Find Srekta Froreki in the Rathe Mountains at -2200, +190.

    You say, 'Hail, Srekta Froreki'

Srekta Froreki says 'Welcome back to the swamps, ______. Cripes! You've been away for awhile; that's the worst case of dry-foot I've ever seen. You should stick around and rehabilitate; there's plenty of interesting [things] to be found right around here.'

    You say, 'What things?'

Srekta Froreki says 'A group of us just returned from an expedition into deepest Guk. Turns out that some of our ancestors had learned to create some rather remarkable armor, well, you know, before they were cursed to undeath and all. The designs must have been lost during our years of enslavement but we've recovered a few pieces, enough to make a [pattern book] so we can reproduce their designs. You should see these; the craftsmanship is remarkable! We also found some [cultural symbol patterns] if you were interested in them.'

You, 'I want to make a pattern book.'

Srekta Froreki says 'Well, I only have one pattern book but I can make you a copy. To do this I will need a torn sash for the cover, a low quality cat pelt for the pages, a dune tarantula abdomen for the clasp, and a snake venom sac to grind down and make a salve which will protect and preserve the finished product. I have heard most of these items can be found in the Oasis of Marr. Bring them to me and the pattern book shall be yours.'

The items drop from various mobs in the Northern and Southern Desert of Ro, as well as the Oasis of Marr. Hand in the items.

Srekta Froreki says 'Well done, ______. As promised, here are the armor patterns of our ancestors. May they serve you well.'

You say, 'What cultural symbol patterns?'

Srekta Froreki says, 'You're interested in cultural symbol patterns, I see. I can give you the cultural symbol patterns but I will need you to run a few tasks for me before I can give them to you. What do you say, would you like to run a few short [tasks] for me?'

You say, 'I will run your tasks.'

Srekta Froreki says, 'I have four tasks that need to be completed. The first is an adventure into the desert of [South Ro] where you will gather some charms to replace some broken charms on my necklace. The next you will be tasked with venturing into the heart of [Kithicor] where you will hunt for a few items that I can use to create a new cloak. The third task leads you into [Velketor's Labyrinth] where you will collect a few items to make my old hat appear like a new one. The final task I have for you is an adventure into the [Stillmoon temple] where you will learn about the creatures that inhabit the area.'

Changes to Froglok Cultural Armor Quests
    # Dec 31 2017 at 1:17 PM Rating: Decent
Some of the information is wrong in the above sited contexts. The first quest is for Blessed ranked cultural armor. It has you go to Runnyeye and kill 20 pickclaw goblins...then it has you go to East Karana and kill 10 crag spiders. On both of these you are getting 5 imprints from the gobbies and 5 from the crag spiders. Please update the info on this page. I have accepted the 2nd tier of cultural froggy armor quest and it has different information that the page has displayed.

    the young ronin
    # Sep 03 2006 at 11:10 PM Rating: Decent
Just finished the pattern book portion of the quest. Camping the ronin was a bit of a pain, but I can confirm that he DOES spawn in the dervish camps. Since the revamp of the desert that completely removed the Oasis as a zone, there are 4 dervish camps in South Ro. I would advise totally ignoring the two southmost camps near Innothule and concentrating on the two camps close together near the lake. Just keep the two camps clear and he'll spawn right there; when I finally got him he was sitting in the middle of the Derv camp nearest the lake. Don't know if he starts to wander after a little bit, but if you stay on top of the spawns it shouldn't be an issue for you. Good luck.

as a side note, if you're planning on making cloth armor, you'll need the pattern book you get from the south ro quest, a compacted backpack, a large bottle of ink, a compacted backpack, a roll of plain parchment, and a quill, and a book binding to combine the items, all of which (aside from the quested pattern book) can be purchased from Zok Gleeup, -1800, -131. The combine nets 20 of each kind of pattern needed to create the armor. Will post more findings as I get more of this finished.

    Froglok book parts
    # May 23 2006 at 2:02 AM Rating: Decent
Ok I just got done with all the farming to get the book and here are some notes.

Torn sash- kill all the dervish camps and A young ronin will spawn (not at the camp) he is a wanderer so it is best to have a tracker, he drops the sash.

dune terantula abdomen- all the ones i got were near the lake off the dune terantulas, the desert terantulas only seem to drop the thorax not the abdomen.

snake venom sac- dropped off a cistern ask near the lake make sure you get the snake venom not the asp poison sac. the snake venom sacs drop of many other snakes and you can sometimes find stacks of them on vendors near where newbies farm them like east karana.

low quality cat pelt- it says south ro but easier to get in east karana and you can even make these by breaking down high and medium pelts if you're in a hurry and dont want to wait for low to drop.

The armor can be made by any class. So as a froglok SK I can make a piece that can be worn by a cleric, pally, sk, or warrior. Now if they want to augment thier armor then they must use an aug that is based on their diety. Either way as long as you're a frog you can do it.

but he needs a GM froglok (tailor or smith) to make the patterns for him. A froglok has to do the quest and get the books. The books are then turned into patterns and combine like any other taloring combine. Or smithing in the case of the slot specific symbol

    # Mar 15 2005 at 1:11 AM Rating: Decent
Started this today and I've collected everything with the exception of the abdomen. For the torn sash, I hunted the Derv Camps in the Oasis wiping out both of them five times each. The "a Young Ronin" eventually spawned and was an easy kill to my 23 Shaman. I've killed about 20 dune tarantulas for the abdomen drop, and have had no success. Plenty of venom sacs and silks though!

    # Feb 23 2005 at 9:56 PM Rating: Decent
Our Cultural forge is named just 'Forge' and is sitting in the center of town. There are 2 forges in the town, one inside the supplies building, but the one outside is the cultural one.

Now... where do we get the basilisk teeth from?
