Brother Hidden Path may be found at -890, +725.

You say, 'Hail, Brother Hidden Path'

Brother Hidden Path says 'Jarzarrad told me of this day, the day I would meet the Erudite that would learn the secrets of [Shadowspine]. Funny, I always thought you would be taller. . .'

You say, 'What is Shadowspine?'

Brother Hidden Path says 'Shadowspine is the carnivorous spell book penned by the ancient master of Dreadspire Keep. Many have attempted to learn the secrets it holds, few survived and fewer still carry on with any shred of sanity. There are rumors though, rumors of rare individuals who have escaped the jaws of Shadowspine with a fragment of the tome's power. Perhaps with the author's permission? Perhaps not? Regardless, Jarzarrad foresees that you will be one of those individuals. He has instructed me to [help] you.'

You say, 'Help me?'

Brother Hidden Path says 'I served the Shiliskin Empire as a translator before I found my way to Jarzarrad. I can unriddle any language you bring to me, no matter how old or how archaic. If you recover any transcribed pages of Shadowspine, I can translate them into the arcane tongue so you can use them in your spellbook. I know not why Jarzarrad has instructed me to help you, but he has foreseen many coming centuries and he has lived through many more. Who are we to question his motives?'

Minor Shadowspine Rune = Level 66 spell
Lesser Shadowspine Rune = Level 67 spell
Shadowspine Rune = Level 68 spell
Greater Shadowspine Rune = Level 69 spell
Glowing Shadowspine Rune = Level 70 spell
Ancient Shadowspine Rune = Ancient level 70 spell

Upon turning in a rune:

Brother Hidden Path runs his fingers across the ancient glyphs and incantations of the shadowspine documents. 'A rare find, my friend. May this translated magic serve you well.'

Note that the shadowspine spell arc follows the same spell rewards as the muramite spell arc and that they complement each other. This means that if you turn in 3 muramite runes and then you turn in the 4th as a shadowspine you will get the 4th spell in the arc.

Thanks, added Veil of Pyrilonus since that one wasn't listed above.

Under the magicians spells it says:
Summon Dagger of the Deep (scroll is currently called "Summon Spear of the Deep")
I believe the spell scroll is correctly named now

Ok the 69 spells are droppable now...I confirmed this by doing a turn in on my drood....but when I try to had in a rune on my cleric who has all his 69 spells I get the rune back.....doesn't really make sense to me why they would make the spells droppable but not the runes...

I just look to go on for an hour or so then get back to real life. I however have amassed multiple millions of plat by being a successful merchant which can be done while the computer sits in merchant mode without me. I have been playing the "game" since the first week that it started and don't feel that I really must do every little quest to have fun nor make it a second job where I spend 40 hours a week at it. I would however like to use some of my millions of plat to get the remainder of my spells.

I played hockey, footbal and soccer and got hurt more playing soccer than football and hockey combined.

You may turn in Shadowspine runes into Brother Hidden Path to receive your next OOW spell. If you have all your spells, he will return the rune to you with some text.

To get your DoD Spells/Disc, complete the mission arc from....

NPC Kelliad in Stoneroot Falls for 68 spell/disc

NPC Brovil Pallivineg in Creep for 69 spell/disc
(I know he didn't respond when you hail him, perhaps a Notebook from Spiders in Ruins of Xill will make him talk.)

NPC Jazzarad The Prophet in Undershore for 70 spell/disc

....then Hail Brother Hidden Path.

Enjoy

Please ppl there is simple logic in SOE making em No trade, means people that dont need em should not loot them and sell them. I am happy for one since people have gotten so greedy in the game that you cant afford anything unless you farm for a few months. Hate to say it but cant wait tell SoE takes over and controls the Prices a bit in the bazaars. Prices are getting Sicking.

I've been hunting the 69/70 runes for ages... in the process i've gotten a TON of loot which i mostly sell at half price in order to unload it. In the process of getting my 69 runes I've made about 3 mill pp... and have only gotten 1 70 rune. I would gladly give all that pp just to finish off these stupid spells... well, most of it anyway... hehe.

Yes, I know they drop more frequently in places like RSS, but I pay Sony in order to play the game not sit around for hours trying to get into groups, so after an hour of doing OOCs and LFG tag, I head out and go to places where chances are much more slim.

BTW, I was in a RSS group not long ago where we got 5 lvl 69 runes no one needed... So one of us just logged an alt and got them.

My point is, if they were droppable we would have most likely each taken one and sold it in the bazaar instead... at todays prices they probably would have been 20 to 30k each i would guess... but even if prices were 100k each... geeze, that's nothing compared to weeks of farming for them.

I'm not asking for a free hand out on these things -- I've done my time.

Yes, I have a few mill pp for my troubles but it just sits rotting in the bank... have no current need for it. But will hold onto it though in case Sony comes to their senses and makes these droppable.

Droppable on FV server. Greater runes sell for around 30k and Glowing for around 100k.

FV Server has mostly droppable stuff anyways... One of the perks of the server.
RE: new runes

Yeah but sometimes its easier just to farm the pp to buy the runes because unless your lucky enough to get a group in rune dropping groups you wont get any.Which leaves you far behind on spells.

Dunno what people were thinking, but...

He's in the zone Undershore.

He spells the druid ports, wiz ports, and chanter spell Illusion Orc. They're quite pricy...but there's a banker elsewhere in the zone if you don't bring enough.

Circle of Undershore 356p
Illusion Orc 188p
Ring of Undershore 188p
Translocate:Undersho 251p
Undershore Gate 188p
Undershore Portal 356p

DoD Spells seem to be quested (go figure.. everquest?) Anyhow you do differnt mission sets to get your DoD Spells with a hail after finished. Also this NPC you can also right click and buy the druid / wizzy port spells for DoD.

#REDACTED, Posted: Sep 15 2005 at 5:29 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Why don't they just let Muramite Runes drop in the new sections? Why confuse everyone with another type of Rune that does the exact same thing with just a different turn in person?
#REDACTED, Posted: Sep 28 2005 at 5:35 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) How about they just put all the oow spells in your inventory just for buying the game? Wouldn't that make things fun! If they put OOW-named runes in DoD then you'd just ***** that they are lazy in the depth of their content by re-using old ****. They are named differently because they come from a different expansion and they are no-drop. I for one am glad they are no drop. So many people in the game because filthy rich (including me) farming oow runes and selling them. Tons of money, great!, but it hurt the game and the dynamics and i'd rather have fun than be rich--since this ISNT real life.

Afraid I will have to disagree with you on the no drop issue seperating the "men from the boys".

Getting these runes has very little to do with being uber... my main has 600aas and some pretty decent gear... however, he's a mage... and his dps is not super high in places like rss where runes he needs drop (resist fire there...at least where most people group upstairs)... so it can hinder him getting a group often. Sure, he is not completely crippled, just saying it doesn't help him much.

My gimp cleric, however, can walk in with his cruddy gear and low AAs, no 69 or 70 spells and get a group np. He even gets frequent tells for invites when he's not even lfg and is in completely different zones... hehe. I'm tired of trying to earn these with my Mage and plan to just play my cleric with agreements that my mage gets runes I win. I could have knocked them out a month or two ago had I done that, but I just didn't feel I should have to do something like that.

Getting these runes, however, does have alot to do with how many uber friends you have. I don't know about other classes but if I understand it correctly, a lvl 70 enc for example is even worse off than my mage. Other than give C, tash and maybe DD a little, they are of little use in places like RSS until they get their 69/70 runes. If they don't have good uber friends they are sol on getting any runes no matter how many AAs or how good equipment they have.

I know some don't agree with me on this issue, and I respect that. I just wanted to give my opinion on the subject. Thanks for reading.

I agree on the enchanter part of it. Those runes, and the infamous mezz level cap, put the chanters in a death loop where they won't get any group for, say RSS, until they get the runes that drop in, you guessed it, RSS.

You are missing something.

CLUE #1 - Muramite Runes are from the land of Discord and do not come from the new zones of DoD.

CLUE #2 - What fun would the game be if SOE told you everything about the game. This web site is a collection of information gathered by players who put in hours of hard work questing the unknown of the game called EVERQUEST ( and other games ).

CLUE #3 - Mister Logic I think this game is much to advanced for someone with your mentally challenged mind. I would suggest you take up pee wee Soccer like they play up in the Northwest States of Oregon and Washington. They teach a new and exciting form of the game where the kids do not keep score and everyone comes in a tie for first place YAY ! Fragil little egos are not crushed by the reality of life that is full of winners and losers. I feel this would be a game for you Tigerlord. Just remember that you are special no matter what the kids at school say.

CLUE #4 - Mister Logic look into a class that the public schools use to offer before the bleeding hearts took over. The class is called Clear Thinking and it teaches simple things like Logic. I hope for your sake it is still offered but I have a feeling Logic is no longer polliticaly correct in public schools : (

Good luck Tigerlord and remember that you will always be special to me : )
#REDACTED, Posted: Oct 03 2005 at 6:33 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Suzycu, your CLUES were still clueless. I don't have the time to spend looking for groups doing the special camps.
Turn in

It is basically the same quest. On turn in, it gives you your next OOW spell in the line. Basically it's letting you earn your OOW spells while hunting in DoD
Spells?

I take it this is some form of new spell line. It resembles OoW Quest
