When you try to click on the door to Phara Dar's room, you see this: A seal has been placed on this door by Phara Dar. Perhaps there is a way to remove it. Vrabbit Xloren is a drake standing (flying?) next to the door. You say, 'Hail, Vrabbit Xloren' Vrabbit Xloren says 'It is amazing to find outlanders such as yourself this far into the Peak. What is your business here young one? Are you possibly here to [see Phara Dar]?' You say, 'I am here to see Phara Dar.' Vrabbit Xloren says 'Interesting, do you have business with her? This door behind me is sealed with a powerful ward, one which only Phara herself can remove. She has instructed me to assist servants of the Ring of Scale with passage into her lair, if they are loyal to us. At the very least you must be friendly with the inhabitants of this place, for you would not be here speaking to me as safely as you are. Are you a [loyal servant] of the Ring of Scale?' You say, 'I am a loyal servant of the Ring of Scale.' If your faction is insufficient, you see: Vrabbit Xloren says 'You still need to prove your loyalty to us. I do not feel we can trust you yet, outlander.' If you have high ally faction with Ring of Scale, you see this instead: Vrabbit Xloren says 'I see now, yes, you are a loyal servant. I will translocate you into my master's lair when you are [ready].' You say, 'I am ready.' Vrabbit Xloren says 'Very well.' You are translocated into Phara Dar's lair. You say, 'Hail, Phara Dar' Phara Dar says 'I am surprised to see such short-lived mortals here. One such as yourself would never dare to enter my sanctum before. Time's have changed. What is it that you want here amongst such greatness? I shall humor you if you aim to [help] me. There is something that I've been wanting to retrieve for a while now, ever since my father's death. What say you?' You say, 'I will help.' Phara Dar says 'Fine. Listen well. A shroud was given by my father to my mother months before his death. That shroud is very dear to me and I wish to have it back. My mother is still in possession of this item and I fear she will not easily hand it over. To help me, you must also help her. Go speak to her and assist her to acquire the shroud for me.' You can acquire a Shroud of the Dar Brood by aiding the Dar Brood. Give it to Phara Dar. Phara Dar says 'I can hardly believe my tired eyes. You have returned the shroud! Wait, could this mean...? Is Fraka, my brother, dead? No. I cannot believe this -- it cannot be possible. And yet it has to be for you have acquired the shroud so hastily. What a sad day. Here is what I want you to do now, and you must. I want you to seek out those who assisted in this slaying of my brother and bring me proof the he is avenged. I will not rest until I see proof. Return to me only when you have the shroud and all the proof in hand. Now leave me be!' You receive a Box of Phara Dar, a 6-slot GIANT container with the shroud in it which identifies as "An empty box." Derakor the Vindicator in Kael Drakkel drops Derakor's Heart, which identifies as "Proof for Phara Dar." A level 65 named rat in Dragon Necropolis called Whelp Kidnapper drops Frakadar's Left Eye, which identifies as "An undigested portion of a young dragon," and A Secret Letter, which identifies as "From Derakor the Vindicator." The text of the letter is as follows:
A Pulsing Black Vial is crafted in a brew barrel by combining Insanity Fangs (dropped in Plane of Torment), A Vial of Black Blood (hail Eriak in Drunder, Fortress of Zek and say "What blood?" to him), and Celestial Solvent (vendor-purchased) - trivial unknown. Combine the shroud, heart, left eye, letter, and black vial in the box to craft a non-container Box of Phara Dar, which identifies as "A filled box." Give this to Phara Dar to receive your reward. Phara Dar says 'Poor Fraka, he was only a whelp. The betrayers have paid for their crime. While this has avenged the loss of my brother, it still does not take the pain away. Here is your reward for your trouble. Should you find this reward is not fitting, I can replace it with a different one. Now, please leave my sanctum. I need time alone.' Casters get the Earring of Phara Dar and melee classes get the Ring of the Azure Sky. Exchange dialogues and alternate rewards needed. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

Please put a notice in this quest that you cannot complete this quest unless you have Tallon Zek, Vallon Zek, and Rallos Zek flags. Eriak in PoTactics will not give you the item you need to finish the quest until you're flagged. Major road block.

The end vial, Pulsing Black Vial, is not no drop. you just need someone else with the flag to get the 2 nodrop pieces for you

I loved this zone upgrade except for the fact sony screwed the true players of the game by removing IMO the coolest thing about VP. The zone outs to plane of sky, sonh, fv , and skyfire now you can only port out to skyfire baaaa
When is sony going to learn that people love knowing things about the game very few other do. They love having keys to everywhere and factions so you can be the only wood elf on your server who can sit in the warriors guild in cabilis. Or have a free port of sky for you and a few of your friends who spent hours factioning RoS faction only to find out they removed that port ... Lame sony lame

I can confirm MAX ally is not required...but just getting to ALLY is not high enough...
HIGH ALLY (but not MAX) with RoS required to obtain quest...
Warmly seems to be high enough to do the quest involving CoV faction...

I hail Eriak and go through dialogue with him, but he does nothing when I say "what blood". Anyone have any ideas? I'm flagged with both VZ and TZ by the way.
You need to have killed Vallon Zek and Tallon Zek and Rallos Zek before he will give you the blood.
You can however have a friend that has done this get the blood for you and make the combine which is dropable.

Eriak grins at you coldly. 'The twins lie bleeding at the feet of Rallos, and the halls of Drunder shiver with uncertainty. But one challenge lies before you. Face the warlord and his two injured acolytes and the power of Drunder is yours for the taking. The Warlord will not fall easily. The weapons of dark courage will not be enough, your weapons will require the power of torment to topple the Warlord.
You say, 'what weapons'
Eriak says 'Though your weapons may have been effective against the twins, they will prove of little use against the Warlord. Temper them with the Torment of Saryn and you may yet be able to cleave the armor of the warlord. Insanity is not easily manipulated though. You'll have to suspend it in the blood of zek.'
You say, 'what blood'
Eriak looks at you silently for a moment. His eyes scan from your feet up to your face and linger there, staring into your eyes. He blinks once, slowly. He then draws a dagger from his waist and throws the iron gauntlet from his left hand to the floor. The dagger drifts across his forearm, and without a sound cuts into his calloused skin. A trickle of dark blood creeps down his arm and drips into a small vial in Eriak's right hand. He hands you the vial, staring through your eyes into your soul without a word.

The above post has some very useful information but is incorrect about Vallon and Tallon Zek being enough. I just completed this quest yesterday and Eriak responded with the text: 'Eriak glares at you through blackened eyes of malice. 'Foolish, but brave I suppose. I have both the Tallon Zek and Vallon Zek flags, but no Rallos Zek flag. My brother fortunately had those flags in addition to the Rallos Zek flag, and Eriak gave him the blood with no problem. So my brother was able to make the pulsating black vial and gave it to me since it fortunately isn't no drop once you make it. The insanity fangs and blood you get from Eriak IS no drop but the resulting combine is not.

Can someone CONFIRM where these drop in Torment exactly? I've heard several different answers.
Trivial for A Pulsing Black Vial is 15.
Should you find this reward not fitting = can you exchange this for something else?

"To kill a small dragon, I have found that a pulsing black concoction also using for creating 'Black Insanity' makes it easier to sedate them long enough to slay them. Remember our agreement: For each dragon you slay I will reward you handsomely. All I require is the dragon's head for proof."

I can also attest to fact you dont need max ally, just high ally. Was doing RoS faction work and had not recieved "cant get any better" message, only "has gotten better". Was TL'd back to Phara Dar tho. A guildie was not TL'd back with ally faction, so must be high, near max.
Also, btw, was given quest text by phara.

You do not need max ally, as in "your faction cannot get any better."
After getting to the level which allowed me to do the normal quests, I killed Zlandicar and the dwarf about 10 more times which didn't max me out but allowed me to enter Phara Dar's lair and complete the quest.
Good luck to anyone who attempts this quest, the ring is great.

ok his door is locked but said it might be able to be unlocked does this quest when finished give any other text if u hail him does he give new text anything has anyone figured how to open that door.

You need max ally or higher ally then the other dragons respond to curently completed hos working on max and he wont give me the quest info past i am a loyal servent

I didnt need max ally because I was an enchanter, but I still needed to get well into ally. Mistmoore was ok for faction, but slow. Now with the revamp, Mistmoore is deadly. I found that killing the Dwarf King in Kaladim a much quicker faction leap. He spawns every 5 minutes and is equal to at least a clear of all the mobs in Mistmoore each kill. Spent a couple hours and was ally FAST. Now just wait for the quest to come out with uber loot from the Dwarf King. That kind of thing has happened before and the dwarves wont much like you anymore.

Must be terrible to be a non-planar, lower level guild now. First the uber guilds farm lower level mobs just for money. Now they have an excuse to kill em =/

Its bad enough to have to get up RoS by killing mobs in MM, but to have to raise CoV back up too? Thats just ridiculous, the only good thing about VP is the aug you get for doing the key quest, otherwise its just a huge timesink for minimal quality loot
Anyone confirm that it's faction that gives that message? I'm non-max Ally and get the message, and all the other dragons give me the quest.
