Alan Harten would not accept the Glowing Diamond. He instead asks for Faintly Glowing Diamond.

The upgraded Item "Pauldrons of Piety" are much better. Ac11 12wis 2 Cha 8sta 35 mana. I got these for completeing this quest 3/29
WEIGHT OF THE GODS

Random-rare drop in the plane of sky.... blows the quested spaulders away.

Stats are 12 ac 5 wis 5 agi 50 mana 25 sv magic.

This thing is 100x better than the quested item, and can easily be gotten from any mobs on isles one through four.

Glowing Pauldrons

The worst POA quest of them all.

Idiotic.

Reward is worse than Adamantine Epolets. this one is a joke.

Don't know what Verant was thinkin of when they put the stats on the reward. This is a total POS.

Actually, let's compare.

Same AC... mildly disappointing.
One lower Wisdom... Nothing to worry about. If you're on the Planes, you're probably maxed out on Wisdom.
+2 Charisma... No big deal. How often do players at this level sell to merchants anyway? And is the two or three extra gold really that important?
+5 Stamina... Nice. Very nice, actually. I would willingly drop one Wisdom point for five Stamina points and the extra hitpoints that means.

Not great to be sure... but not terrible. Get your stuff from Hate/Fear first.

Actually, this is an Absurd reward.
And yes, I have a pair.
Lower wisdom and the same AC as Adamantine Epolets is an insult to us for even doing this quest since one of the parts (for me anyhow) drops off the Spiroc Lord, ya'know, boss mob of Isle5.
2 CHA to clerics is useless. The STA is nothing compared to the HP Buffs that we clerics have, which, if there was a bigger wis bonus we could cast more of.
And I am far from Max wis due to my Race (human) and this being my first char so my stats are done all wrong. I currently have 175 Wisdom and I do not as yet have a Sprinkler of Nem Ankh (Tho I am not *too* far from it and yet so far away, damn Royals) OR an Ethereal Mist BP for the sheer reason I have been on a losing streak for those.
One more point, there's only 2 items of interest for clerics from Fear, and that's a Dawnfire (dropped By Cazic) and the Girdle (dropped by Female Fetids).
Enjoy :)

Don't forget, there's those random-loot having mobs (the chest and the cube) on both Hate and Fear.

Have your Ethereal Mist Greaves yet? 15ac, STR +5, AGI +5, WIS +9, Sv Poison +7

Pretty awesome, I'd say.

Ethereal Mist Helm? 16ac, STR +5, WIS +5, Sv Disease +13

Much better than the other Wisdom boosting head-gear, at least AC wise.

As for your Wisdom... sorry to hear that. I'm a lvl 28 Cleric with a Wisdom of 174... and still need my second quest bracer. Good luck on getting that BP and the Sprinkler. I'm going to see if I can't get ahold of an Iskar Berserker club.

Heh, I play a Human so that's one strike against my Wis (base of 95, first char I ever made so my stats are all wrong)to begin with. As for my EM Collection as of this very moment I am missing one Bracer and the Breastplate. But that's not the point. I'm posting this cause I'm quite bored right now :P
Another factor that annoys me about these Pauldrons is that the Weight of the Gods is far superior and is a dropped item up in PoA. Pretty rare, but the Weight is 5wis 50mana 12ac and 25 MR, so is much better. Shouldn't the quest reward have the better stats? :P

That's right, 5 wis and 50 mana is MUCH better than plain 6 wis, 2 cha, and 5 sta.....5 Stamina adds a negligable amount of hitpoints. After buffs, Myself, a level 53 Halfing Cleric with 90 base wisdom (I can have 210 wisdom unbuffed, and I am also bereft of a Sprinkler), my hitpoints with Heroism and Naltron reach over 2500, add 5 sta, and it's somewhere close to 2505....hehe

These shoulders are completely usless, if I could, I'd sell them to a level 12 for 20 plat. (If I had a pair, and if they were droppable)
#Anonymous, Posted: Nov 28 2000 at 9:48 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Hey, want to sell it to a lvl 14 cleric for 20 plat? I'll gladly take it off your shoulders. :p
