This flags you to start the quest for the epic 1.5 if you don't have the Orb of Mastery (epic 1.0). Bantil Io`Tuv may be found standing between Pastseek Rhondarra and Loreseeker Olgrim on the floor where the Beastlord spells are sold in the library in the Plane of Knowledge at +115, +995, +96.

You say, 'Hail, Bantil Io`Tuv'

Bantil Io`Tuv says 'Greetings. I am looking for someone who has followed in the footsteps of Magi'Kot, but you do not seem to have progressed that far. There is [another way] for you to prove your control of the elements to me.'

You say, 'Another way?'

Bantil Io`Tuv says 'Well, there are 4 Elementals that have gone rogue. They escaped from their elemental planes, and I fear they may be planning some mischief. They have assumed new names, so look for a Wildfire Elemental, an Earthquake Elemental, a Tsunami Elemental, and a Monsoon Elemental. Hand them this vial when you find them, it will allow you to fight them, and also capture them once they are beaten. Return them to me so they can be handled correctly.'

Bantil hands you a Vial of Elemental Binding.

The four elementals you must kill are all level 65 and are located in the Plane of Storms (Swirling Monsoon Elemental: found at +2060, +240; quads for 1000; procs Bellowing Winds), The Grey (Trembling Earthquake Elemental: found at +1545, -960; rampages; flurries; enrages; procs Sand Quake; hits for 950), Shadeweaver's Thicket (Raging Wildfire Elemental: found at +3625, +110; procs FlameSongOfRo; hits for 780), and Siren's Grotto (Ravaging Tsunami Elemental: found at +255, -25; quads; rampages; hits for 750). You will need from one to three groups for them, depending on your group's gear level. As it says, hand the vial to the non-aggro form to get the aggro one, which you must kill and loot the essence. Return all four essences to him in order to complete the pre-quest.

Bantil Io`Tuv says 'Well done, while nowhere near the accomplishments of Magi'Kot, defeating these rogue elementals has proven you are at least worthy to follow his [Footsteps].'

You say, 'Footsteps?'

Bantil Io`Tuv says 'Magi'Kot strove to push the limits of knowledge, however few know that he was more of a researcher than an innovator. His strongest attribute was the ability to gather knowledge and derive patterns and trends from the teachings of summoners before him. Since his untimely death, I have learned the [source of his research] on elemental mastery.'

You say, 'What is the source of his research?'

Bantil Io`Tuv says 'There have been elemental masters for as long as there has been magic. There are many great magicians whose names have been lost to history. I recently learned that Magi'Kot gained access to some of these ancient teachings. This is how he learned the path to elemental mastery. His other disciples and myself thought this knowledge was gone forever, until we learned that the original tomes were stored here, in the [Great Library].'

You say, 'Great Library?'

Bantil Io`Tuv says 'There is little that has ever been written that has not, or will not, sit on the shelves here. Sadly, when I finally managed to make it here, the tomes were missing. No one seemed to know where they have gone or why. I have been searching for clues telling of where these tomes vanished to, and finally, the [pieces] are starting to come together.'

You say, 'Pieces?'

Bantil Io`Tuv says 'I am hesitant to use the word conspiracy, however the more I find, the more that seems to be the best choice. I found this note while searching for the tomes. I suspect it may lead you to finding the first of the missing tomes, sadly I do not recognize the language.'

He gives you a Tattered Note.

If you don't have a higher level or guupildies,
Wait til 70+ to start this.

I tried the "easiest" of the 4 first and he beat me so bad. I have a 65 mag / bst box and got him to 70% before losing our pets and running.

Mage EPIC 1.0

Hej,

I just started back with my Mage level 66 after 5 years. As I had not done the EPIC 1.0 for the Orb of Mastery, I decided to start on that.

No problem with the first 3 parts; Rykas in Lake Ratheear, Johsohn Aksotin West Commonlands (but there I didn't get any responses from Johnsohn after him saying 'where did you get this token' so I got another token from Rykas and gave it Johsohn who once again did not say anything, 'except where did you get this token'

Next I got the page of Magi'Kot page 1 in Kithicor Forest....but when I went to Estate of Unrest I have not been able to pop the Tentacle Terrors for page 2 after two days....lot of loot though ;-) Actually I have not seen Tentacle Terrors anywhere.

What is wrong?

Thank you for letting me know that it was fixed. I reported it as broken on the 8th, the day I hailed the guy 3 times with no response and no vial. Now I will give it a try. Thanks again everyone for letting me that it is now fixed.

QUEST IS NOT BROKEN!!!!!!!!!!!! Completed 2-11-2014

Some useful things nobody bothered to mention:

The wind elemental will cause your characters to spin uncontrollably making it difficult to cast
The earth elemental will send your characters flying away with a knockback spell

The earth and water are the hardest elementals to kill and do quite a bit more damage than the fire and air (fire is actually the easiest to kill)

To get to the fire elemental you have to swim down into lava using page down, and you fight him while in lava
(page down makes you dive page up makes you surface in water/lava you have to even out how many times you hit them if you want to swim straight)

The water elemental is in a pool of water but you can cast from the ledge above

I am level 70 and I probably would have gotten my *** kicked by these elementals solo (the earth one killed 2 70+ mercs before our nukes finally got him), I did it with the help of a 75 wizard and buffs from a 59 shaman. They all came up as dark blue aura, which is somewhat deceptive given how strong they actually are.

As of this posting; this quest is broken.

Bantil lo 'Tuv is on the same floor as the Beastlords spells standing next to Loreseeker Olgrim.

I am level 74. Hail him and no response. Say another way and he says yes:

'Well, there are 4 Elementals that have gone rogue. They escaped from their elemental planes, and I fear they may be planning some mischief. They have assumed new names, so look for a Wildfire Elemental, an Earthquake Elemental, a Tsunami Elemental, and a Monsoon Elemental. 83 Mage 23 AA in Run Speed and Spell Casting Mastery only.

83 Fire Pet + Tier 4 Tank Merc + RS Pet took a total of 3 minutes actual fighting time for all 4 mobs.

Maybe 30 minutes total because I play on a laptop and load times are slow when zoning.

Prequest is easy to do. I solo'd the whole thing (no merc) at 76/450. Some of the fights were close but I prevailed. The hardest part was finding the mob in Siren's Grotto. The whole thing took about 90 minutes.

While you're in Siren's, go to WW and get the 4 ice burrower's meats you'll need for later in the 1.5. It will save you a trip back.

1.0 is ridiculous. Read up on 1.5 prequest. Bantil lo'Tuv responds to a lvl 53 with "Greetings. It is nice to meet you, I am afraid I don't have much time to talk. It is very nice to meet you however." Tried saying "another way?" to him, no joy. same response.

Concur on the 255,-25 loc. Intended to post that myself a year ago but did not, thank you Fayendyr.

Some, if not ALL the prequest could be solo'd by a 12k/12k 400aa mage but would probably take a good fight and maybe a couple tries on some mobs. One stickler would be Siren's Grotto. It's a PITA to get to the mob camp w/o succor (done it both ways). Siren's is a crowded zone of social runners with perhaps 8-15K hps.

If you plan to solo, come prepared for all mage strats, stunning, rooting, spamming, nuking, healing and by all means have the 75 (or 80) fire pet loaded (raging/racorous servant). If you're 80 and have a lot of aa's, enhanced minion I., etc., these are easy fights.

Yes, from each of the elementals (easily one grouped) the mage loots:

Captured Earthquake Elemental
Captured Monsoon Elemental
Captured Tsunami Elemental
Captured Wildfire Elemental

After turing in the 4 captured elementals this is the text that follows:

You say, 'Hail, Bantil Io`Tuv'
Bantil Io`Tuv says 'Greetings. I am looking for someone who has followed in the footsteps of Magi'Kot, but you do not seem to have progressed that far. There is [another way] for you to prove your control of the elements to me.'
