Vyril Nightfire may be found in a secret room (behind a door) off of the graveyard at -55, +305, -235. Be warned: if you go in the cubby with him and the door closes behind you, you will need to gate unless someone can open the door from the outside for you. All dialogue can be performed while standing outside his door.
Low Ally faction with Ring of Scale did not merit the giving of the quest from him. You say, 'Hail, Vyril Nightfire' Vyril Nightfire says 'What is it you come here for? If it is to finish me off you may do so. Isn't that after all what your [kind] does so freely?' You say, 'My kind?' Vyril Nightfire says 'I would think that someone with the stink that emanates from you would know of my kind when you see one. I can still smell the blood on you from kiling my [kin]. If I had the power to, I would rip you limb from limb.' You say, 'Your kin?' Vyril Nightfire says 'Come now. Still have you not figured it out? I was sent here to check out the disturbance that we had heard of. I was a fool to not value what kind of oppenant I may face here. The [Vampires] here are of a different breed than any we have seen before.' You say, 'What about these Vampires?' Vyril Nightfire says 'Yes, they have grown much stronger than the last time I had to face them. If only the others were here. We would bring their numbers down by the thousands in the blink of an eye. Why do you still stand here? Do you wish to [aid] my kind now?' You say, 'I will aid your kind.' Vyril Nightfire says 'Hmm, if that is the case bring back four of the symbols that some of them wear. Put a fear in their black hearts that will let them know that their existence will soon be over.' Symbols of Mistmoore are a random drop in and around the castle. Turn in four of the symbols: Vyril Nightfire says 'You have done what I have asked but I do not think that I trust you yet. Soon, I may have more work for you. Also know that it will continue to give me joy in seeing their black blood on further symbols you bring me.' Your faction standing with Ring of Scale got better. Your faction standing with League of Antonican Bards got worse. Your faction standing with Mayong Mistmoore got worse. Your faction standing with Venril Sathir got worse. You gain experience!! Just looted one off a vampire skirmisher in The Broodlands! Strange spot for it.

this is a terrible quest,why would my necromancer want to do this quest? it ruins the most important factions in eq:
1:antonican bards for good guys
2:faction with venril sathir wich is ot vendors and guards making it impossible to buy or sell stuff.
3:mayong mistmoore wich im not sure if its important or not.

I have turned in 96 Symbols so far (24 sets) and no further quest text yet. I am max ally with RoS as well, and still ally with bards after the faction hits also.

I've turned in 3 sets of 4 symbols so far. I was at max RoS faction so nothing gained there. He still conned indifferently, and didn't offer me any new quests after the 3 sets of turn ins.
I hope this quest gives large faction hits.
It doesn't. :(

At first glance this would seem a rotten quest. In most cases where you have a trio of factions that are hostile to each other, hurting one of them increases the other two. This increases RoS at the cost of too many others.
Nice try, I guess, after destroying Mistmoore as a RoS factioning zone (making VP quests MUCH more painful than they needed to be.) But I don't see why you would want to do this rather than just wasting bards.
