I am currently trying to gather components for the Ro Armour quests and needed to raise my faction with Lord Searfire in the temple of Solusek Ro. I coned indifferently to him so I could not get the Sol Cauldron that I needed to forge Ronium, the metal needed for the Ro Armour.
I went to the desert of South Ro to find Rathmana and found him in an orc camp right behind an orc named Ortallius.
I gave him stack of 3pp in each of the four slots at a time. You are supposed to be able to go from indifferently to amiably with no more than 30pp but I gave him 40pp to be sure. Went back to the temple of Sol Ro and bingo, coned amiably to Lord Searfire and got my Sol Cauldron.
You don't have to use gold for it to work either. Platinum and gold both work as long as it's 30 gold or 3 platinum.

I have supplies if necessary. At a price, of course. Are you [traveling] or are you [here on business]?' You say, 'I am here on business' Rathmana Allin says 'Of course. You do not look like a traveling merchant or a lost adventurer. Someone has sent you to Rathmana. Well then, let's not waste time. Give me the item, or items, and my fee of twenty gold coins. It must be gold. I have no use for any other metals.' You say, 'I am traveling' Rathmana Allin says 'Oh, wonderful! Then you must need water and rations for your long journey. Be sure to approach any camp you may find in Ro with caution. There are many bandits in the desert. If it were not for [Ortallius], they would have gutted me and thieved all my merchandise by now. If you have any use of magic then I believe I may have an [offer] for you.' You say, 'What offer?' Rathmana Allin says 'My offer to you is this - you give me thirty gold and I allow you to reach into my scroll bag and retrieve one scroll and only one. It may be the spell of a wizard or maybe not. The school of magic will not be known beforehand. The only knowledge you will have is that Rathmana will not exchange the spell for another. You get what you take. Do you wish to reach into my bag? Then give Rathmana his thirty gold coins.' Give him 30 gold pieces. You receive 13 gold, 750 silver and 500 copper. Rathmana Allin says 'Good luck, my friend. May Solusek Ro guide your hand.' Your faction standing with Temple Of Sol Ro got better. Your faction standing with Shadowed Men got worse. You gain experience!! Give him exactly 3pp per trade -- no more, no less. If you give him less, he just pockets it. If you give him more, you still only get one quest completion. Use any coins that add up to 3pp.

Actually, I believe he was saying to put in 3 plat, 30 gold, 300 silver, 3000 copper. 4 slots of money types... maybe. /shrug

Did this a few times today...one of the spell I got was 'Charm':lvl 61 shm,nec,enc race:none....does anyone have any idea what this is for? is it a quest item maybe?

If it's level 61 spell... it's prolly worth alot... try auctioning it in EC....
Level 61 is Verants way of making a NPC only spell, also the race:none clues this. Dunno how it is made into a scroll, unless the quest just searches all available in-game spells and chooses one randomly and makes a scroll for it..

if a spell is labeled "level 61", you can't use it. it's not worth any more than what a merchant charges a member of the class that CAN use it.. just sell it...

i found this quest while passing threw so i decided what the heck, 30gp, so i did it, i pulled out a lvl 16ench and 29 shaman spell quickness, i just gave it to a shaman uncle of mine, was going to do it again but only had 33gp when i found it.

This quest is a very nice way to increase your faction with the Temple of Solusek Ro. Simply give Rathmana 3pp or 30gold (either will work even though he states it must be gold) over and over again to raise you faction with the Temple of Solusek Ro.
I brought several friends there who had never lost faction with Temple of Solusek Ro. They got from indifferent to amiably with about 30p. I've heard it taking as little as 15p.
I also brought a friend there who had lost faction with the Temple of Solusek Ro. He was able to get to amiably as well, however it took him a lot more than 15-30p.
I do know this will take your Temple of Solusek Ro faction to amiably, but I don't know if you can get past amiably (I know there is a Pally quest that requires you to be warmly). When I helped my pally friends get to warmly I would port us here, get to amiably, and then go kill Shadowmen. (The Wiz spell Supernova will kill all Shadowmen in one shot, so have your Pally friend hit each shadowman once and have them surround him, then run right on top of the Pally and cast Supernova) If you know if it is possible to get past amiably please post a follow-up.

Just as an added bit of information all types of coin work as long as the total equals 3PP. Used a combination of all four coin types and received a scroll as normal.

General Jyleel in Felwithe also accepts illegible scrolls and apparently gives low-mid level scrolls in return. Its a long way but if you happen to be heading in that direction keep it in mind

I've done the quest in Felwithe for Jyleel using the illegible scrolls from Orc Oracles in CB. I think he gave me a small lantern in return or something like that. I remember I didn't get much exp at the level 10 or whatever I was, either... I would say it's not worth the trip.
