/loc of Elisabeth?

Example of a quest with multiple faction requirements.

You need somewhere around 25 faction (mid indifferent) to get the quest from Elisabeth (Knights of Truth) and amiable to get the needed Bar of Ronium from Lord Searfire (Temple of Sol Ro).

You say, 'Hail, Elisabeth'

Elisabeth says 'Very good to meet you, ______. I am the keeper of the [Greaves of Ro]. Please feel free to rest and recuperate here. We shall see that you are safe from the evils of the Rathe Mountains.'

You say, 'What Greaves of Ro?'

Elisabeth says 'Go to the countryside of Freeport. There, you shall seek out any nightfall giants . They have terrorized the countryside for too long. They have protection from common weapons. Rely on magic. I failed in tracking them down. You shall succeed and when return any single head to me, you shall be awarded the mold for the greaves.'

1) You need to get the mold for the item. You do this by fetching the quest items and turning them in to the NPC who gives the item quest. You need to have an amiably faction to get these quests. If your faction is not high enough, they will request that you go to their guild and talk to someone there first before getting the quest. Faction needed with the Hall of Truth in Freeport [Knights of Truth]. If you are not given the quest outright, go ask Theron Rolius at the Hall am [I an honored member], and if he says yes you have good enough faction for this quest. Bring her a head from a Nightfall Giant (approx level 35. West Commonlands) and she will reward you with the mold for the greaves.

Elisabeth says 'You have done well. These giants shall soon be purged from the Commonlands and the inns will be filled once again. Here is the mold for the Ro Greaves. For the final component, go and ask Thomas of [Lord Searfire].'

Your faction standing with Knights of Truth got better.
Your faction standing with Dismal Rage got worse.
Your faction standing with The Freeport Militia got worse.
Your faction standing with Priests of Marr got better.
Your faction standing with Steel Warriors got better.
You gain experience!!

2) Once you get the mold for an item, you need to talk to Lord Searfire, the Dwarven Smith in The Temple of Solusek Ro. He must consider you amiably before he will deal with you. He will then give you the Sol Cauldron and tell you how to do the next step, which is acquiring the ingredients to make the metal ronium. These are: Melatite (Dropped by MB and MC Clockworks in Solusek's Eye. You can also sometimes buy them from the Gnomes in Solusek's Eye since many players sell them if they find them), Two Bars of Enchanted Platinum, Mistmoore Granite (from Gargoyles in Mistmoore), the Sands of Ro (from sand giants) and Soil of Underfoot (Get from Priestess Ghalea in the Kaladim cleric's guild for 4 fairy dusts [need at least amiable faction for this]). Put them in the cauldron and hit the combine button and you will get a bar of ronium. You do not need the blacksmithing skill to combine these.

3) Once you get the ronium, you need to combine it with the mold in a forge to make your item. Any forge will do. You no longer need the blacksmithing skill for this.

It's prolly been posted before but I'll refresh it on top of the list. :)

This girl who starts this quest seams to give you the quest no matter faction. I'm high-elf, havn't done anything to improve my half-elf paladin faction, she judged indiffrently and she still gave me the quest. Have fun. :)

Did this quest along with 5 of the other Ro armor quests. Was probably one of the hardest longest quests in the game. Yesterday I tried to give armor to my paladin , but person holding me absconded with the armor!!!! Lesson seems better to buy the stuff cuase you can trust no one including some guild members(. A months questing down the drain. heheheh. Becareful and trust no one.

Confusion over the beginning
# Feb 08 2002 at 9:58 PM Rating: Decent
This quest states that the person who starts it is Elisabeth in Rathe Mountains. However, point one states that you need to speak with Theron Rolius in order to get the mold. Theron's listing in the beastiary says nothing about this quest, nor does the quest list for Freeport North (where the Freeport Paladin's guild is located) list it as being involved in this quest.

So, my question is this - who gives you the mold? What faction is he/she on? Is amiable good enough or do you need something better?

One of the biggest things I do not understand about all these quests lists is that there is no grouping for epic quests. You can't simply pick "Paladin" and search for an epic, so just exactly how are we supposed to figure this out? I'm told that the Ro Armor isn't that great stat wise, so I'd like to get it collected while I still need it. Therefore, any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Elisabeth is the Quest giver for the greaves of Ro. She is all the way down in Rathe Mountains. The confusing part is that Elisabeth is on the Knights of Truth faction (the Freeport Paladins). You have to have a minimum ammount of faction with the Knights to get the quest.

The best way to see if you have enough faction is to ask Theron Rolius 'Am I an honored member" If Theron says 'yes' then you can feel confident turning the head into Elisabeth in RM

WARNING, I would not rely on this post if I were anyone, unless someone that is not /anon can independently confirm. Sounds to me like a good way for a paladin to ruin some faction.
is it worth the trouble or not

Damn near anything will fit in a sewing kit... if you have something that won't fit in a sewing kit, it probably won't fit anywhere. They have a capacity of GIANT, which includes mammoth tusks, hammers of flattening, leg choppers, NF giant heads, and cyclops skulls (i think).

Spawning?
# Jun 05 2001 at 11:36 PM Rating: Decent
Ok, I decided to go after this guy for his head for the Greaves of Ro. I read up about him as much as I could and then got some people from my guild mates. Im a 36 paladin and had a 45 shaman, 41 ranger, and 30 paladin. However, the ranger left which was a pain since we no longer had a tracker. We decided the best plan would be to kill everything that roamed along the Northern edge of zone, and kill the griphs and hgs also. Well, in 3hrs RL time, we never fought one HG or griph, However we did keep the Northern edge of zone pretty clear. One thing we noticed was that Will O Wisps, not Willowisps, seemed to spawn and take the same path that the NF giant supposedly took. He didnt spawn the 1st or 2nd EQ night. However, he did spawn the 3rd EQ night, but nowhere near the EC zone or camps as the other posts claimed. We got some shouts that he was near the DR, but someone killed him before we had a chance to. I was kinda p'oed since we had been camping him for 3 RL hrs, and had been periodically shouting to see if anyone had seen him. Anyways, he didnt have the head when we got to him (might have been ninja looted). The thing i wanted to point out was that he DIDNT spawn near EC zone or derv/orc camp like some of these posts claim. He in fact does spawn near the druid ring, as the Allakhazam description states. BTW, were going after it again this weekend, anyone have some good tips??

I asked Theron if I was an honored member and he said I was but I turn in my head and it says I need to ask Dushire if I am an honored member and I lost my head what happened? And when I ask Dushire If I am an honored member it says nothing at all.

I had the same thing happen to me, luckily i had a guild who knew what ti say hail him then say "What Ronium?" and then he will give you the sol cauldron, and NO you dont need water to combine the mold and the ronium, if you do i beleive it will mess up, im not totally sure since i try not to waste to manny hours of EQ doing things just to mess em up. =)

Lo All,

I see Nightfall Giants all the time. Alway at night. Most high level players don't care about a quest that gives somewhat crappy armor. Also, the head will fir in a container than can hold giant size objects. Good Luck to All.

do i need water
# Mar 15 2001 at 5:30 PM Rating: Default
can anyone tell me if i need to add water when putting the metal and the mold into a forge, it is a question that troubles me as i dont want to see that the items have combined to creat nothing either way i go, it says in smithing books that all items to be smithed need 1 flask of water or some sort of coolant to cool the metal but im not sure if this applies with quested items :-)

How to Get a Nightfall Giant Head
# Mar 05 2001 at 10:12 PM Rating: Decent
That silly girl in the Rathe has sent you on a quest to kill a mob. Sounds easy, huh? The trick is, the mob doesn't exist. All of you about to hit that reply button to say they've seen it are just part of the conspiracy designed to keep paladins hanging around WC without a bloody thing to do except buff and heal newbies.

What the silly girl in the Rathe REALLY wanted you to do was:

Run to North Freeport

/auction WTB Nightfall Giant Head

Buy a Nightfall Giant Head from any 15th level player who put it in the bank wondering what it was for. It seems mages pick up heads more often than others, don't know why, as two of the heads I've found were on 15th level wizards.

It seems the Nightfall Giant spawns specifically when high level players are marshalling at the druid ring or pyramid to go off on a raid. They go kill the giant to protect the poor newbies camping orcs. The loot off the giant is, of course, noninteresting to these high level folk, so they leave the corpse, bereft of coin of course, for the newbies.

This is an extremely convoluted quest design of Verant's. I'm not sure how we were supposed to know that the only realistic way to force this quest to complete (other than blind luck or happenstance), is to buy the head.

I spent weeks camping WC for the nightfall giant. I never saw one Nightfall Giant, although I did once see a Hill Giant spawn at night. I bought the head in one auction in NFP.

Clearly, buying the head is the way it is intended to be completed.

One last note, be sure you have an inventory slot open when you trade for the head (you certainly aren't ever going to loot one, so quit dreaming). If you don't have a slot open, it'll fall on the ground, and when you run off to the Rathe you'll feel pretty silly, even sillier than that girl who sent you off after this nonexistent mob anyway.

It most definitely will not fit in a bag, despite rumors to the effect that it'll fit in a sewing kit.

First of all, the Nightfall Giant does exist, I was killing Griffs the other day and came across one. Me and my druid buddy killed it in less than five minutes and I am now the proud holder of a Nightfall Giant's Head.

You just gotta be there at the right time.

Yes the head does exist, but obviously you can't tell when someone is joking.. re-read the original message Keyens, if you still don't get it re-read it again. It might click one day!! Oh & no, I didn't post the original!
#Anonymous, Posted: Jan 24 2001 at 1:02 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) THIS PAGE IS WRONG. A GM TOLD ME NOT TO BELIVE ANY THING ON THIS WEBPAGE. I JUST LOST THE MOLD FOR THE GREAVES OF RO IN A FORGE IN RIVERVALE AFTER I HIT COMBINE. A GM SAID ITS A RACE ONLY FORGE IN RIVERVALE. ANY FORGE WILL NOT DO. AND MY FACTION IS TOO BAD NOW TO GO IN FREEPORT AND QEYNOS AFTER ALTERING MY FACTION TO GET THE MOLD FOR THE GREAVES OF RO.
Its not wrong.
# Feb 03 2001 at 8:06 AM Rating: Default
Its not wrong... any NORMAL forge will do. This quest was posted long before cultural forges ever existed.

Also... if you had closed the forge after you "failed" and reopened it again... all your stuff would have been there.

faction is wrong to a certain degree

i had amiable and i gave the priestess my 4 fairy dusts and she said do more crap for me...so i did about 40 bone chips and i was still amiable BTW but she gave me the quest...so just make sure she'll give you the quest before you give her the fairy dusts
RE: faction is wrong to a certain degree
# Oct 15 2001 at 5:08 PM Rating: Default
You do have to do the bone chips, once, and once only, even if your faction is ally, as it is a quest that is triggered by the completion of the bone chips quest. Afterwards, you only need to do faction work if you are not amiable yet.

Diepen Dalewood,
