I didn't find I had to kill many placeholders, I've hunted this zone quite a bit and most of these guys are fairly regular adversaries.

This solo task does not have a time limit.
This task begins with Rokiln the Hunter in Vergalid Mines. You say, 'Hail, Rokiln the Hunter' The spirit speaks slowly, 'Greeetinnngs. . . Though you be not my kindred, you have proven your worth by delivering these noble hunting trophies to honor my grave. In return for this great service, Troll, I will tell you the [tale] of this tomb.' You say, 'What tale?' Rokiln the Hunter says 'For many years, my ancestors held these mines, until the dragon men came. . .' Rokiln now offer his four different tasks... Rokiln's tomb was once a vestibule for storing artifacts of the giants. The tomb has since been raided and looted by drakkin who have overrun the mines. Among the objects stolen by Dyn'leth's armies was an old giant artifact known as the Shield of the Otherworld. The artifact held special spiritual significance to the giants as it contained the names of all their fallen warriors, heroes, and kings on three interlocking disks. Dyn'leth, realizing this significance, smashed the disk and awarded the broken shards to his various captains and commanders as trophies. The Disk of Kings was given to followers of Dyn'Leth assigned to the Ashengate. Return the remnants of the Disk of the Kings to Rokiln at his tomb. Return the First Fragment of the King's Disk to Rokiln's Tomb 0/1 (Vergalid Mines) This is dropped by Attendant Jin`zhu in Ashengate, Reliquary of the Scale. To add something useful; they each appear to have a re-spawn time of 20 minutes.
Named mobs seemed fairly common, I think the longest I had to wait was 4 cycles for the Advisor, rest were either up when I got there, or popped on the 2nd go.

Double or triple the stats on this and it would be worth something but 50/50? Come on!

As it is yes, but with the other Disks (Disk of Warriors and Disk of Heroes) yuo can get Shield of the Otherworld aug, which is still worthwhile.

Dropped by Attendant Jin`zhu. Her PH can be any of the 'a scarlet legion eggtenders' near the end of east side
Second Fragment of the Kings' Disk
Dropped by Captain of the Guard. His PH is 'a scarlet legion captian' and can be found near the end of the North tunnel just before you slope up.
Third Fragment of the Kings' Disk
Dropped by Quartermaster Ilzjinn. His PH is 'a scarlet legion quartermaster'. He spawns in the building on the east side (past where Snapper spawns and below Overseer Lhazetius.
Fourth Fragment of the Kings' Disk
Dropped by Advisor Neezin D`rahl. His PH is one of the two scarlet legion mobs at the very end of the east side past the egg tenders. He also drops a key to the grate that leads to the middle (Key of Flame)
Fifth Fragment of the Kings' Disk
Dropped by Griffon Trainer Ahrendes. His PH is 'a griffon trainer' near the griffons in the very first room you come to going east (referred to in some tasks as the temple).

Any idea who drops the 6th fragment ?
By the time you get to all the different named and are able to clear them out, This 50/50/50 augment with spell shielding is probably useless. Heck the Captain for disk 2 drops the 90/90/90 augment, and hes a lvl 80 mob.
Not to mention the silly 60-65 level requirement. " Lvl 62 Warrior forming Ashengate Captain group PST " hehe. Since Ashengate mobs all see thru invis or whatever, no way is anybody going to get an alt there to loot the disks.
There must be something missing here. A key flagging step or something besides this lame reward for clearing all those Ashengate mobs and completing this quest. Maybe its an augment mixup also.

If you are serious enough about an alt to do these kind of quests then you will have the means to get em there.
But I do agree that the quest in itself is... questionable, seeing that you can buy 50 or 55 augs. =)
Rumor has it that all 3 disks will be combinable into a greater aug but until or if that actually works I'm not wasting my time but rather get 65-100 dropped augs. =)
