This is a non-progression raid task that begins with Captain Areha Burina (click for map image) in the Norrath's Keepers camp of the Lavastorm Mountains.

Pre-requisites for requesting this task:
- Level 68+
- Minimum 6 players; maximum 54 players
- Minimum 'high amiable' faction with Norrath's Keepers
- Completion of "Turn the Tides of Sand" (Tier 2 solo task)
- Completion of "Recover the Lost Map" (Tier 2 solo task)
- Completion of "Defend the Kirin Contact" (Tier 2 solo task)
- Completion of "Sickness of the Spirit" (Tier 2 group mission)
- Completion of "Calling Emoush" (Tier 2 raid)
- Have hailed Chieftain Relae Aderi to begin Tier 3 (character flag)

You say, 'Hail, Captain Areha Burina'

Captain Areha Burina bows. 'I see a good heart in you and a measure of bravery. Serve Firiona Vie and Norrath's Keepers well!'

You have been assigned the task 'Kessdona's Perch'.

Perhaps we can appeal to Kessdona to cease the unnecessary violence and bloodshed. She could be the key to stopping Dark Reign. Rumor has it that she is wise beyond all imagination. Ascend to the summit of the snow-capped peak in Stillmoon Temple and deal with her. In case she will not listen to reason, bring a force to defend yourself.

Task Steps

Touch the Cave Entrance to The Ascent 0/1 (The Broodlands)

Confront Kessdona 0/1 (The Ascent)

TASK LOCKS HERE

Kill Kessdona 0/1 (The Ascent)

The Event

Kessdona the Enlightened hits for a max ~3,400 (no rampage; no flurry); has ~875,000 hitpoints; and casts the frontal AE "Kessdona's Burning Breath" which is preceded by an emote five seconds in advance:

Kessdona rears back and fills her lungs, preparing to exhale a cone of disintegrating flame.

Kessdona's Burning Breath: Directional AE 500', Fire (-500)
1: Decrease Hitpoints by 3500

She also casts the AE "Chlorine Cloud":

Chlorine Cloud: PB AE 2000', Poison (-475)
1: Decrease HP when cast by 2250
2: Decrease Hitpoints by 850 per tick
3: Increase Poison Counter by 36

And "Eye of Kessdona" on random targets:

Eye of Kessdona: Single Target, Unresistable (0)
1: Charm up to level 99 (5 ticks)
2: Decrease Endurance by 50 per tick
3: Decrease Mana by 50 per tick
4: Increase Attack Speed by 60%
6: Decrease Poison Counter by 99

She is buffed with a 30% spell reflect:

Sheen of Golden Scales: Self 0', Unresistable (0)
1: Increase Chance to Reflect Spell by 33%
2: Increase Poison Counter by 99

You'll also see "Recreation" being cast. This is the spell cast when her golems heal her as part of the event script:

Recreation: Self 0', Unresistable (0)
1: Increase Hitpoints by 50000

To Beat the Event

Here, you'll see Kessdona the Enlightened surrounded by 6x "inactive manashard guardian". Once Kessdona is engaged, one of these guardians will change into an "active manashard guardian". This mob (not attackable at this time) drains its health into Kessdona. When it reaches 10%, it turns into "depleted manashard guardian" and attacks. Repeat this process until all six guardians are dead.

Now, four more mobs spawn around Kessdona as her health locks: 4x "Protector of Kessdona". You must have a tracker determine which of these you need to kill (only a single Protector will appear on track - this is the one to kill):

Kessdona the Enlightened draws on strength from her protectors and regenerates. One of the four protectors must be the focus. Perhaps someone attuned to nature could isolate which?

If you kill the wrong one, Kessdona remains health-locked and you'll need to track the next spawn. "Protector of Kessdona" has ~50,000 hitpoints, so dies relatively quickly. Health lock points are 79%, 59%, 39%, and 19%.

After passing the final lock point, you can kill Kessdona.

Completion & Loot

Kessdona the Enlightened has been slain by _____!
The mountain peak becomes eerily silent as Kessdona falls. A flurry of snowflakes trickle from the sky above, quietly blanketing her dead body.

Your faction standing with Rikkukin has been adjusted by -1.
Your faction standing with Kessdona has been adjusted by -1.
Your faction standing with Stillmoon Acolytes has been adjusted by -1.

Kessdona fought valiantly against those she thought were her enemies, and paid dearly for this mistake.

After her death, a chest spawns with loot which drops three items from this loot table:

Aegis of the Amber Moon
Entrancing Silk Veil
Fang of Kessdona
Flowing Fabric of Understanding
Frosted Cuirass of Enlightenment
Golden Dragonlinked Chestguard
Supple White Tunic
Tear of Kessdona

Dropped 3 items today the 10th of sep 06.
Two things you have to know is there are 2 parts to this. Phase one has 6 golems that activate durring fight. When you bring him to 90% a golem activates. He will regen durring the fight. Each time you bring him back down to 90% another golem comes to life. Once all 6 golems are dead he respawns full health at his spawn point.
Phase two is a pretty straight forward fight. Mob is brought to group and durring fight 4 golems come individualy. Golems are much easier on thi sphase. Mob dosn't use the golems as batteries. Big point is he has a AE frontal attack so it is important to have him facing a wall. Pull the golems behind him while you fight. Max damage I took was 3500 damage.
