This task grants you access to Master Vule's area and takes approximately 2 hours. This is now a group task, and every person in the group gets flagged.
Mercs count toward the 3 players required to request this task. Find the Doorman in Dreadspire Keep. You say, 'Hail, Doorman' Doorman says 'Hello most honored guest. I hope all is going well with you and that everything here is to your satisfaction.' You say, 'Who is the master?' Doorman says 'Ah, our most glorious Master. It is through his grace and power that we live such wonderful lives. I am grateful to be in his service, and in that service I am honored to be able to assist you. My [duty] is simple but worthy.' You say, 'Your duty?' Doorman smiles, 'Why, I have the pleasure of announcing guests to the dining hall. Considering that meals are always available here and guests come at all hours, this is a full time job. I would have no [other work]. . .' The Doorman seems lost in thought. You say, 'What other work?' Doorman looks at you in shock. 'I apologize most deeply for ignoring you! I can not be forgiven such a transgression. It's just that I, I was [almost remembering] something. You say, 'Almost remembering what?' Doorman says 'I am sorry for bothering you with my [personal problems]. Please ignore what I said and enjoy the dining hall.' You say, 'Personal problems?' (At this point the reply text changes to a yellow font and cannot be overheard by other players.) Doorman looks about furtively and then leans over and speaks in a very soft voice. 'I should not trouble you with this, but perhaps you can help me.' He looks around again to make sure nobody can hear. 'It's just that I can't remember much of my life, well perhaps unlife is a better term, prior to my duty here. I know that I have served Dreadspire for [hundreds of years], I can feel that in my heart. I just don't know what I did prior to this. It's a bit unnerving, if you can understand what I mean.' You say, 'Hundreds of years?' Doorman squeaks. 'Please keep your voice down!' The Doorman looks shocked at the volume of your voice for just a moment, and then mortified at the tone of his own voice when speaking to a guest. He continues in a more sedate whisper. 'I am so sorry! Please forgive my rudeness, but if anyone were to hear me complaining to a guest about my own problems I'd be dropped in the trash pit in a heartbeat. If the [Seneschal] were to hear of this my punishment would be far worse than death.' Again the cadaverous Doorman pauses and appears to be lost in thought. You say, 'What Seneschal?' Doorman says 'Oh, yes, him. I was about to remember something about him, something old. Yes, I remember.' More glances around for eavesdroppers. 'I remember that I, um, hate him. He has done something to me that is unthinkable. At the very least he knows what happened to me. I know that I have fallen far from what I once was, but until this moment I did not mind. Now that I remember some of my feelings I also know that I want my life back. Please, you must do a favor for me. If you can help me to remember who and what I was, I believe that I will be able to reward you with something from those memories. Will you search the Seneschal's rooms and look for information that [will help] me?' You say, 'I will help' Doorman says 'Oh wonderful! Thank you so much! The entrance to his chambers in the lower spire is behind the eastern guest rooms.' You have been assigned the task 'Memories Lost'. Find information in the Seneschal's rooms (0/1) - Dreadspire Keep The Doorman has asked you to seek out information about his past in the chambers of Seneschal Keleborn behind the eastern guest rooms. You are certain that the Seneschal will not approve of your activities. Kill Keleborn Redwave, not a particularly simple task given that he hits like a truck (up to 4100, average of 2000) with a 5.5 lifetap (Siphon of Vitae). Loot 1 Daily Log from Keleborn Redwave (0/1) - Dreadspire Keep The Doorman has asked you to seek out information about his past in the chambers of Seneschal Keleborn behind the eastern guest rooms. You are certain that the Seneschal will not approve of your activities. Get the Daily Logs. It might contain something of use to the Doorman. Loot the Daily Log. Deliver 1 Daily Log to the Doorman (0/1) - Dreadspire Keep The Doorman has asked you to seek out information about his past in the chambers of Seneschal Keleborn behind the eastern guest rooms. You are certain that the Seneschal will not approve of your activities. Give the logs to the Doorman. Bring the Daily Log to the Doorman. Doorman whispers in your ear. 'Reading this does bring back memories. I was once Seneschal of Dreadspire myself. I made a mistake and Keleborn took my place and my life. He bound me to my corpse and made me a servant for several decades, until he had learned all that I knew about running this great keep. When he realized that he no longer needed me, he killed me again. Then some time later he needed a respectful servant to be the Doorman here. He again bound me to my body and had a Shiliskin remove my memories. I have been serving here since. It seems fitting to me. Unfortunately, I do not believe I will remember this for long. Hopefully I will be content in my new role. I can repay you for your help before my mind slips away.' The Doorman whispers a word into your ear. You know that it is a word of power. 'You will now be able to enter the Masters wing of the keep. Perhaps with your ability he will offer to allow you to serve him as well. Good luck.' You can now click the teleporting wall off Keleborn's room and enter Master Vule's area. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
