Upon finishing an armor piece task outlined here, you will receive this prompt:

Tenish says 'My theory was correct! This is fantastic! Now, friend, I must ask if you are prepared to go [further] with this experiment and see if we cannot, together, create something truly fantastic?'

You say, 'How further?'

Tenish says, 'Indeed _____! As you were able to prove that my theory was correct and we were able to harness the power of these ancient artifacts I am now confident enough to attempt the next natural step, to further empower this item! Here is a list of instructions on how we can procede.'

The following tasks become available, depending on your class (the name of the task is the piece of armor you will receive)

Berserkers
Fire-Scarred Chain Boots
Fire-Scarred Chain Coat
Fire-Scarred Chain Coif
Fire-Scarred Chain Gauntlets
Fire-Scarred Chain Leggings
Fire-Scarred Chain Sleeves
Fire-Scarred Chain Wristguard

Rangers
Vine-Embraced Chain Boots
Vine-Embraced Chain Coat
Vine-Embraced Chain Coif
Vine-Embraced Chain Gauntlets
Vine-Embraced Chain Leggings
Vine-Embraced Chain Sleeves
Vine-Embraced Chain Wristguard

Rogues
Bone-Bladed Chain Boots
Bone-Bladed Chain Coat
Bone-Bladed Chain Coif
Bone-Bladed Chain Gauntlets
Bone-Bladed Chain Leggings
Bone-Bladed Chain Sleeves
Bone-Bladed Chain Wristguard

Shamans
Spirit-Seared Chain Boots
Spirit-Seared Chain Coat
Spirit-Seared Chain Coif
Spirit-Seared Chain Gauntlets
Spirit-Seared Chain Leggings
Spirit-Seared Chain Sleeves
Spirit-Seared Chain Wristguard

Tenish believes that he can further increase the power of the item you previously created by adding in a powersource, a collector of magical energies. Tenish has been able to confirm that such items have been discovered in both the Vergalid Mines and the Giant City of Valdeholm.

Bring back the item you created and a powersource and deliver it to Tenish so that he can complete the final stage of your experiment.

Quest Steps:

1. Deliver 1 [Part 1 Armor Piece] to Tenish
2. Deliver 1 A Faintly Powersource to Tenish

A Faintly Powersource drops from various named mobs in Valdeholm and Vergalid Mines.

Hand in these two items to receive your upgraded armor, stat bonuses inclued.

No, they cannot be Multi-quested. Each turn in results in a task update, and not uuntil you have turned both items in will the task be done, and offer you the reward.

Anyone tried to put a powersource in an augged TSS armor? Will you actually loose your aug?

if you attempt to give your augmented armor and the 'faintly glowing powersource' to Tenish, you will receive an EQ message:

"Are you sure you wish to give your augmented items to this NPC? The augments will be lost." [Yes] [No}

AC a little low?
# Oct 19 2006 at 8:05 AM Rating: Decent
Is it just me or is the AC a little low on these? I have mostly GM stuff, with a required level of 65, and I have to sacrifice a fair bit of AC if I am going to change out to the Tier 1 or Tier 2 stuff. As an occassional Ranger tank, I kinda like having the AC . . .

You bet. The Qvic armor pieces I still have had more AC, about the same HP's, and better resists. I destroyed four molds and one power source for that reason. I kept my Vine Embraced Chain Coat for the cliky, which I suspect is more of a novelty than anything else. Required level on the qvic is 65, and 71 / rec 75 on the T2 coat. I think SOE could have done better. But a cliky is a cliky, even if it is on bad armor, and even if it is a novelty. Everyone in the raid thinks you are throwing every thing you have at the target even if it does little damage.

anyone have the stats on these new armor, class don't matter i have at least on of each to compare-- tier 1 isn't worth doing for me-- would like to know if tier 2 is. hanks in advance
stats plz
# Oct 08 2006 at 1:10 PM Rating: Decent
I have made a Tier 2 pc for my War (boots) just to see what the stats were, and have seen some of the other classes tier 2 level of the armors. I can say this about them.. The stats remain the same but the second turn in will add mods and Foci, such as dot shielding, ATK, Shielding, etc etc.. I seen a Cleave 3 on one. stuff like that.. The War boot had 3 mods added to them.. They were not a upgrade for My War but did the quest just to see the stats.

Flickering is the leather powersource. Also saw someone OOC faintly glowing powercourse rotting in Vergalid Mines, never responded with the name of mob who dropped it though.

next step for armor
# Sep 29 2006 at 3:25 AM Rating: Decent
the second step in this armor quest is given by the same mob. If he does not
give you additional text upon giving you your first phase of armor back type the word "further" and more dialog will show up.
This is the step where you need power sources. Powersources for us so far have dropped off named mobs.
Faintly glowing ps : this is used on all chain
softly glowing ps: used on plate
Translucent ps : is used on silk
I dont have a leather toon so I dont know what the name is for leather.
You hand the quest npc your armor peice and the source related to your style of armor and it will add effects and change the name. Boots added spell shielding stun resist and something else if I remember correctly.
Hope this helps
