This is an expedition event within the Deathknell raid expedition. Its lockout timer is 4.5 days. It requires 6 people to trigger, though they don't need to be online when triggering.

This is basically a two stage event in a room shaped like a plus sign; at each end of the wings is a Deathknell Watcher and a Deathknell Enforcer. In the Middle a bell hangs over a pit.

You say, 'Hail, Ayonae Ro'

Ayonae Ro smiles brightly, flames of insanity dancing behind her eyes. 'Welcome, guests of Deathknell tower. Here in my most desperate hour, away from scores of bloodsoaked madmen: murderers led by the Master's beckonin'. Battling, neighing, braying, preening, screaming . . . slaughtering without feeling. Yet even here
his eyes can watch us. [Destroy] them all, and end this night of eternal darkness.'

You say, 'We will destroy them'

Ayonae Ro directs your attention to the Deathknell Watchers, 'The granite beasts are not of my design. See how they spy. They are Mayong's thrall, and they will alert him as to your presence here. The gargoyles deserve nothing less than your worst.'

The Deathknell Watchers come alive, moving towards the bell in fixed intervals of time, one step at a time, regenerating to full and mem-blurring each step. Once they reach the bell, they toll it and cause devastating AE damage. When this happens it looks like this:

North Deathknell Watcher advances a few steps closer to the bell.

The Deathknell Watcher lurches forward and swats the bell. A sickening dissonant tone rings out, and Ayonae Ro screams in horror. The combined cacophany of sound brings you to your knees.

Your body and mind are wracked with pain.
You have taken 11550 points of damage.
(Cacophony of Pain)

To stop them or to push them back even, you've got to damage them before they can move further - each step corresponds to a certain percentage of damage taken in that interval. The Watchers are level 80, melee only (average hit 550, max 3.7k), and AE rampage.

Meanwhile, adds like a Truefaith minion, a Truefaith soldier, a Truefaith zealot (all lvl 73) and a Truefaith follower (lvl 69; charmable) will spawn. These are just trash and have to be disposed of.

After 15 minutes of fighting the Watchers become inactive and Stage 2 starts:

The Deathknell Enforcer breaks free from its statis, glowering at you with crimson eyes as it stands upright and spreads its wings!

All four Deathknell Enforcers come alive at the same time and have to be killed. The Deathknell enforcers cast Wings of the Gargoyle, hit for an average 1.5k and max of 4.5k. They also AE a DT trigger (5x per cast) that must be cured with RGC (same DT as Demiplane gargoyles).

Deathknell Enforcer has been slain by _____!
Your faction standing with Trueblood Coven could not possibly get any worse.

The ropes suspending the great bell creak, groan. . . and unravel. The brass monolith hangs in the air for a moment, then plummets down the shaft of the tower, ringing as it falls until crashing to a halt at the bottom.

Once they are all dead, a claw-scored chest spawns with the loot from the event.

The amount of HP required to push the gargoyles back or have them stagnate seems to vary. It may differ based on which step towards the bell they are on (first having a higher threshold of damage needed to prevent them from moving forward vs when they're right next to the bell it seems to be about 10% will prevent them from ringing). But even these guesses were inconsistent - one attempt saw them ringing the bell despite getting to 85%. The best strategy seems to be to burn cooldowns on one gargoyle and kill it within the 20s window (since it heals itself to full when it moves). They have less than 1.5 million HP. The gargoyle didn't respawn, but I've heard it said that if the bell is rung all gargoyles will repop.

Our strategy once one gargoyle was dead was to spread our DPS across each of the remaining three and call for rotations when the gargoyle in any given wing was one step away from the bell. The gargoyles can be tanked/healed by one well-geared tank and one cleric CHealing once they're slowed. Send one cleric and one tank to each wing along with a handful of DPS and have some folks designated as floaters who can move to whatever area is lacking in DPS the most.

The gargoyles seem to be belly casters - meaning you need to stand DIRECTLY underneath them for most spells to land.

Once 15 minutes pass, the 4 enforcers become active. The gargoyles no longer need to be DPSed, they will stand near the bell but not ring it. The enforcers will fling periodically but can also be single tank/healed (bomb heals worked better than trying to CHeal) once they are slowed. I believe there is a 10 minute timer on this phase, but they should be focus fired since there's no real benefit to balancing them. The enforcers also cast a debuff that turns you into a gargoyle and will result in a DT if not cured.

As @SirGoonie mentioned, it's rather trivial at the current stage of the game. Ran in with a 110 MAG and waited around for the script to update into phase 2. The hardest part of this encounter is getting your group going to enter Deathknell!

Like the posters below said, this event is trivial now and I can see every class being able to solo or duo it at the most, Watchers die from one Harm Touch at 100%, the AE damage is negligible, you will spend most of your time waiting for the script to catch up to you.

Good luck on your ghost rider bridles.
Easy for 100 wiz

A 100 wiz can solo this no problem.

Full burn - improved twincast is key - and go bellycast nuke the gargoyles right after they've moved/just spawned. Take them out before they can do anything.

Then, because the enforcers do kinda need a burn because of the DT, you gate out, and run back to DK after your burns have repopped (about 30 min) - on zone in all the enforcers will be up plus a whole bunch of adds.

Do a full burn with arcane destruction (huge rune + crit increaser) and you'll take out the enforcers easily, the adds disappear after the enforcers die....it appears the event doesn't reset after the watcher phase.

I even had the DT and didn't die when it finished after the event ran its course.

No ghostrider...but this went on my farm card till I do :)

At lvl 100 this can be done by having a good amount of dps. You can kill the deathknell watchers before they regen their health back to 100. Once you kill a watcher it will not respawn and you can move to the next one. So just burn through the 4 watchers until all of them are dead and then you can wait whatever is left of the 15 min timer. The deathknell enforcers will spawn then. They do almost no dmg and have low health. The only thing you will need for them is a curse cure. I was able to 2 box this will a 100 monk and 100 shaman.

Thank you Kongfoo, your method worked for us. Group was me boxing 4 mages and a cleric and an 86 ranger looking for the mount.

We never got one of these guys killed before he healed up once but that was me mostly moving, getting all pets sic'd etc. One or two even healed a second time but none healed a 3rd time which, by then, everybody was moved and fully engaged. I'm not sure if the heal is timed or begins at a trigger level (perhaps 80%) and has a slow cast time (like complete heal... remember that? 24 sec?) and you have 24 sec to burn them down or start at 100% again.

After they were all dead, we had a long wait. We were medded up by the time the 2nd part started, just got in a corner and took them down. For level 100s, even squishy clothies, these guys were no factor. Roughly had 6-10 on us there at the end.

The ornamentation aug "of the grove" stuff drops in there too.

Hit the chest to crack it then /open it btw.

You need to do damage on each of the 4 Gargs that walk forward. When you did 10% dmg they dont walk forward most of the time. Sometimes the even walk forward if you do enough dmg.

You have to do that for a few mins (15 if i remember correct) In that time adds spwan too. After that time 4 defender Spawn wich you can kill one by one.

How is loot obtained in this event? A chest? Or which mob drops loot?

Loot comes from a chest, which spawns after you succeed at the event (kill the last enforcer).

Whoops...its the watchers that advance to the Bell...after 15 mins the enforcers become active and you don't need to worry about the watchers anymore...at that point you need to kill all the enforcers

Chest drops the loot in this event, as with all 4 events in DK. Forget its name, I'll see next clear. 3 loots + Twisted Harp String(backflag) for each chest.

Looting the backflag item results in the following text:

"You spasm uncontrolibly when your fingers touch the harp string. The memories of Ayonae Ro flood your mind. You are bombarded with with visions of unbelievible pain and suffering. You watch as your beautiful plane of existance is ripped asunder , as your closest friends are twisted into disfigured monstrosities or slain in cold blood. Images of darkness, death, and unmerciful slaughter assail you until it feels like you can take no more, When the mind meld ends, you feel as if part of your sanity has been lost, but in exchange you have gained the understanding of Deathknell. You can enter the bell tower at your will."
