This is a one-time per server event. This event is played out on progression servers.

Upon completion of the Kidnapping of Firiona Vie quest, Galeth Veredeth has taken up residence in Iceclad Ocean (location?).

NPCs that spawned outside the Tower of Frozen Shadow drop items with lore "Freezing to the touch," which can be turned in to Galeth Veredeth for rewards for various levels (which items for which rewards?). Some mobs found outside the tower:

a doomshadow
a deathhound
a snowbone
an ice-encrusted armsman
a shadow terror

Guardian of Frozen Shadow is another mob outside the tower (required to kill in order to zone in?).

Once inside the tower, you'll have to make your way from floor to floor until you reach the seventh floor. You will have to clear the inhabitants of each floor before progressing to the next.

Upon clicking a portal:

You touch the shimmering portal, but nothing happens. Tserrina's followers on this floor must be destroyed and her puzzles deciphered before you can ascend any further.

On each floor you will encounter a boss mob (names of mobs on floors?). Each of them will drop loot. Upon reaching the final floor, you will find Tserrina Syl`Tor along with Firiona Vie. Tserrina must be killed, and proof of her death must be brought to Firiona Vie in order to "free" her.

Tserrina is red to 70 and requires a raid force to take down. She hits for 2400 and casts a single target charm every 15 seconds. She drops a Dark Taint of Syl`tor. Hail Firiona Vie.

Once outside the tower and in Iceclad, give the dark taint to Galeth. In exchange for the Dark Taint, you'll receive an Aegis of the Valiant.

I have 6 of the 7 scrolls that were in the tower during this event. Can anyone tell me if they're for anything at all or if I should just destroy them?
Turn ins??

This quest was completed exclusively by The Stone Coven on Cazic-Thule on January 17, 2005 with a raid force of 35.

Sneaky posers from other guilds followed raid to steal titles from FV. How lame.
Easy way to tell if its been done?

Just curious if anyone knows an easy way to figure out whether or not it has been done on your server. Would love to find out if it has been done on Brell or not. Thanks

#REDACTED, Posted: Jan 19 2005 at 12:03 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) What's funny is the boss at the end is a measly DE woman, rightfully no stronger than a Neriak royal guard. Yet she manages to even surpass the strength that the female gods have. Even Xegony relies on hoards and hoards of mobs to attack for her while she tries in a futile attempt to kill the MT. There is such a thing as sticking to reality, even in fantasy...

My guild, Primal Dreams, completed this quest on 1-16 on Fennin Ro Server, WTG PD! I was lucky enough to get the Sextant of the Lost Pirate
The earthquake when Tserrina Syl`Tor went down was the best!
Sony Jack
# Jan 18 2005 at 2:25 PM Rating: Decent
Yep, that's one thing Sony has been good at--giving players that have tons, more and ******** everyone else... God forbid having an event that didn't have 2400hp hitting mobs;remember that old Halloween event years ago that had drops in several zones for all players... What a waste of time and programming to reward players that don't need anything more. On the Zeb the ToFS and surround area is a ghostland--the whole event is waiting for the high end guilds to fit into their schedule. You really are lost, Sony.

WTF do you WANT? After nearly SIX years, what kind of events do you expect? Stuff for level 40s?

It's called EVOLUTION, dufus. The game has evolved. And yes, because of how the PLAYERS approached the game, the developers had to put in tougher and tougher challenges to keep them occupied.

Idiots like you blame Sony, when you really should blame the zerg guilds that beat AoW with 100 people back before Luclin. THAT is what ruined this game. Maybe if WAY back when, VERANT had limited raid forces, then we wouldn't have seen the evolution we did. But it's too late for that so take a big dose of STFU and get over it.

I would think that with the capability of Instanced zones, such as LDoN, that they would be able to Instance these events to provide challenges for all lvls. And they should be able to Tier the loots to the lvl of the Instanced event. No point dropping EP lvl gear to a group of lvl 40's, nor a lvl 40 gear drop to EP geared raids. Sure it'll take a little thought. By Instancing these events you will also eliminate the madhouse scarmble for loot that things like the Skelly armies in the newbie zones caused. And you would also eliminate the ninja flaggers who sneak in to get the flag after the event is done.

Evolution is a poor excuse to pass off change for the sake of change. And insults are a poor substitute for substance and merit of an argument. Your post has little or nothing to offer anyone who could possibly want to read it as do you yourself. If the game is ruined why then do you defend Sony so dearly and blame people who make due with what they have been given? The second they started limiting raid forces, by force, they started taking control out of our hands which eliminated a great deal of the fun right there. If you can't get the people, if you can't gain the levels, if you can't double box, get AAs, quest for items, raid for gear then you don't deserve to have the end game open to you. They started going wrong when they began catering to people like you who don't know what the hell they want, yet won't shut up bad mouthing people who do...

Empyreal completed this on 1/15 on Solusek Ro server. I won the lock of hair but sadly the tower had already been unlocked and the turnin NPC was gone so no Sextant of the Lost Pirate for me but was a hell of a lot of fun.
Tribunal completes
# Jan 18 2005 at 7:15 AM Rating: Decent
Completed on Tribunal 1-16 basically by a pick up raid of people from various levels of guilds, was a fun event Sony got creative with the end this time.

I run a lvl 45 bard on VZ server. I have been within the tower many times since it has changed. one merely has to find a way to get around the nasties. most that are of higher lvl are able to see invis, so running fast or getting somone to draw off the mobs seems to be essential.

upon entering the tower i found it entirely empty, save for the occasional mob, that pops in briefly then disappears.

upon each floor i have found and now possess each of the scrolls

Sealed Aged Scroll
Sealed Ancient Scroll
Sealed Bloodstained Scroll
Sealed Dusty Scroll
Sealed Moldy Scroll
Sealed Timeworn Scroll
Sealed Yellowed Scroll

upon entering the 7th lvl and confronting fironia, i was informed that i should give my evidence to galeth.

more later when i find it out

Dark Taint
# Jan 18 2005 at 12:27 AM Rating: Decent
You do not give the taint to Firiona, you give it to Galeth outside to receive the sheild. Firiona will tell you that once you hail her.

One-timer
# Jan 17 2005 at 10:43 PM Rating: Decent
Darkwind of Antonius Bayle completed the quest on AB. It appears to be a one-timer. Can this be verified??
RE: One-timer
# Jan 18 2005 at 12:21 AM Rating: Decent
Confirmed. One time on each server. First high level guild to complete gets everything, everyone else gets nothing. Also, nothing for lower levels to do to help find or save Firiona Vie. The rich get richer and the poor get squat

I wouldn't say that lower level get nothing for helping in this quest.

First of all the prelude to this quest been "The Kidnapping of FV" which is more or less just doing errands and picking up ground spawns. This one would have given you equipment in the 40-50 HP category like the Drape of Firiona.

And as far as I've heard, new mobs in Iceclad also dropped stuff which could be turned in for rewards one category higher. These mobs were probably groupable by most decent 65+ players.

Just the tower itself and the freeing of FV is "major" guild only - the fighting itself would be somehow challenging, but doable for a mid-PoP-guild with a decent number of people I guess.

So this quest as a whole is not just "for the rich", but really divided into 3 levels of difficulty. Loots inside the Tower were not that plenty anyway - we got 3 Shadowbash and the Aegis of the Valiant for clearing the whole tower, so it's not really that good in terms of time-reward-ratio. The real reward of this event are the unique titles.
