While wandering the Plane of Knowledge, you may receive an NPC tell:

a concerned Froglok calls out to you. 'Hello there! I know this is an imposition, but I think I need assistance. Please come and speak to me if you wish to [help].'

"a concerned Froglok" may be found near the Soulbinder (/loc of froglok?).

You say, 'Hail, a concerned Froglok'

a concerned Froglok says 'Hello.'

You say, 'I wish to help.'

a concerned Froglok says 'Ah, thank you for offering. What I have to say might sound a little odd, but please listen. I have heard from a very reliable source that the Trolls of Clan Grobb have recovered some sort of ancient chest. My sources believe that this chest might contain items belonging to the era of Ykesha. These items are very dangerous and must not be allowed to remain in the hands of the Trolls. I need you to somehow break into Neriak and find this chest before they have the opportunity to make use of its contents. I will ask a friend to wait for you in Nektulos, out of sight of course, just in case you succeed.'

You have been assigned the task 'Recover Troll Chest'.

Neriak Foreign Quarter: Find the Troll chest.

We need to recover that chest before the Trolls find out just what they have.

In Neriak Foreign Quarter, at the front gate, there is at least one of "a troll raider." Red /con to 67, scowling, sees invis, and aggros almost immediately after you zone in.

Reward(s):
You gain experience!!

Need additional dialogues, rewards if any, faction hits if any, /loc of chest, additional task stages, etc.

Nice of them to hand out a mission for a day, not say a word about it, and make the mobs high enough lvl that really only high lvl guilds that found out about it could twink all their alts with the gear. Thanks SOE, suck it!

Anyone who bothered to look around as they were passing the soulbinder in PoK could have figured out the task, it really wasn't that difficult. Not only that, when you zoned into pok the frog sent you a flippin tell to come talk to him! I happened to notice him, walked up and hailed him and TA-DAH, I got the task. I grabbed up a couple friends and said let's go check it out!
As for high level guilds twinking their alts, well its not really possible as the rewards are not only no-drop..but are randomly assigned to the group members. They just show up on your cursor, so what you get is what you get. All the mobs in the task are level 70+ so it would be quite difficult to "twink" any alts out on this task. I guess there's ways to possibly do it, by bringing 5 mains and 1 alt, or some combo like that. But the chance of that alt actually getting the nice stuff is slim to none. We did the task 6 times and only got the ring twice (randomly given to 1 person in the group), never got the earring, and the rest of us just got some xp and illusion potions.

As for the task being too high level for some to do...rewards like that aren't meant for lowbies to have.

So SoE didn't just throw in some awesome quest without saying anything, you just need to pay more attention.

Dude, haven't you realized that this game isn't about the casual player?

It still is... just because you envy others who work harder/longer doesn't change it.
There are plenty of quests/tasks available for all levels and if you focus on ones that are too far beyond your abilities then you will ALWAYS be disappointed.

Tell this to my level 66 Chanter without most of his spells and basic armor.

"Casual", as in, I can't play for long enough time periods to gather a group or stick through for a raid. Its been fine until PoP.. I mean, yeah, I didn't get much of that sweet Velious clickable stuff, only a little, but I even had some time for that. I even had time to solo to 66 with 64 AA's. I have the character, but there's nothing to do with him! Honestly, what can you do at this level without going over an hour? I could run from PoK to PoT to PoValor and look for a group for 15 mins.. and hunt for about 20 after I make it to their camp.. isn't this fun?

Sorry if it seems to have venom in this, but understand: They DID change the nature of this game. Casual players have very little to do at the higher levels, besides camp very low end MOBs.. and what's the point of this?

This isn't whining, expecting anyone to fix anything. Its simply saying, to my fellow casual players, "Look, we've had a good run at EQ until the late years, let's move on to something that doesn't demand we drop our lives to play." The people who do have time for raids, guilds, and to spend so many hours on at once.. I mean, if this is how they enjoy life, go for it.

Hardcore players, don't take this as an assault on yourselves! Its not! If you have the time to play EQ so much, great, be happy for it. Do realize you waist a lot of time on this game, and not everyone can make this sacrafice.. those who say this aren't insulting you, saying having no life, but rather trying to get across their plight. Our favorite game that we've played so much has been taken away from us, and we're reluctant to let it go.. but we simply can't hold on to it with these time demands anymore.

Not so hard

We did this quest 6 times in a row, 6 people in the group. It was very simple with a good puller. You kill 23 mobs, 1 red con, 19 whites (lvl 70s) and 3 light blues. The red is the boss guy that drops the chest, turn that in in Nek to the frog and each group member gets a reward. We got the ring linked below the first 2 times we did it, but not on the last 4 runs. Also, its completely random who gets the ring. They aren't "dropped", instead the rewards justpop up on your cursor. Since the ring is nodrop, whoever gets the ring gets to keep it. Here's the ring:

I started this quest with me 70 druid and boxed a 70 SK with alittle over 10k hp and 2k ac. I had no problem killing the the trolls. later on a 65 ranger joined me, the Warlord has a gflex that he throw off as he gets lower in health, also looked like he would stop atking till you get back in range, once you kill Warlord loot the chest and turn it in to frog who is way south in nerk forest almost by the commonlands zone in. I got a 30% to xp boost potion and 2 illusion potions.

Out of all the trash that drops from these level 70s, the Lunar Mace is the best item. The lance comes in next, then the sword, then the shield with 10hp/mana last.

I gave my bard, monk, cleric, and rogue the mace.

The chest drops off of Warlord Bortar (Leader of Clan Grobb) which spawns in the bulls pit. He hits for a max of about 1k and Gfluxes every so often. If you engage him without killing his guards such as "a troll raider" or any of the other lvl 70 trolls, all of them will come to assist.

The second task stage says something along the lines of deliver the chest to someone in southern nek.

Rewards are Illusion potions, Exp potions: three types: elixir of lesser learning 30% 1 charge- elixir of learning 60% 1 charge - and elixir of greater learning 100% 10 charge not lore all last 15 minutes

There is also an earring and a ring that can be recieved as a reward, don't remember all the stats but there is 135 hp/mana/endur to it.

When the chest is turned in, one reward is given to each person, commonly the illusion potions and less commonly for better items.

The guards will not attack if your a Dark elf or a troll, but may as a cleric was kos as a DE but not as a troll.

It is possable to skip all the guards if you are really fast at killing the Warlord before you die.
