You must have high-amiable faction (200) standing with Expedition 328 in order to request this task.

This group task is the first in a series of five and begins with Bellfast who is located in the southeastern part of Corathus Creep (vicinity of -710, +255).

You say, 'Hail, Bellfast'

Bellfast says 'Ah! I remember you, _____. You've been helpful to us and I appreciate that. You also seem to be trustworthy and well, I need some more help. I hate to impose, so I'll understand if you walk off now. If it wasn't very important to me, I wouldn't ask. I need you to try to save a friend of mine. Are you [interested]? Or perhaps you've found some of the [scraps of paper] I'm looking for?'

You say, 'I am interested.'

Bellfast says 'That's wonderful! I need you to find my friend Fibblebrap. I mean, I need you to find Fibblebrap's gem. Well, I guess I actually mean that I need you to find Fibblebrap, who is a [gem].'

You say, 'Gem?'

Bellfast says 'Hmm . . . I guess I'll have to explain some things to you before you start. My friend Fibblebrap was one of the senior enchanters sent along with the 328 to help them locate items of value. He was also a fabulous jeweler, you see. He was the first of us to accept that we might never be rescued. He was the one who first understood the power of Corathus too. He purified it and found ways to exploit its ability to learn. After many years of effort, and only just in time to save his own soul, Fibblebrap succeeded in storing the soul of a dying engineer . . . me. Don't listen to those fools who say the Fibblebrap gem only holds memories. It holds souls, don't you doubt it. Why, I can prove that . . . No, you're not here for a philosophical discussion, you're here to [find Fibblebrap].'

You say, 'I will find Fibblebrap.'

Bellfast says 'Right. Well, Fibblebrap created the gems we used to store our souls. Obviously we named them after him. A few years ago, Fibblebrap was crushed when the main hatch on the Burrownizer fell off the device and onto him. There was a lot of panic. The noise stirred up the local critters. We fought through them and then I dug through the rubble for my friend's Fibblebrap gem but couldn't find it. I'm certain that it was carried away by some critter. They all seem to love the corathus. I want you to find Fibblebrap's Fibblebrap gem. Will you [do it]?'

You say, 'I will do it.'

Note: There are multiple versions of this task, depending on your group's average level. The only differences are the levels/difficulty of mobs and the quality of loot.

You have been assigned the task 'Find Fibblebrap 1: The Mines'.

I've attached a fragment of Fibblebrap's Fibblebrap gem to your compass. It was one of Fibblebrap's early experiments. Fibblebrap stored a couple of happy memories in it as a test -- which made him a slightly less pleasant fellow thereafter, I noticed. It always glowed slightly when Fibblebrap held it. Maybe it can help you find Fibblebrap's Fibblebrap gem.

Fibblebrap's Memory Fragment pops on your cursor when the task window pops up. If you equip it, it gives a particle effect every few seconds, and emotes something to the effect of: "The Fibblebrap Fragment pulses through your body and looks like a little rock in your hand."

Locate the entrance to the mines 0/1 (Corathus Creep)

The zone-in is just northwest of the crash site, in the pile of rocks near the creep reapers, at:

Your Location is -826.15, 916.55, -56.65
Your task 'Find Fibblebrap 1: The Mines' has been updated.

LOADING, PLEASE WAIT...
You have entered The Corathus Mines.

As you make your way into the mines you notice that your compass is no longer giving you direction. You search the ground and find the fragment of Fibblebrap's Fibblebrap gem that Bellfast gave you. It no longer glows, so whatever magic Bellfast used to attach it to your compass must have amplified its ability to sense the original gem. You'll have to seek the gem the old fashioned way from here on.

Find Fibblebrap's Memory Fragment 0/1 (Corathus Lair)

/loc 45,0.00

Find Fibblebrap's Fibblebrap gem 0/1 (Corathus Lair)

The Fibblebrap gem you found glows slightly when brought near to your compass. It must be another fragment from Fibblebrap's Fibblebrap gem. You'll want to save this for Bellfast

The fragment is removed from your inventory.

Pick up the memory fragment again off the ground a few feet in front of you (groundspawn). Upon picking it up, you see this:

The Fibblebrap's Memory Fragment begins to glow slightly in time with the glowing of the new fragment you have discovered.

Your task 'Find Fibblebrap 1: The Mines' has been updated.

You still need to find Fibblebrap's Fibblebrap gem, so clear towards the southeastern room on the map. Kill the "Alpha Larva" and loot "Alpha Larva Meat".

Alpha Larva emits a piercing shriek as it senses your presence.

The area is full of mobs and potential adds, so be careful here.

You have slain Alpha Larva!
--You have looted Alpha Larva Meat.--

Continue to the southeast to "Creeper Clicktok". Whoever looted the meat needs to hail him:

You say, 'Hail, Creeper Clicktok'

Creeper Clicktok says, 'Scanning target for Alpha Larva meat . . . Processing.'
Creeper Clicktok says, 'Item found. Alpha Larva Meat. Acquiring item from entity.'
Creeper Clicktok says, 'Initiating reward sequence . . . Please wait.'

Your task 'Find Fibblebrap 1: The Mines' has been updated.

You have received a character flag!

You've recovered the missing Fibblebrap Fragments! Return them to Bellfast at once!

Upon completion, you receive a reward on your cursor, a worn old chest will spawn with additional loot, and the person who looted the Alpha Larva Meat and hailed Creeper Clicktok will receive a Fibblebrap Gem Fragment (TEMPORARY!) in inventory.

You may then head back to Bellfast and turn in the gem fragments (both the groundspawn and the Clockwork-given one):

Bellfast says 'Bellfast takes the Fresh Fibblebrap gem and looks at it wistfully. He then pops it into his mouth! A moment later he pulls it out of his mouth again and explains 'I guess you don't understand. We can, um, read the thoughts in each other's gems if we touch them together. It's very unpleasant for both parties and is considered terribly rude. It's a complete invasion of the mind of another person and we just don't do it very often, but I had to know. I've discovered that this is a new growth. It must have been broken off after Fibblebrap ended up in the mine. It wasn't very clear, but I saw the mine walls and a shadowy figure destroying one of the Corathus larva. This piece must have broken off then. My best guess is that it was some sort of shiliskin, though whether living or unliving I just can't tell. Thank you so very much for recovering this part of my friend and for giving me hope that he yet lives.'

Killed Creep Reapers in Corathus until I was able to request this mission. Bellfast's dialogue changed AT "Amiably (200)" to allow you to request tasks.

Bellfast has an odd selection of tasks for level 70's once you complete your faction. He offers the following:

  • Mines [65] ONLY
  • Lost Caverns [68+] ONLY
  • Hive, Korlach, and Rescue at all ranks

Completing Mines [60] unlocks the ability to request Mines [65]. However, completing Mines [65] does NOT unlock Mines [68+], so this unlock is gated from a different mission. Currently doing some more testing to identify when Mines [68+] is unlocked.

Mines [60] and [65] do not give you credit for the Depths of Darkhollow achievement.

Strongly suggest you ignore the fact that the Alpha Creeper exists, and instead just make your way to Creeper Clicktock. If you hail him without the alpha larva meat, he will fight you. No adds assisted him and he was the easiest part of the whole instance.

Entrails
# Jul 14 2010 at 5:19 AM Rating: Decent
This instance can be farmed for Corathus Entrails.

At the bottom of the first elevator is a room full of very very low level Corathus mobs. Initially when I tried this I had some DS on, and got very few bodies. Turns out this was because they were killing themselves on my DS before I could even swing at them. Removing all DS I get about 20 bodies to loot, average around 8 entrails. Drop instance, go get another, come back and slaughter again.

I explored the rest of the zone my first run in, and there are very large numbers of mobs which, while green, were annoying and even dangerous in large numbers, with no corners to stop push, so I was usually unable to cast anything that wasn't insta cast. Approaching them with more care so I only had groups of 5-6, I slaughtered the entire place, and got only one entrails drop. I also accidentally completed the task, which lead to a two hour lockout.

For entrail farming purposes, clearing the first room and dropping worked much much better.

If you need faction for this one, try to get someone to take Fibblebrap 5 for you.
Killing clockworks in there will give you faction, the zone repops, and it will be much faster than killing the reapers outside, and wait until they repop....
But it still takes time....

Be pretty hard to do this. I know the vendor value because I sold it :(
Was not that great of a robe for the req/rec levels to begin with and the focus is not that good. Thats why I sold it to a vendor.
Though I do need this mission for two more alts. Perhaps it might be in the chest again :)

http://lucy.allakhazam.com/item.html?id=86052 Got it again after doing the mission 4 more times. The other three drops were already listed so they were not anything new.
Says on there merchant value is 185pp, I can assure you that is wrong. But slaps myself silly. The tribute on it is correct. 18500. I sure could have used that more than 176 plat.

I was not running the item collector at time of play. Prolly need to get into the habbit of doing so. Finding a number of items in SoF not on this site and a couple others I did not see on Lucy.

The secret to getting the first elevator to cooperate..... The entire group needs to stand on it.

Depending on how brave you are..... Lev can make you float through the roof, and bring the group in piecemeal.... W/O lev, you can fall through the floor. IF you make it allll the way down, w/o falling through the floor, you WILL fall through the floor if it goes back up. If the elevator comes back down, and you're still standing there, you will be TRAPPED under the elevator. Unless you're lev'd. If you're lev'd the floor of the elevator passes over you........

This instance has some REALLY messed up pathing. If you pull back to the spot between the two elevators, you will get about 10. If you go and try to fight them in place, you will get 6 to 10.......

They're fully slowable, except the named mobs....

The chest spawned at the creep reapers, btw.

I don't see how a group of pre60's could have done this task, as set that way by 4 55 shrouds, and a 57 toon. It would have taken them pretty much the full 6 hours.

IF they could have done it at ALL.

Assist ranges are high. So, count on tagging one, and getting several. Walk through an area that has already been pulled from, and you're likely to find a few strays.

Did not keep good track of the repop timer.....

Good Luck, (you're going to need it).

The loot at pre 60's was tradeable w/ an eight minute timer on the chest.

This is a good trick to unlock Bellfast #2 and it works very well. The only problem is it "may not" get this mission credited for "The Depths of Darkhollow" quest. I am tempted to say "will not" instead of "may not" because I just had this experience* but did not test all possible permutations. If you are working on the "The Depths of Darkhollow" quest, I suggest to trigger the mission at your level.

*: Did Bellfast #1 mission (my last one of the serie) with the shrouded trick last week -all to lvl 55 and unshroud before zoning in instance- and did not get an update for completing the serie which gives the clicky 50 Fire Protection. GM replied to my petition stating that Bellfast #1 was not credited and should be redone with a group of 70s (I am lvl 75). I redid Bellfast #1 (five lvl75 and one lvl68) and got credited for "The Depths of Darkhollow" quest.

You may then head back to Bellfast and turn in the gem fragment.

Note that you must hand in the fragment recovered from the floor as well as the one recovered from Creeper Clicktok after he takes the meat.
Way I did it (a few times)
# Sep 08 2006 at 4:54 AM Rating: Decent
I did'nt do it in awhile so I don't remember the larva thing, -I realy hope I'm not mistaken about the task hehe..let me know if I am:

I believe the trigger words are 'I will do it'.
You zone into the instanced, look at the floor you'll see the Gem you need to pick up.
Go down the two elevators, just as soon as you're down the 2nd one.. 4 mobs or so will jump on you (so usualy best to let tank go first), just slow all mobs and hope your tank can handle a few mobs or have an off tank for mobs that jump on the cleric or whatever.
Getting to "Creeper Clicktok" is not that hard at all, best way we found is to follow the left wall until you get to the tunnle on your left, then go down the tunnle (let puller/tank lead)...once you're out of that tunnle follow the RIGHT wall..and move down the tunnle to your right (going south if I remember right).
You'll get to a big cave, move to the big robot on the middle (Clicktok)..hail him..
After that I'm pretty sure we were fighting him, easy mob. Loot the Gem (chest spawns where you stand)..then hand it to Bellfast for the win.

Easy.
I'm pretty sure about everything I wrote here, but it's been awhile so if I'm mistaken..let me know :)

it must have changed
Now, when you go down the elevator, all the bugs jump you, but they die in one hit. Can probably do a 50 point ae to clear them all at once.
Going down the Right tunnel will take you to the room with the Alpha Larvae. Need to kill it and loot the meat. Then follow left to get out (or backtrack up top, ugh) then when you find the robot in the middle of the East room, the person that looted the meat hails it, He will say "meat found, reward sequence initiated" and give you the other gem.

If something is bugged, (someone tries to hand the meat during scan or whatever) it will say meat not found, and attack.
Just kill him. He has a gem on his body as well. But no chest pops.

repops here are 35 mins or so

If you would like an easier version of this mission:
before talking to bellfast have 1 of your group members shroud down to level 60. then get the misson and someone zone in, This should scale the dungeon down and make the trash mobs lvl 62-64, and easier to split since Pacification (not placate) woks on these. The mobs here have quite a large aggro range and bad pathing, making the lvl 70 version very annoying & tough without a full group/CC/splitter of some sort.

edit: actually scratch that about the CC, because the only things mezzable were the coranthus type mobs (at least in the lvl 70 version, i didnt check mezzability in the easier instance)

Once someone zones in the shrouded-person can remove their shroud and zone in like normal.

all I can say is take your time be careful because if you die deep in you'll have to summon corpses and start over most likely, because of repops. Either that or camp a resser when things look bad, and res up fast. A few mobs warped on me while I was outside the alpha larva's room today and caused me to wipe i was so close :(

What if all but one shrouded to 60 then removed shrouds.
Would it make the mobs even lower, or would you no longer meet requirements and get booted?

ya, I get that part.
But, what I want to know is, did you deshroud those 3 then, and still able to finish the mission?
I can see by the first post it worked by shrouding one down and still able to remove shroud and finish mission.
Im just curious if you do the mutliple shrouds, then drop them so everyone is 70, killing the 56+ mobs, will it let you finish, or boot you all for no longer meeting the requirements.

once your faction is high enough the phrase to bring up Fibblebrap 1 (or any of Bellfast's tasks) is 'i will do it'

You say, 'Hail, Bellfast'

Bellfast says 'Ah! I remember you, Latan.

On zoning in you get : "As you make your way into the mines you notice that your compass is no longer giving you directon. You search the ground and find the fragment of fibblebrap's fibblebrap gem that bellfast gave you. It no longer glows, so whatever magic belfast used to attach it to your compass must have amplified its ability to sence the original fem. You'll have to seek the gem the old fastioned way from here on" - emote

Objective Instructions
Locate the entrance to the mines 0/1
Find Fibblebrap's Memory Fragment 0/1
Find Fibblebrap's Fibblebrap gem 0/1

We went in with a war, sk, cleric, bst, bst, ranger, all 70 nicely geared. Trash mobs came in large numbers but did'nt hit very hard. Max hit from trash on me (beastlord, 11k'ish hp / 1700ac, max defensive / shielding 5%) around 600. Not sure if anything is mez'able but most is snare'able.

I'm kinda surprised that after nearly 2 expansions the Fibblebrap series have mostly placeholders atm.
Allah's has been so keenly up to date on most other mission info..
What is the dilemma with this series?
Not nocking the terrific work being done at this wonderfull site, just curious is all.

Group missions

Ok.. I'm feeling a little retarded here. I've been working on the solo tasks given by Bellfast to see if it will allow me to do the group missions afterwards(I only need the Bellfast missions to complete the Depths of Darkhollow task). I haven't completed the solo task yet, but can anyone confirm that I even need to? Is Bellfast's set of solo tasks even related to his group tasks at all?
This mission sucks

Tried this mission today and it is a real pain. We didn't finish because had to go raid. Here is what I found out:

When you zone in, you lose the rock that Belfast gave you. You new rock is found right on the ground when you zone in. Pick it up and you've completed a step. Next, there is a clockwork ahead of you. Don't hail him, he'll attack you for a round. You have to move your group onto the elevator and it will automoatically move you down. Continue down a 2nd elevator by clicking the switch and you'll start getting into mobs you fight.

Basicall all rats/bats/lizards are no mez here. The pathing is terrible, and there is repsawn. You have to fight you way to the southern most area and kill Alpha Larva. That's as far as we got, we wiped and had respawn and couldn't rez. Mobs were ghosting everywhere. If you don't have a FD puller you're pretty much screwed unless your group can handle anywhere from 2-8 mobs at once. They seem to hit max 700ish with max defensive AA on a necro.

If you plan on doing this mission, it'll take some time to figure out the pathing and what not.

I thought this mission had its own page already. I guess not.
Like you stated, pick up the rock, and move down the elavators.
All the bugs in the room will attack you, but all are green and one yellow. The green ones die in one hit for the most part. Others were dying on my damage shield after an ae agro. Once they respawn, they no longer attack, assist, or anything.
Most are mezzable, but the pink bugs are not. (I forget the name at the moment)
At 3k ac, max hit from any bat,rat,or bug was about 200-300ish if I remember right. Was able to easily hold 3 with minimal healing.
The mobs have line of sight agro. If you see it, it's usually too late. Snare splitting works, but respawn is a bit too fast to do it and keep moving. Monk splitting will take way too long.
Best way was having a bard grab a few, then FM, and someone else tagging from around the corner and getting 3 or 4 at a time.
South tunnel first, and set up in the elbow before the large round room with the alpha larvae in it. It's a packed packed room, and best to just pull the larvae out rather than clearing. Respawn makes it a bear to do. (someone said it might have been changed so the larva would be tethered to the room, but haven't confirmed"
Loot a meat from it.
The other tunnel, leads down to a gnome mech. Hand him the meat and you get the gem.
I just invuln'd and ran, and fd'd. Then handed. Much quicker than having the whole group clear back up then down other tunnel.
Then mission done.

Find Fribblebrap 1: The Mines

Locate the enterance to the mines - Corathus Creep
Find Fibblebraps's Memory Frag - Corathus Lair
Find Fibblebrap's Fibblebrap gem - Corathus Lair
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Zone is juest NW of the crash site.
The pathing here is HORRIBLE. You WILL get tons of mobs that hit for 600 max.
The 1st gem is somewhere at the enterance.. I didn't get it so I don't know...
Clear towards the SE circle part of the zone, take the south route. Kill the "Alhpa Larva" and loot "Alpha Larva Meat".
Continue to the SE area of the zone to "Creeper Clicktok" and have *the person who looted the meat* hail him.
The end.
PS... Stuff in the beginning coned green and all of it died to a single Calamity. After the second elevator... they con dark blue, hit for 600 max, swarm due to bad pathing. The Alpha Larva cons yellow and is stupidly gimp. All cons based on L70. Like everything is unmezable past the greenies btw.
Don't forget...
When you finish the mission, gather your group at bellfast and turn in the two crystals. They have to be handed in at the same time but they are tradeable. This part was worth 23% AA at L70.
