. Groflah will (rarely) spawn during the night time at the far table; his placeholders are Talym Shoontar, Sir Edwin Motte and Imxil Tbrow. While you wait, buy four Drom's Champagnes for a later step of the quest.

Killing his placeholders causes huge faction hits, and may not make him spawn faster.

When Groflah pops, hail him. His hail text and bracketed keywords lead to an unrelated quest; you can ignore them. I just list them here for the sake of completeness.

You say, 'Hail, Groflah Steadirt'

Groflah Steadirt says 'Greetings, ______! Join in the [celebration]! Have a few drinks. Alas, there are no [Tumpy Tonics].'

Give him the tattered flier.

Groflah Steadirt says 'This used to be hanging in Zimel's Blades. It is the price list. It is badly faded though. There was a fire in Zimel's Blades and I was on the scene just afterward. I did not see this hanging. I wonder who took it . . . Hmmmm.. oh, yes.. the markings on the list! It is a code! Here. I will fill it in. Read it. You probably do not even know who Ariska is.'

You receive a different Tattered Flier from Groflah here. Although this second flier has the same name and icon, it contains very different text. It reads:

ZIMEL'S BLADES
..h... e... l .. p.. ...
..c..... ..a.... ... p.. t... ..i....v. .... ...

You say, 'Who is Ariska?'

Groflah Steadirt says 'Ariska Zimel was my best friend. He and I learned our knowledge of metal from such places as Halas and Kaladim. When he disappeared, it seemed to involve foul play. He must be alive somewhere in the city. I pray this is not the work of [Pietro Zarn].'

You say, 'Who is Pietro Zarn?'

Groflah Steadirt says 'While we were traveling through the Lavastorm Mountains, we happened upon a caravan. They wore emblems in honor of the evil god, Innoruuk. They did not see us, but we saw them. And most importantly of all, Ariska saw the apparent leader's sword. It was glowing with great energy. Suddenly, the evil knights were in a battle. The knights gave chase, leaving their camp unattended. The knight who owned the sword left it behind, opting to fight with another, leading me to believe it was not his to begin with. It was at this point that Ariska ran down and grabbed the sword. A few weeks later, we were to learn that the knight was a powerful man by the name of Pietro Zarn and that he was looking for a sword stolen from him. He called it .. Soulfire. I believe Zarn must have finally found Ariska.'

Finding the next person to talk to requires pure luck. One of two things is supposed to happen.

First, if Branis Noolright (one of the bards) and Tykar Renlin (the beggar at the bar) both spawn at the same time, and the bard sings his pro-Lucan song, the beggar will go off on a rant, mentioning Zimel. This would lead you to question him, which sets you off on the rest of the quest.

Henna Treghost says 'Sing us a melody.'

Branis Noolright says 'Here's one for Sir Lucan... He's just a ruler. In a long line of rulers. Looking for a few more orcs to slay. They say that he fights them with one hand tied to his back. And he won't leave Freeport till you remember his name. Thank you.'

Tykar Renlin says 'That man is no just ruler. He has jailed me and my friend Zimel for merely begging.'

Second, Tykar will give his response to the key word "Zimel" if any player mentions it in /say in Tykar's hearing without having another NPC targeted. This leads me to think that you get your next clue if Tykar is up while you're chatting with Groflah. It is possible that if an NPC mentions "Zimel" within earshot of Tykar, Tykar will respond as well.

Stage 3: Tykar and Zimel

Tykar's placeholders are Plnorrick Spinecracker, Biggle Lombokker, Lozani and Tlin Bowfright. Again, killing them incurs some nasty faction hits; it's advised you just wait. Tykar usually appears very late during the game night. When he does, ask him about Zimel. 2016 update: Tykar Renlin (the beggar at the bar) - Just wanted to update this little bit - its not pure luck. I had Tykar spawn in front of Henna Treghost at 12 AM (Midnight game time) and followed his path. At which 2 AM he roams back to his spawn loc and de pops.

You say, 'Hail, Tykar Renlin'

Tykar Renlin says 'Do you have any spare coppers for a thirsty soul?'

You say, 'What can you tell me of Zimel?'

Tykar Renlin says 'What?! You know my friend Zimel?! I would like to speak of him, but my mouth is so parched. Maybe a fine grog would loosen my lips. I am uncertain which flavor shall do the trick.'

Give him the four Drom's Champagnes you purchased earlier, unstacked.

Tykar Renlin says 'Oooh!! That is the taste. My lips are almost loose. Maybe another will do the trick.'

Tykar Renlin says 'Oooh!! That is the taste. My lips are almost loose. Maybe another will do the trick.'

Tykar Renlin says 'Oooh!! That is the taste. My lips are almost loose. Maybe another will do the trick.'

Tykar Renlin says 'Ahh!! That was good. Now where were we?. Oh yes. My friend Zimel is a fellow beggar. He was locked up in the arena. They were going to let him go when the Freeport Militia came for him. Ha!! He is crazy as a troll now. I took this blanket from his cell before I was released. I no longer need it and my guilt has reached its peak. I do not want crazy old Zimel to freeze. Perhaps you can return it to him.'

You receive a blanket called Bunker Cell #1, which identifies as "Zimel's Blanket."

To move things along and prevent you from having to repeat steps, go outside the West Freeport gate and collect a Fire Beetle Eye, a Rat Ear, and Snake Scales. Also, buy a Water Flask and Bottle from one of the vendors that sells them. Combine the Fire Beetle Eye and Rat Ear in an oven or spit to make Edible Goo, and combine the Snake Scales, Water Flask, and Bottle in a brew barrel to make Bog Juice. Both trivial at 21.

Once you have both, return to East Freeport and find the Arena. The Freeport prison is underneath there, guarded by members of the Steel Warriors (Freeport warriors' guild). There is only one prisoner in the jail, named (simply enough) "a prisoner". He will occasionally let out an emote with some nonsense blabbering. Hailing him likewise gets gibberish. Mentioning Zimel, though, gets a much more interesting response.

a prisoner says 'unngh!!.. Biggle and boo.. Goggle froo..'

You say, 'Hail, a prisoner'

a prisoner says 'Aaaarghhh!!.. Buggl n gump.. Figgle and fump..'

You say, 'Are you Ariska Zimel?'

a prisoner stares deeply into your eyes.. Very eerie!!

Give him the blanket, the edible goo, and the bog juice.

a prisoner says 'Bog n Goo.. Blanket too!!'

a prisoner says 'Bog n Goo.. Blanket too!!'

a prisoner hands you something and says, 'Hide, hide, safe, cee.. lerk has the clue.. Must travel.. Travel.. Travel.. Tunaria's corridor..'

You receive a key called H. K. 102, which identifies as "Highkeep Strongbox 102."

Figuring out the next step takes a number of deductions. Tunaria is the old name for the continent of Antonica, and Tunaria's Corridor is the old name for the pass linking the Karanas to the Commonlands (via Kithicor Woods). Nowadays, it is called Highhold Pass. Your next clue is the key itself. The name of the key suggest an abbreviation, and if you cast Identify on it, you'll get the giveaway: it's a key from Highkeep . "Cee... lerk" actually means "clerk". Put it all together, and Zimel is telling you to take the key to the bank clerk in Highpass Keep.

Stage 4: Highpass Keep

Due to a change in game mechanics, you can no longer hand items directly to bankers. Instead, if you hail the banker, she will tell you to hand the key to her assistant. Do so.

You say, 'Hail, Bank Clerk Jaylin'

Bank Clerk Jaylin says 'Greetings! I am Jaylin Monel, your Highkeep bank clerk. If you are here to close an account, please return your strongbox key to my assistant Kiolna and she will return any items you may have stored.'

You say, 'Hail, Assistant Kiolna'

Assistant Kiolna says 'Hello! I am Jaylin's new assistant, Kiolna. If you wish to hand in your keys, please give them to me and I will be happy to assist you! It is a pleasure doing business with you.'

Give her the key.

Assistant Kiolna says 'I am sorry to see you check out. Here is all you had in your box. We hope to serve you again. Have a nice day! Next!'
You gain experience!!
You receive 8 silver from Assistant Kiolna.
You receive 3 gold from Assistant Kiolna.

You receive a Sealed Note, which identifies as "Zimel's Letter From Hayle." The note reads as follows:

Ariska,

For your great service to the Temple of Life I shall honor your request and hold Soulfire until I see this note presented to me by either you or a noble courier of the Hall of Truth.

Brother Hayle

Stage 5: Brother Hayle

Time to find Brother Hayle. Head to the Temple of Life in North Qeynos, and ask around about Brother Hayle. Priestess Jahnda will respond.

You say, 'Hail, Priestess Jahnda'

Priestess Jahnda says 'Welcome to the Temple of Life, where the will of Rodcet Nife, the Prime Healer, is carried out. I am the High Priestess Jahnda. If you require any training in our ways, please talk to any of our priests or any of the paladins of the Temple of Life.'

You say, 'Where is Brother Hayle?'

Priestess Jahnda says 'Brother Hayle Mool is one of our finest clerics. He could convert anyone to the ways of Rodcet Nife. Recently, he has been out in the [Plains of Karana] trying to befriend the [Splitpaw clan]. I pray he has not become their prisoner or even worse, their dinner.'

This section of text is in fact part of another quest that relates to Brother Hayle; it explains in a little more detail why Hayle is in Splitpaw Lair. It's not directly relevant to SoulFire, but it does have some interesting info about Hayle. The Blessed Oil Quest has more information.

Head to Southern Karana where you will find Brother Hayle surrounded by gnolls at approximate location -1514, +2246.

You say, 'Hail, Brother Hayle'

Brother Hayle says 'This is no place for you. These Splitpaws are very fierce. Only the power of Rodcet Nife will guide them to the light. By the way, I might warn you that the cells here lock behind you.'

Give him the sealed note.

Brother Hayle says 'Finally!! I see that Ariska has found a noble knight to retrieve Soulfire. Per Ariska's orders I am not to give Soulfire to you until you can show me [proof of nobility]. You must honor both the Temple of Life as well as the Hall of Truth and to a high degree. Only then shall you hold Soulfire.'

Your faction standing with Bloodsabers has been adjusted by -2.

You gain experience!!

Brother Hayle is on Temple of Life faction. What he's warning you about here is that your faction with both the Temple of Life in Qeynos and the Hall of Truth in Freeport must be towards the upper end of "warmly." If they are not, Hayle will eat your turn-in. Killing Lucan (discussed below) will likely get your faction high enough with the Hall of Truth; if not, a second kill will most certainly do it, but be aware that this will make you KOS with the Freeport Rogues, called the Coalition of Tradesfolk Underground (not to mention KOS to the Freeport Militia). Raising your faction with the Temple of Life is somewhat more onerous, and the details of how to raise it are beyond the scope of this guide. Note that the only way to make sure your faction is high enough is to either risk the turn-in at "warmly" and hope, or just raise your faction to "ally" -- that's guaranteed to be enough.

You receive back "a note" -- notice that the name and icon both changed. The lore text is "Returned Letter From Hayle", though the note's text is still the same:

Ariska,

For your great service to the Temple of Life I shall honor your request and hold Soulfire until I see this note presented to me by either you or a noble courier of the Hall of Truth.

Brother Hayle

You say, 'What proof of nobility?'

Brother Hayle says 'I require the returned note I gave you, a Testimony of Truth, a Sword of Faith and finally the hilt of Soulfire. The Testimony and Sword of Faith are earned in the Hall of Truth, but for the hilt of Soulfire you shall have to battle [Xicotl].'

You say, 'Who is Xicotl?'

Brother Hayle says 'Xicotl is the evil troll who attempted to steal Soulfire from the vaults of the Temple of Life. The hilt of Soulfire broke off during the battle and now rests in the hands of this troll shadowknight. From what I have heard, he is frequently an invited guest at the castle called Mistmoore. Woe to any paladin who dares set foot upon the land of Mistmoore, but should you attempt it you might search the guest rooms for the troll. May Rodcet Nife walk with you.'

Stage 6: Collecting the Items

Now you have to go out and collect the three items Hayle wants. You already have the returned Note, so you don't need to worry about that. Don't lose or destroy the note, though!

Brilliant Sword of Faith

Find Valeron Dushire upstairs in the Hall of Truth in West Freeport at 1130, -500.

Valeron Dushire says 'I am Sir Valeron Dushire, leader of the order of the Knights of Truth. If your soul shines with purity and strength, I urge you to join our order. The might of Mithaniel Marr stands behind all who join. Soon that might will help us free this city from the tyranny of the [Freeport Militia].'

You say, 'What Freeport Militia?'

Valeron Dushire says 'The Freeport Militia took control of this city long ago. They are nothing more than a group of thugs not worthy of respect. They follow the words of [Sir Lucan] D'Lere. He has been a thorn in this city's side for too long. If you wish to aid us in the fight against tyranny, go speak with Jemoz or Sir Theron. May the Truthbringer shine upon your soul.'

You say, 'Who is Sir Lucan?'

Valeron Dushire says 'Lucan is a bad seed. You see, I trained Sir Lucan. He was nothing more than a street rat who was taken in by the Temple of Marr. The priests taught him and found him to be very agile and strong. They requested either the Priests of Marr or the Knights of Truth take him on as a squire. Gygus could not spare the trainers at the time and so we took the boy. The boy became a man, and a very formidable knight. Then something [went awry].'

You say, 'What went awry?'

Valeron Dushire says 'During one of our crusades into the lands of Norrath, we left Sir Lucan in charge of the remaining knights. He did much good and the people respected him. He was overtaken by power. He soon began to hire mercenaries to guard the city, calling them the Freeport Militia. His true downfall began when he killed Sentry Dillius, a paladin of the Priests of Marr. His divine powers were stripped from his soul. He was a paladin no longer. He and his militia now control the city. They treat it as their playground and bully the populace. Someone must [stop Sir Lucan].'

You say, 'I will stop Sir Lucan' (He will not respond to this nicely unless you are amiable)

Valeron Dushire says 'That would be good, but I doubt you can. We have been trying for years and are unable to get him apart from the militia. If you do the impossible and destroy Sir Lucan, bring me his testimony. Every knight of the Hall of Truth carries a signed testimony. Sir Lucan still holds his.'

Go kill Lucan in East Freeport at -1055, 717; you'll probably want a few friends to help you. Again, the mechanics of how to pull and kill Lucan, whether solo or with a group, are beyond the scope of this guide. When you kill his live form, a skeleton form pops right over his corpse. Kill him again.

Sir Lucan D`Lere says 'Die, dog!!'

TESTIMONY TRUTH

I believe in the might of Mithaniel Marr. I shall uphold the words of Marr and defend them with my life. I shall protect the righteous weak and avenge the souls of those whose life has been taken for naught. From this day forth I shall become a living vessel for the ideals of the Truthbringer and if I should ever falter from his grace may he cast me from this life and into the lifeless void.

PRAISE BE TO MARR

Sir Lucan D'Lere

Take the Testimony of Truth you looted off Lucan's skeletal form to Valeron Dushire and hand it to him.

Valeron Dushire says 'Praise be to Marr!! You have done the impossible!! Sir Lucan is finally sent to the higher courts of the Tribunal. The city now has a chance to prosper. Testimony

Find Merko Quetalis in the Hall of Truth. He's standing in the "back yard" area, near the aqueduct that runs through the grounds.

You say 'Hail, Merko Quetalis'

Merko Quetalis says 'Hail, good citizen! You have entered the Hall of Truth. What is it you seek? Many citizens come to request aid in dealing with the local rogues or the oppression of our sworn enemies, the Freeport Militia. A few valiant ones have been [summoned to the Hall of Truth].'

You say, 'I have been summoned to the Hall of Truth.'

Merko Quetalis says 'You have been summoned? You do not have the look of nobility. You must be a [squire]. There are many squires who have been summoned to our Hall. Not all pass the [Test of Truth].'

You say 'I am a squire.'

Merko Quetalis says 'Then I welcome you, Squire . Being a squire is the first step to becoming a true knight of the Hall of Truth. Remember always to protect and serve the meek. I have a [small task] which suits a squire perfectly.'

You say 'What small task?'

Merko Quetalis says 'Venture to the Commonlands and seek out our noble friend Altunic Jartin. He lives and works out of his home. Hand him this note.'

You receive A Note, which identifies as "Note To Altunic." It says:

Altunic,

I have sent this squire to look into your problem for you. Hope to see you at services at the Temple of Marr.

Sir Merko Quetalis
Hall of Truth

Head to the Commonlands and find Altunic Jartin. He wanders around the western part of the zone, from his house (the small, empty shack that stands alone at the far west of the zone) past the orc camps and back.

You say 'Hail, Altunic Jartin.'

Altunic Jartin says 'Greetings, traveler! Have you need of provisions or perhaps other wares? I sell what I find upon the battlegrounds of the Commonlands.'

Give him the note.

Altunic Jartin says 'You are the one they have sent? A squire?!! I hope you can help me. I gather items strewn upon the grounds of the Commonlands. I sell them at good prices. Lately, I have been terrorized by a human rogue named Narl. He will no doubt appear at my [house] soon. Bring his head to me.'

You say, 'Where is your house?'

Altunic Jartin says 'Follow me.'

Altunic leads you to his house. About 30 seconds after your conversation, Squire Narl appears by Altunic's door. I don't think he despawns until someone kills him. Attack him.

Squire Narl says 'Death to all who oppose Innoruuk's will!!'

Cloth shirts will drop occasionally off the various monsters in the Commonlands, or you can buy it from the inn between the two orc camps for about 6gp. Note that you cannot use a Small Cloth Shirt or a Large Cloth Shirt. It must be called "Cloth Shirt" and nothing else. Obtain the shirt and hand it to Altunic.

Altunic hands you the Token of Generosity. Return to the Hall of Truth in West Freeport and find Merko again.

You say 'I have earned the Token of Generosity.'

Merko Quetalis says 'Go to the deserts of North Ro. Seek out the desert tarantulas. Stand and face this dreaded creature. If you are lucky, you will find a venom sac. This is what I require. When you return, hand it to me.'

The item you want is A Spider Venom Sac, which drops from Dune Tarantulas in North Ro or Giant Spiders in the Commonlands. You may also have luck checking the local vendors in those areas. Give the sac to Merko once you have at least Amiable faction (128) with Knights of Truth before the hand in.

Merko hands you the Token of Bravery.

You say 'What Test of Truth?'

Merko Quetalis says 'Only when a squire is ready, may he tempt his fate. All he need do is hand the tokens of bravery and generosity to me. If the squire survives his ordeal, then he or she shall enter the order of the Knights of Truth. The squire will be given the Testimony of Truth and become a respected knight.'

When you're ready for the next battle, hand him both the Token of Bravery and the Token of Generosity together.

Merko Quetalis says, 'Go and search this structure. Inside you shall find your opponent. Victory shall bring you your final token. Return it to me. Remember our ways and remember our foes. Send them to their judgment in the afterlife. Be swift with your thoughts. May Marr be with you.'

Guard Willia was Moved it was spawns in the water near you, just inside the tunnel. But now this mob spawns at +849, -213, -214 down in the jail cells of the Halls of Truth. As you come down the stairs to the jail cells, turn right and then left. The cell on the left is where Guard Willia. She is on Freeport Militia faction, so if you're not KOS to the Militia yet, you can chat with her.

*Guard Willia says, 'Please do not harm me! I am a lady underneath this garb. I just wanted to join the [Freeport Militia] to help my people... Please... Please... I am nobody. Marr have mercy. I give you the truth. Is that not what you stand for? Merko is my Uncle!'

You say, 'Hail, Guard Willia'

Guard Willia says 'Please, let me go. I shall leave the [Freeport Militia]. I did not know they were such a vile group.'

You say, 'What about the Freeport Militia?'

Guard Willia says 'I thought they were nothing more than the local militia. Little did I know they were so vile. Now I am stuck [here] and I ask for your forgiveness.'

You say, 'Why are you here?'

Guard Willia says 'I came here to escape the militia and ask [Merko to forgive] me.'

You say, 'Why ask Merko to forgive you?'

Guard Willia says 'I had a small encounter with his wife, my aunt. She was quite red after that altercation. I guess I upset her in a great way, somehow. Could you please go ask Merko to forgive [Willia]. I shall wait here for his answer.'

If you don't attack Willia for a while, she will say:

Guard Willia says 'Please do not harm me!! I am a lady underneath this garb. I just wanted to join the [Freeport Militia] to help my people.. Please.. Please.. I am nobody. Marr have mercy. I give you the truth. Is that not what you stand for? Merko is my Uncle!!'

Return to Merko and question him, but be swift -- Willia runs off after about one minute.

You say, 'Who is Willia?'

Merko Quetalis says 'She is my niece. Lucan ordered her to kill my wife.. She did. She now belongs to the Freeport Militia. As part of the militia, she must die!! Let no militia member stand in the way of nobility.'

Your timer before Willia runs off is still ticking, so you have to decide fast. If you don't kill Willia, you fail the Test of Truth and you either have to do it again from the start, or you have to give up on SoulFire.

Assuming you let Willia run away, she says this:

Guard Willia says 'Thank you, my friend. I shall mend my ways.. maybe.'

If you do decide to kill her, make sure to root her, as she'll attempt to run to the nearest zone line. If you fail to kill her, you fail the Test of Truth.

The man is making me NUTS!! We tried to camp him a few nights ago but RL took over & we had to call it off. Last night, I had 7 people helping me - my guildies are the best!! We were there for 4 plus hours & he never had the guts to show up!! I was so mad that my friends wasted a night of exp for this loser!! The only good thing to come out of it was that I got some good exp. And Lasna dropped her rare drop -- a ring don't remember the name.

Anyone on the A.Ro server having problems with X spawning? I know there are at least 4 or 5 other paladins working on this right now.

That's so funny. Xicotl showed up 10 minutes after we got there. Everyone told me I would have to camp him for hours on end. Someone else said he only spawns at night, so I dunno. This on the Ayonae Ro server when I did this part of the quest about 3 months ago.

Just an update. I finally got around to going back afte Xicotl. It was me (now lvl 42), a 51 ranger & 50 cleric. We waited for a bit & got some agro in the bedroom. Well I saw messages running that Lasna's wounds were disappearing or something to that effect. So I was anxious because I was thinking that if she was up Xicotl couldn't be. BOY WAS I WRONG!! He showed up with some friends while Lasna was duking it out with me & the ranger. We did what is normally a no-no & switched our target to Xicotl because our cleric was out of mana & if I was going to die & I was going to go down fighting for that hilt! I used lay hands to save me & we managed to kill him. He can hit pretty hard too! I looted him before I engaged an attack on Lasna because I wanted that hilt!! No one died & the ranger & I were both down to only a bubble or so of health. All in all, I had a great time!!

Here's my tale. I waited until I was level 56 to do this simply because I had a better sword since level 45. My conscience as a knight got the better of me, so off I go to start my epic...

First stop; Mistmore.
I self-buffed (including resists) and ran straight into the graveyard. I managed to pull the entire zone full of greenies onto me. After about 3 minutes of melee, there were 20 corpses at my feet and I was down to 80% health.

I took the secret route behind the graveyard, and fought my way to the bathroom. After two hours, Xycotl spawned. One very annoying thing about this fight was that Warrior-class mobs now "protect" their friends by absorbing blows taken by another. Because of screwed up zone dynamics, Xycotl had countless mobs "protecting" him, with countless others healing them all. It took an eternity to kill him, from what should have been an easy fight. I figure I hit him for over 10K damage while at least 20 mobs were nuking me and protecting/healing him through walls and floors.

Second stop; Qeynos.
I brought my pally to Qeynos via the PoP portals. Here I discovered that I was a bad boy earlier in my career, and that killing an NPC in Echo Caverns destroyed my Qeynos faction.

Being dubious to the NPC's sucked as they ate most of the quest-faction items I gave them. The only thing I could do (which wasn't so bad in the end) was hand in 2gp at a time to one of the NPC's (I forget the name atm). You can hand in any coin valued at 2gp and above. I verified this by handing in 150cp + 5sp, 200cp, 20sp, and 1pp. It took me 100gp (50 turn-ins) to get from dubious to apprehensive.

Being apprehensive was not enough for the priests so I gave in 200more gp (100 turn-ins) to get past indifferent and into amiable. After beign amiable, I gave some newb 25pp for each lootable Koalandil (sp?) fish. Three fish got me from amiable to kindly. Three more fish raised me to warmly. Warmly was good enough to get the Soulfire.

Third stop; EC.
I got a port to WC, and ran into EC. I bought a shirt in the shop, then found Altunic wandering about. I gave him the shirt and got my token of generosity. Again, I didn't hail him or anything, just gave him the shirt.

Fourth stop; SRo
I ran into Nro, zoned into Oasis, killed a few specs for revenge, then zoned into SRo to slaughter spiders. The 25th spider (I counted), dropped the damn poison sack. I killed two sand giants and Terrorantula before I saw a spider that dropped the stupid poison sack.

Fourth Stop; Freeport.
My faction in Freeport wasn't so good, especially with the merchants. It seems that I was a bad boy earlier in my career (PoG raid - OUCH!), so when I waited in the bar for Tykar, a green (what else would a Tunare treehugger be) NPC agroed me and I had to kick her ***. Goodbye Freeport merchant faction.

So, I logged my baby druid and had her kill snakes, rats, and beetles for an hour to get the necessary components for bog juice and edible goo. Baked the goo in WFreeport, then headed to the bar in EFreeport to brew while I waited for Tykar to spawn. He spawned after 8 placeholders (ouch). I just handed in one Drom's Champaign in each trade slot all at once and got the blanket - which is no-drop.

My druid then took the blanket, down to the prisoner under the arena in WFreeport, where I gave it to him with one ration of goo and one shot of bog juice. He gave me the key which was also no-drop.

She ported to Misty Thicket and ran into HHK. The very first banker accepted the key and gave me the note. This note is NOT not-drop. I handed the note to a mule on my 2'nd account, and then back to my pally.

I then ran up to NFp, handed Merko the poison sack (didn't hail him or anything). He gave me the token of bravery and told me to give it back to him, along with the token of generosity. I gave him the two items, then the guard spawned closeby in the water. Killed the guard with one swing, then handed her token back to Merko to get my testimony.

At this point, I called upon a few friends to go kill Lucan. One of my buddies has a KoS level 60 cleric. The cleric pulled Lucan and a few guards to the zone. I hailed Lucan to keep him around while the rest of the guards went back to their posts. Lucan only wanders if he sees a rat or some other yard trash about, then proceeds to run up to it and kill it. After all the guards were cleared, me and a 60 pally beat Lucan and his ghost down to the ground without either of us even needing to be healed.

I looted the testimony then ran back to NFp to get the brilliant sword of faith. Being KoS, every guard (and some vendors) ran after me. There were some KoS vendors in NFp too, but they were green and didn't bother me.

Last stop; Paw.
I ported to NK with a druid. We invised and ran down into SK, then Paw. Inside Paw, invis wore off so I had to melee a few green gnolls before entering the jail.

We found Hayle, I turned in my stuff, got the sword, wielded it, took a screenshot, then put it into my bank inventory (alongside my GB) where it will sit until I buy a book of scale in the Bazaar.

OMG! If they were truely new to EQ, or just didn't know better....
Did you tell them about the faction hits and the possibility of getting instantly killed by Rodcet?

As far as Lucan goes, why do people constantly pull him through the gate guards and have someone hail him at zone?

I clear the wanderers and house guards, and pull to the open area at the pond and wood elf merchant that gives the orc vest quest.

A level 60 can single pull Jentry, kill him, then go back in and bring Lucan out to the area I do.

He is too far to roam to aggro gate guards when he starts to run.

you dont even need to talk or wait for that dumb dorf. just wait in the bar for the bum to spawn and give him a few beers. then ask "what do you know about zimel"

he mumbles some stuff about the freeport militia and how he jacked zimels blanket. he then gives you the blanket back, and yay u didnt even need to talk to totally bugged NPCS!

so my shorter version of this quest is to.

1. get testamony.

2. waiting the bar and buy champaine off the bartender and give to bum to get blanket(if you cant then have something else do it for you).

3. make edible goo and bog water. (goo is firebeetle eye and rat ear), (bog water is bottle, flask of water and snake scale.)

4. give the items to zimel in the basement of freeport arena and get the key from him.

5. run to highpass and give the guy behind the banker the key (u can give it to random bankers because now npcs who dont use items from quests give them back to you.

Break point: these other parts are the only hard ones and you should be AT LEAST level 40 before trying.

6. faction up. get your faction with the dude in splitpaw up to ally.

7. get soulfire hilt off a level 40ish SK in mm (bring friends)

8. kill both forms of sir lucan in west freeport (again beware anyone who helped you kill him who is still in the zone will become permenently KOS to all the guards exept the north freeport ones, so tell them to get out of the zone before each kill.

9. turn in the testamony, hilt and blade to receive soulfire.

10. get drunk and party, then start leveling to take down dragons to get your epic =).

you can get your testamony at level 10. its so easy its wack. the only 2 harder parts are the SK in mm and killing lucan. killing lucan WILL MAKE YOU KOS FOREVER. thats also true for anyone who helped you kill him. be prepared for this because its bad enough that guards attack you but its worse when red guards attack you. i suggust you be at least level 40 before attempting this quest.

I still see the misconception that after one kills Sir Lucan, the faction is permanently KOS. I even had people laugh at me while I was fixing the faction, saying I was wasting my time.

Well I have Soulfire and I am amiable to the Freeport Militia. I am proof that yes, this faction can be fixed. Only took me about 3 to 3.5 hours total time to do it.

Camp the bath in MM. He spawned for us 3 times in 2 hours. Dropped hilt every time. If your level is too low you will need camo to camp there and a good group to guard you. The longest I have seen it take for him to spawn in half hour. This is the easy part of Soulfire quest. -) Well worth the wait though and doing the quest. Closer to your epic by then.

I think I just got lucky on being in there when he spawned the first time. Everytime I have been in there since I have not seen him. If anyone knows anything about getting him to spawn please post.

What you will need to to is basically camp the bath and kill the mobs in there until he spawns. We camped it for about 30 minutes until he finally spawned on us. I've heard it may take longer.

FYI: Go to South Karana, and veer to the right, you will see some ruins with a bunch of Skellies (yes, you should all know the Skelly ruins I'm talking about).

Within are what looks like Skelly corpses, they are Putrid Skeletons which will rise as you approach them. Kill them and watch your Temple of Life Faction rise.

Small note, there is a supposed tough spawn that appears here according to eqatlas, but during the hour I killed Putrids, he never showed... so save your cash, and your sash...

Confirmation of the tuff spawn. It is Lord Grimrot and his pet (or undead equivalent)who you need to kill for he Aegis of life quest. The live one was lvl 34 when I killed him and the dead one about lvl 30. He spawns in the midle of the camp and his placeholder is a standing Putrid skellie on a 3 hour timer.

Another way you can raise your faction with Temple of Life is to turn in the sacred fish. If you kill the fish swimming in Temple of Life's lake, you'll get the fish scale that's supposed to drop off of Frostbite.

Now, with that in mind, please READ below:

DO NOT KILL that fish on your main character you're trying to build faction with. Make a newbie level 1 paladin and have him kill the fish. He will get KOS REAL quick by killing them. If the scale drops from the fish, log him out, log in your main paladin, loot it, and gain factions quickly. I think 5 fish turn-ins gave me Amiable faction.

Why make a level 1 paladin when a level 1 SK can do it better & faster. Try getting a bind near the water for the SK. Beware when looting, sometimes a NPC will attack you for that.

I am now level 33 and will be going after Xicotl(level 36) soon... point is you can get all the grunt work done early... I now, only need these 2 pieces, and I'm off to Splitpaw to get my Soulfire.

Paladin Quest Soulfire— THE NO BS WAY OF DOING IT
Written By:
Balthir Oakenshield
57 Knight of Tarew Marr
I have read over many various guides to this quest and comments posted on pages. From paladins complaining about how they somehow managed to lose their Soulfire and wish to obtain it once again or from how some are just stuck in the middle somewhere. The quest indeed starts off with Kalatrina Plossen but the entire beginning part of this quest can actually be skipped…

IMPORTANT: This quest can be done again with bottomed faction, I have killed Sir Lucan three times now and can still complete the quest, some of the parts just require more care and one or two invisses.
I figured out how to cut at least two hours off of the quest for all you first timer paladins interested in gaining the first part of your epic. I know that the first part of the quest can be cut off because I have done the Soulfire quest 3 times now!! Yes three!

Soulfire-1 I completed the quest entirely as the guide instructed, and did every little detail, then while making room for a new bag I accidentally destroyed the one containing my Soulfire in it. (DOH!!) So I began the quest over.

Soulfire-2 This time I was just mad and as I was examining my guide I realized that the mini quests in the beginning where you run around and just talk to people don’t actually lead into the final four things that are handed to Brother Hayle in Splitpaw. So I completed the quest for the second time and was once again carrying around my flaming sword.

Soulfire-3 I have just completed my third Soulfire and did it via guide to the second way I figured it out. I will continue to quest this weapon as the charges run out on one, as an instant cast of Complete Healing at the right time can be a group or even a raid saver!

So anyway here is how the quest is done the fast efficient way or if you are looking to request the weapon…
First go the East Freeport and head to the docks. At the docks is a bar called the Seafarers Roost. In it there is one merchant and a place where there are random spawns off to the side of the bar. The merchant sells something called Drom’s Champagne, buy 4 and head over to the open part of the room and wait for Tykar Renlin to spawn. He looks like a madman from the Ro deserts. When hailed he says something about being thirsty and then hand him the champagnes one at a time, upon the fourth you receive a blanket.
In the West Freeport arena down in the dungeons is a prisoner, he is the person the blanket is given to, along with some Edible Goo and Bog Juice. Edible Goo is made with the baking tradeskill and requires no prior experience, all u need is a rat ear, and fire beetle eye combined in an oven. Bog Juice requires no prior skill in brewing and is made with a bottle, water, and a snake scales combined in a brew barrel.
Give the Blanket Edible Goo and Bog Juice to the prisoner and he hands you a key marked H.K. 102. The key is for a lock box in High Hold Keep. Head to High Hold Keep and hail the banker then hand her the key. You receive a note to hand to Brother Hayle in Splitpaw. DON’T GO TO SPLITPAW YET. Brother Hayle just tells you what the last three pieces of Soulfire are.
What Brother Hayle tells you that you need to retrieve is a Glowing Sword Hilt, Brilliant Sword of Faith, and Testimony.
The Glowing Sword Hilt comes off of a level 40 Shadow Knight in Mistmoore, named Xicotl. The easiest way to reach him is head through the graveyard and through the secret wall in the back. Go up the stairs and through another secret wall nearly straight ahead but slightly to the left and head up more stairs until you reach the gargoyle room and make a 180-degree turn where there is a hall that appears as a dead end. It is a secret wall and you can run right through it, once inside there should be three spawns, Xicotl’s PH a Mistmoore Guard or if you are lucky Xicotl himself will be up, and one in the hottub in the middle of the room and one in the corner of the room to the left.
The Testimony is actually a mini-quest that takes place mostly in the East Commonlands. The Testimony quests starts with Merko Quetalis in North Freeport in the Hall of Truth, he gives you a note to give to Altunic Jartin in EC. His house is the closest to the West Commonlands zone and is off the left side of the path, if you are lucky he will be inside, although he can be found occasionally wandering around EC. After hailed and the quest lines said, you hand him the note and go directly outside his house to find Squire Narl, kill him and give his head to Jartin. Immediately after giving the head to Jartin, he asks for a cloth shirt, not a small or large one, just a cloth shirt. It can be bought at a merchant at one of the inns. After giving him the shirt he thanks you and hands you the Token of Generosity. Head back to North Freeport and hail Merko again saying I have earned the token of generosity, he then tells you to go slay a Dune Tarantula in North Ro and bring back a venom sac. Just buy one along with the shirt at an inn in EC. Hand him the venom sac and he gives you the Token of Bravery. In order to get your Testimony he says give both the Token of Generosity and Bravery back to him to do the next part of the quest. The token of truth is obtained when you kill Guard Willa in the sewers right next to the Hall of Truth. Run right back to Merko and give him the token from, Willa’s corpse and he gives you the Testimony.
Killing Sir Lucan D’lere in West Freeport obtains the Brilliant Sword of Faith. Lucan is in the militia house in West Freeport. Pulling Lucan out can be tricky if the person is not 60. Brother Jentry is Lucan’s sidekick and is a spawn right next to Lucan. If the puller is not 60 Jentry will follow Lucan. Brother Jentry is a cleric that will CH Lucan if not dealt with first ie. mez or killed. Once Lucan is down Lucan turns into a skeleton and must be killed again. Lucan’s skeleton drops a testimony of truth. Head to the Hall of Truth in North Freeport and hail Valeron Dushire. After all the quest lines are said hand him the testimony from Lucan and you receive the Brilliant Sword of Faith.
This is the trip you get Soulfire on!! Now you have all three pieces head to Splitpaw. In Splitpaw a companion is needed to get back out of the jail where Brother Hayle is located. Someone has to be there to open the jail doors. Brother Hayle is located in a dungeon within Splitpaw, get a map of Splitpaw—one at this link http://www.eqatlas.com/splitpawmap.html The note that you received from the banker in High Keep needs to be handed to Brother Hayle after hailing and quest lines are said. Brother Hayle gives you a note back and this is when you receive the holy weapon.

Give Hayle:
-Glowing Sword Hilt
-Brilliant Sword of Faith
-Testimony
-The note that Hayle just gave back to you

Hayle gives you:
-Soulfire

The dwarf that you end up giving zimels bladesprice list never showed up, luckily for me, the beggar did. I found out that you dont have to meet him at the bar and go on through all his long and boring dwarf speeches, all you need to do is dish out 4 plat or so to get the beggar drunk off his **** so he'll give ya the blanket.

I cant buy

I went to seafarer's roost and I tried to buy something from the alcohol merchant, but he keeps on saying something like, "I dont sell to paladins like you." Is this a faction problem or religion problem?

Or you can do the rat whisker/note quests down in the underground tunnels under the bar. I did this about 2 dozen times (took about 2 hours) and went from dubious to amiable with the "evil" side of FP.

I bet you killed boomba the big. never kill boomba the big. its very tempting. i did it and am dubious with merchants, buy craploads of orc pawn picks and take them to some guy named hallard in efp and hand them in 4 at a time. It makes it worse if you're kos there.

HK Note

Like a moron, I didn't research what Qeynos faction I needed when you turn the HK note into Brother Hayle in Splitpaw. I mistakenly thought amiable was good enough.

Instead of giving me back the HK note, he gave me one telling Zimel himself to come or send someone noble enough. So, I did the faction quest, and returned to Brother Hayle. He accepted the "nobility note" and gave me the Soulfire quest.

But he did NOT give me back the original HK note although he spoke as if he DID.

My question is this. Do I need to get another HK note, or just give him the other 3 turn ins to get the Soulfire?

Any ideas? Opinions?

(edit typo: consused = confused)

I'm just beginning my Soulfire quest, and as usual I came to Allakhazam for help. After reading this write-up for Zimel's Blades and all the associated quests as well as all the helpful comments, I found myself to be somewhat confused. I'm sure all the answers can be found within these walls if you dig through all the comments, but I was relieved to find a very well written, complete essay on the Paladins of Norrath site for doing the Soulfire quest. To reach this essay, click here. You'll be glad you did.

I read the essay. The Qeynos faction part is harder (and costlier) than it need be.

The EASY thing to do is go to South Karana. Go east along the river, and you will find a raider camp. They will prolly be green to you when you get to this point in your Quest, although you could get a group together and camp these guys for XP at lower levels.

They spawn 6 or so at a time and respawn quickly. You'll want to loot red sashes. I got roughly one for every 6 kills. Take as many empty containers as you can. You can also sell looted weapons at the bridge just inside NK.

You then turn the sashes into Chesgard Sydwyn in the Temple of Thunder area in Qeynos. As you turn them in, he gives you some coin, a minor item, and faction.

Conveniently, there's a vendor right next to him who will buy the reward items you get.

I turned in 57 to get warmly with the Priests of Life. Took me 3 trips, but between looted wepaons, and rewards for sash turn-ins, I made about 150pp per trip.

It prolly takes as long or longer to kill the raiders, but instead of spending 160pp, you can get XP (if you do this early on) and make some coin.

One final note. There ARE bandits in WK, but you gotta do a lot of running around and less sashes drop. I tried it both ways. The SK raider camp is the way to go.
Qeynos Faction-The easy way

Plase...Qeynos faction is EASY as cake to get. Have one of your friends make a newb in Qeynos-SK is perfect. Use your paladin to buff him up and take him to the pool under the UFO. Let the SK hunt the fishies and when he kills them..YOU loot the fish and turn them into the guy walking around the pool. Don't let him catch your friend killing the fish-or he's dead. I was actually able to make my own mule...kill the fish-see the corpse and log onto my paladin and loot and turn in. Only took me 5 fish to become Ally. Good luck my brothers and sisters.

I just tried this, and I looted the fish, and handed them into the right guy and he said something like this is a delicate matter that needs to be handled by our most trusted servants. Is this becuase I am only indiff atm?

I just did this part last night. Tykar the beggar pops right at the bar at 1pm and again at 3pm.

I bought 8 droms just in case. You can give him all 4 at once (one in each trade slot) which I suggest doing because he de-spanws in about 60 seconds.

Zimel (who appears simply as "a prisoner") is the only guy in the jail under the arena. The NPC's in the cellblock conned amiable to me. I have ally faction with the Knights of Truth and am KOS
with the FP Militia.

Hail the prisoner and give him the blanket, bog juice and edible goo all at the same time and you have your key.

for the low lvl paladin : Do you know what warmly means? it means you are in very good terms with the Knights of Truth, so give him the testimony.
For the Others : Be careful with Brother Hayle, don't forget to check his faction (Temple of Life, Qeynos).

A guy let me loot Lucan's corpse, and i got the Testimony of Truth. Now I am debating whether or not to give it to Valeron, now that i read these messages on it not working for them, so I am afraid that it wont work for me at lvl 14. Valeron "looks upon me warmly." What should I do?

I talked to the Hall of Truth's spy in the Militia. He gave me the pricelist, which I then gave to Kalatrina. She did not return it so now Groflah will not speak to me. Did I make a mistake by giving it to her or was she supposed to return it and did not for some reason?

spawn time?
# Jun 07 2002 at 1:33 PM Rating: Decent
i just killed lucan today. he was last killed last night around mid night. i checked in at ten this morning and he was up. i have also had the problem with him not spawning. i have been trying to kill him for about 3 weeks. i had a mule there and checked in every now and then. they must have changed something with his spawn time with the most resent patch. they said they fixed his ghost, he popped right as lucan went down, and both were easy to kill. i had a 50 dru, 60 monk and me, a 51 pally.
Tykar and Lucan
# May 26 2002 at 1:06 PM Rating: Default
Tykar spawns INSIDE Seafarer's Roost - right next to the bar. For me, his place holder was a Gnome (his name is listed on a previous post as a place holder).
My question - What is the deal with Sir Lucan? I haven't seen him around for days! I made a mule to check in on his spawn point while I play my Pally, and I have yet to see Lucan for a week. When Lucan spawns, does he stick around until somebody kills him, or does he despawn after awhile? I spoke to a GM and she said that Lucan now spawns about every four or five days. Are you kidding me? Quite a pain for such a crappy weapon. If only I didn't need it for my Epic! Anyhow, if anybody has any info on Lucan I'd really appreciate it! thx :)

Um you do not need to go around talking to Groflah and Katrina and whoever else they are. just get the Brilliant Sword of Faith, Glowing Sword Hilt, Testimony, and Sealed Note.
BTW Xicotl's PH is a mistmoore guard. Me and my friend sat outside the 'bath' and waited after clearing it out. we were kind of talking and stuff and then i saw on my screen 'Xicotl begins to cast a spell...' i thought he was a dark elf and we went into the bath and i saw he was a troll ... surprized the hell out of me hehe.
think he was hittin anywhere from 70-90 dmg. i had to LoH but we got him ok ... cept i got killed on the way out hehe
