You say, 'Hail, Ranguali'
Ranguali squints and stares as if sizing you up. 'Another adventurer come to the coliseum looking for fame and glory? Hmph. You have no idea what you're up against. [Taskmistress Krisz] would destroy you in the blink of an eye. She keeps the slaves here in line and she keeps the Legion of Mata Muram in line. Only a fool would dare to even look at her wrong, much less incur her wrath.' You say, 'Who is Taskmistress Krisz?' Ranguali says 'Did you not hear a word I said? She's dangerous beyond your wildest imagination. I've seen her cut a man in half with a single swing.' He shrugs and continues, 'If by some chance you're several orders of magnitude more powerful than the other imbeciles that faced her and failed, come speak with me after you've defeated Krisz. There are [rewards] to be had for besting the Taskmistress and I've made it my business to learn all about them.' You say, 'What rewards?' If you don't have evidence of her death: Ranguali looks at you quizzically. 'You . . . have to kill her first. You realize this? Come back to me if and ONLY if you've killed Krisz and have something to show for it. Otherwise, don't waste my time.' Fur of Taskmistress Krisz If you have the Fur of Taskmistress Krisz in your inventory: Ranguali says 'Well now. I see you recovered a section of the Taskmistress's fur. She always did pride herself on the sheen of her coat.' He nods and continues, 'You can take advantage of her grooming habits by sewing together a bag from the fur. Unfortunately there's not enough here to work with. You would need four more lengths of Pristine Ixt Fur.' Combine the Fur of Taskmistress Krisz with 4 x Pristine Ixt Fur in a sewing kit or loom (no-fail combine) to produce a Braided Horsehair Handbag. Taskmistress Krisz's Head If you have Taskmistress Krisz's Head in your inventory, you see this: Ranguali says 'Yes, that is exactly what I wanted to see. The head of Taskmistress Krisz herself. There's bound to be someone out there that would reward you handsomely for this grisly trophy. She made an awful lot of enemies. Keep your eyes open.' Caridwi in Yxxta is who you want (in the Primal Caves). For information about getting past the locked door to the Primal Caves, see this quest entry. You say, 'Hail, Caridwi' Caridwi is whistling an unusual tune. As she speaks, her song continues. The overlapping effect of the music and her melodious voice is haunting. 'Greetings, ______. It's not often that someone visits me here. In fact, I can't remember the last time I saw another person. Ever since that day in the Coliseum my life has been so strange. Time has all but lost its meaning, and I see the most unusual things. Have you come to hear my [story], or would you like me to explain what the world looks like [through my eyes]?' You say, 'Through your eyes.' Caridwi says 'It's difficult to describe. Things that used to be clear to me are now non-distinct, and . . . I see visions . . . that are inexplicably real but defy all common logic. It's as if the world has changed around me. As I gaze upon you everything is a blur. I'm sorry. Please take no offense.' You say, 'What's your story?' Caridwi smiles and nods emphatically. 'It would be my pleasure to relate my story to you, ______. My passion is beautiful music and my songs bring hope to people when they need it most. I shared this gift with my fellow nihil in Riwwi and anyone else who would listen, as I share it now with you. One day the Taskmistress arrived to check on her underlings in the Coliseum. She heard my voice and slowly trotted up to me. She seemed genuinely interested in the effect my music had on the other Nihil. I remember smiling politely and singing her one of my favorite ballads, but suddenly everything went black. As far as I can tell I've been in this place ever since. What happened that day, I wonder? What became of the Taskmistress? My thoughts always return to her for some reason, as if our fates are entwined.' Give her Taskmistress Krisz's Head. She will despawn and respawn as Caridwi the Avenged on the same spot, still targeted. Caridwi the Avenged gasps. Her ghostly skin grows even more pale as she comes to grips with her fate. 'Oh my. She . . . killed me, didn't she? Krisz slew me in front of everyone I knew and loved. Her fate is entwined with mine no longer. I will sing one last song and then leave this world. Thank you for avenging me, ______. The leather choker around Krisz's neck may prove of some use to you.' You gain experience!! You gain experience!! You receive a Choker of Centaur Slaying. You say, 'Hail, Caridwi the Avenged' Caridwi the Avenged is whistling an unusual tune. Have you come to hear my [story], or would you like me to explain what the world looks like [through my eyes]?' The prompts result in the same dialogues as normal Caridwi provides. Hilt of a Snapped Blade If you have the Hilt of a Snapped Blade from Taskmistress Krisz in your inventory, you see: Ranguali grins, his eyes gleaming. 'Incredible work, ______. You did it! I wish I could have seen the look on her face when she died. Now, what you have here is half of a legendary weapon called Equifinis. All you need to do is locate the other half and reforge the blade. The hilt should merge with its missing half easily when heated over the coals of a forge.' Tip of a Snapped Blade Need dialogues. Pieces of a Snapped Blade If you have the Hilt of a Snapped Blade from Taskmistress Krisz and the Tip of a Snapped Blade from various named in Yxxta, Ranguali will congratulate you and explain how to complete the weapon (dialogues needed). This involves combining the two quest items in a forge (no-fail combine). You can no longer advance your skill from making this item. You have fashioned the items together to create something new: Equifinis. Block of Jade-flecked Clay If you have the Block of Jade-flecked Clay in your inventory: Ranguali says 'And what's this, ______? A block of special clay that you wrested from Krisz. It's magical, obviously. Even a novice potter could sculpt with the clay if they had the right sketch to work from. Hmm. Assuming you located such a sketch, it would only require water and sculpting tools to finish the job.' Combine the Block of Jade-flecked Clay, Centaur Figurine Sketch (random drop from mobs in Yxtta), Sculpting Tools and Water Flask in a Pottery Wheel to craft an Unfired Centaur Figurine (trivial 15, no-fail combine); you get the Sculpting Tools back. Combine the Unfired Centaur Figurine with a High Quality Firing Sheet in a Kiln to craft a Chiseled Jade Figurine (trivial 15, no-fail combine). You have become better at Pottery! (10) You have fashioned the items together to create something new: Unfired Centaur Figurine. You have become better at Pottery! (11) You have fashioned the items together to create something new: Chiseled Jade Figurine. Any missing dialogues in here?
