This task begins with Historian Pewdri in Crescent Reach (findable).
You say, 'Hail, Historian Pewdri' Historian Pewdri says ' Hello there, adventurer. Are you by any chance heading out into the [Moors]?' You say, 'I am heading out into the Moors' Historian Pewdri says 'Hum, well you see. I am Rather tied down with paperwork here within the city, but I would rather be out in the field at heart. I've been trying to find some like-minded scholars who would be willing to [collect] some relics for me.' You say, 'I am willing to collect some relics' Historian Pewdri says 'I am researching the ogres that once lived here. I have had luck finding a relic here and there, but could really use some more. There is a ruined [tower] in particular that may hold an item or two.' You say, 'What tower?' Historian Pewdri says, 'It's a rather creepy area, to be honest, I have been dying to check it out myself, but I am afraid I won't make it out myself for a few days. Would you be willing to search for some [relics] or [exotic remains]?' You say, 'Exotic remains?' Historian Pewdri says 'If you're especially stout of heart and you manage to venture into the Tower itself you may find some [traces] of the mortals who once inhabited the Tower and who now haunt its halls. If you find anything of interest lying about bring it to me and I will examine it!' You say, 'Traces?' You have been assigned the task 'Return the remains from the Tower to Historian Pewdri' Historian Pewdri says 'Oh it could be anything, anything at all, but I expect you'll find a pile of bones or two lying about and who knows what hidden gems of knowledge might be resting there! I can't wait to hear what you find!' Historian Pewdri wants you too find any remains of the Ogres that used to be in the tower. Return anything of interest to him. This task has an eight-hour timer. On the second floor of the watchtower in Blightfire (northwestern corner of the zone), there is a small pile of bones on the floor at location 1809.58, 2993.59, 322.19. It will appear, but have no name in target window. Open it and loot Watchtower Remains. Return to Historian Pewdri with the remains: Pewdri closely examines your findings discarding various pieces as bits of trash until he finds one item that captures his attention. A scroll of some sort. Unraveling the scroll, he whistles as his eyes drag across the unknown languages. Muttering beneath his breath you can barely hear that he thanks you for your time. Rewards: You gain experience! (about 13% of a level in Level 41) | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

Can this level twenty four Drakkin Shadow Knight be up to the task of finding a way to successfully sneak past all the skeletons and that chick from The Grudge?
I did this quest with my level 35 Iksar necromancer. I used invisibility verses undead and went up the tower like the post said above. I found the bones in the corner of the room and waited for the undead to walk away and used my open hot key and looted it and then gate back to C.R. I had 94% into level 35 and handed in the bones I not only dinged but had 34% into level 36. I was shocked. I did notice there was an eight hour timer when I had the quest. I assume it was to complete the quest (took me less than 10 minutes). Now I think its an 8 hour wait to request the quest again because the experience granted is insane.

I just need to know, can a level 25 Drakkin Shadow Knight carry out the task?

To repeat this task, just redo the Pieces of the Past Quest and once that one is redone, Historian Pewdri will then assign his task again.

This task cannot repeat anymore, even redo [Pieces of the Past] quest.

As of this date the remains are pre-lootable.

Level 22 mage, so I couldn't fight my way in, those mobs are lvl 35-40. I bought a philter of unlife awareness for invis to undead, 10pp in the bazaar. I popped it, ran into the tower, found the bone pile and typed /open. Then while the mobs were killing me I targeted the pile again and typed /loot and looted. I died, but got 3 yellow bubbles of XP at quest turn in. Less than 30 min all told. Very worth it!

I've been there three times (with my alt) and still haven't located the pile of bones. When it says to go to the second floor of the tower, are they anywhere near where the Chaplain spawns? Does anyone have a loc or is it a random ground spawn?

The pile of bones is at the bottom of the screen, where the chat window meets the skill-action bar.
The open archway into the room is in the top left of the picture.
They are not visible in this pic but the room contains at least 4 aggro's

It's just to the right of the door as you enter the room. Looks like a pile of bones. You have to open and loot.
This quest currently appears in the Quest Journal as "Historian Pewdri's Task"

I like to try all the quests that are even remotely useful to me. I overlooked this one till I was 48 cleric. Just did it cause I hate leaving something undone. Got about 1.5 blue bubs exp at lvl 48!! Definitely worth the effort.
I had someone clear out the tower for me so i could get the remains at level 21 and got about 4/5 exp. I just hit 21 and was one bubble in and next thing i knew i was at 22 quest was great for me:)

this quest was really easy using rogue shroud and hide+sneak and a little patience (low lvl shroud walks real slow with hide+sneak on) .. about 40% xp at level 27 iirc
note that when you /open or /loot something it WILL break your hide and sneak, so open and loot fast .. i died after opening it cause i couldnt the bones back on target to loot.. but i ran back shrouded again and by the time i got there the bones still had 8 minutes left on the corpse so all i had to do was /loot the bones. Skeleton managed to aggro me again, but mezzed me and walked away.. was mezz wore off, i quickly pressed hide then sneak and was able to get out safely

Was wandering around CR after dinging 20 recently and noticed this quest giver has (Quests 15+) over their head now, hailed them and got this quest, figured I'd try it, its only XP loss :p used invis vs undead to get up there, waited for the mobs to wander to the other side of the room, opened it, grabbed the item and threw invis back up. Ran back and turned it in, filled my xp bar about 80% for doing it at level 20.
This quest is not repeatable.
He also appears not to reassign it if time expires without completing the quest. At least, I can't get him to.
I did this one with my 42 cleric, was far from easy thanks to clerics low dps and what seems to be fast respawns, mobs does not hit very hard max around 80 with 950ac but they cast, been hit with lifetaps for 80ish, boil blood, and screaming terror(mez)
Um...do what the necro did, it makes the quest *muuuuch* easier.

Did this with my 40 Necro,using invis to undead to get to the 2nd floor, then pacified all the skells up there. Walked over, looted the remains and ported out. I would think a cleric could do the same thing.
