This is the quest for the First Paladin Holy Sword. It is technically not a quest, but a drop. Nonetheless, I'm including the instructions on how best to get it here. There is also a quest you can do to get the sword.

Location: Shin Lord Room (also called the bar room by some). It is in Upper Guk, but on second level of Guk.

Party: You should probably have a party of 6 level 28 to 30 level characters as a minimum. You could use a variety of classes but a cleric is a must. Also a Bard is a great aid due to the Mana and healing songs. One of the rooms in the area (the one directly next to the Shin Lord Room) has a small slow spawn. Take this room and pull all surrounding rooms to it one at a time. You should also clear the spawns in the surrounding rooms to prevent trains. I imagine you could go directly into the Shin Lords room and camp there but without constantly clearing all the surrounding rooms you're asking for trouble. If anything gets away from you ... ANYTHING... it will pull the whole freaking place and that will mean death and valuable lost time in the form of Corpse recovery.

Time: I have heard that the time to successfuly recover GB Ranges from 7-24 hours ... wow ... We were there start to finish for 7 hours. XP was awesome!! and loot was ok. We pulled each room as it spawned and this kept everyone in XP for the whole camp. I am not exagerating when I say downtime between fights was on average 8-15 seconds ... for 7 hours.

Tactics:

1: If you have a good group (friends or guild members work best) I reccommend making sure they all have a copy of your map and routes out and in. Also mark escape routes and number the rooms !! This will allow you to manage attack plans much better. It is much easier to say "pull from #2" than say "get the shaman room." There is no, I repeat, NO room for error down here.

2: If you're somewhat ok in the money department, I suggest everyone spend 26p and buy (2) invis potions. They can save your life and work very well. I know you're going to say "I can cast invis why do i need a potion". Well if you're fighting and are low or out of mana and it becomes apparent that you missed a spawn and you're about to be overrun ... well I think that a sure fire Invis just might come in handy.

3: Running ... I must admit that when we camped the Shin lord room I had never been there before, so running meant an opportunity to spend a fair amount of time trying to find a corpse...not much fun. So here is my point, if you and your whole group has gone over the maps and your convinced you won't get lost if your running then go ahead. For me I just decided to die where i stand, possibly keeping some of the mobs from running after my party as they tried to escape. Hopefully you won't need to run.

General:

1: When you arrive on site, insure that you announce that the room is camped. This will prevent others arriving on scene and getting in the way or accidentaly training you.

2: When you're done announce that you're done! This lets any other groups know that the room is free. It is also nice to let people know because if they get there quick enough the spawns will not have reset and this will be a big help to them.

3: If you're the paladin who is going to get GB I reccommend you take NO loot. I mean the sword is worth what.. a few thousand at least, dont get greedy. Your group will appreciate this.... Yes even if you dont get GB in one session and have to go back.

Then you were lucky !!!

Ive camped the room starting in my mid 20's until about a week ago and I'm lvl 42 now. I've seen 5 GB's drop (all for Paladins in my Guild). The last one our first attempt was 12 1/2 hours straight for me (the Lord spawned 4 maybe 5 times total), the rest of the group stayed for I don't know how long after that. In 2 weeks time and atleast 5 attempts at camping the room we finally got our lvl 30 Paladin a GB, and then we finally after probably (50 hours) a GB for a lvl 41 Paladin.

Camping the gb was easier than I thought. I went with 2 high level guild mates and it took us 4hours to get it. During that time i leveled also and had good loot. Now i am a 30 Paladin with a gb =).

I was in guk omw out to go to the bank when i decided to see if the lord was camped. I shouted and asked if anybody was camping him, i got no response so i go to the shin lords room and he is standing there with a 2h sword hehe. I get a wizard from my guild to help me kill it, so we kill him and lo and behold he had the Ghoulbane, it took me about 10 min to get i guess its all about luck.

We camped that room when I got my GB for about 10-12 hours. I got mine first, but we stayed trying for another. It took 8 hours and we got a second GB. We were celebrating our good fortune and the very next spawn was the Shin Lord again with sword in hand !!!

You have looted a rusty ******* sword :(

Aye, but it LOOKS like a 2h sword. when I went to help a friend get it, the Lord spawned with a Long sword in hand. with a sigh we all jumped in to slay him, Lo an Behold he had the Ghoulbane AND a rusty long sword in his inventory! :)

Ok, that says it takes 10 hours, i have camped it for 30 hours(still haven't gotten it at time of the post), i have gone 15hrs with out the lord spawning. Now some may get lucky and get it with in ten hours but please be aware you could be camping this thing for DAYS. Yes, some nuts (me and a friend) spent 25 consecutive hours camping it and only got 5 silver plated bracers and a rusty long sword off the lord. Just wanted to let you know. Oh, the best time to camp this is with a large group of guild mates at lvl 27ish where you will get massive exp. starting at 33 i have made 2 lvls camping it and so did my friend. Be ready for a LONG camp

Greetings! I was wondering if anyone has tried getting excellent faction with the live frogloks by killing the Undead Frogloks of Lower Guk and having a working knowledge of the Froglok language.(Can be learned by spending practice points at the Hall of Truth) I am wondering if there really is a "quest" that will net a person a Ghoulbane without killing the Shin Lord. I don't mean to question anyone's sense of honor, I myself have killed the Shin Lord to obtain a Ghoulbane. When I did it, I was under the impression that the Live Frogloks attack High Elves on sight. I later found out that what I was told, isn't the case.

I had a friend who hunted several levels amoung the undead, NEVER killing live Frog. And he was still dubious, until helping me get GhoulBane of course. :P I saw a post on Paladins of Norrath theorizing that the Shin lord and his troops are somehow under a dark spell. Why else would they be lounging around the barracks when there are Undead to slay below?

Well my Holy friend, even if it out of the content, i may say felt the same way killing "nice" person , or frogs.
But to my disgrace it was nothin in comparaison in the slaughtering i had to do in search of Fairy dust needed in the Ronium componants.I had tears on my cheeks while killing those beautifuls fearies. And the worst was when killing the princess, at a point she call for help her Gearheart Bodyguard(wich i had destroyed).
I think you all get the point...why is that a Holy knight of Mithaniel Marr had to do such an evil act to get his Ro armor?
