Talk to Taminoa Bialu

Taminoa Bialu may be found near Fezbin Fizzles at -35, +60, with whom you must have already completed the preflagging to accomplish this step of the quest.

You say, 'Hail, Taminoa Bialu'

Taminoa Bialu says 'Greetings. You must be one of the adventurers that Fezbin told me about. It is a pleasure to meet such a brave individual. Where are my manners? My name is Taminoa Bialu and I compile all the information from our scouts in the [city] area of Taelosia.'

You say, 'What city?'

Taminoa Bialu says 'Well, it appears the native inhabitants of Taelosia lived in a grand city once. This city is made up of four different areas named in their language. They are [Qinimi], [Riwwi], [Barindu], and [Ferubi]. Based off of early information, we believe each area had a specific purpose. I am still trying to decipher the native language to figure out what the names mean, but going off of visual information I can assume that Qinimi served as their court, Riwwi is where they held games, Barindu was a lush garden, and Ferubi was a central place of worship once. That is about the extent of my information as far as the intended purpose of each area. What they are now used for I can explain in further detail. Which area would you like to hear more about?'

You say, 'What is Ferubi?'

Taminoa Bialu says 'The area called Ferubi was once a Taelosian temple. Now it is a place that reeks of pain and suffering. The invading army has desecrated the temple and the slaves within endure unimaginable torture. Based on the information our scout Smith Rondo sent to me before his disappearance, the invaders use this area to craft weaponry and conduct strange experiments. Smith's ability to sneak in and out of places quickly made him the ideal choice for this job, but like most of our other scouts he eventually got caught trying to reveal a vital piece of information. We have confirmed that he is still alive and I need you to go find him and give him this. It is a special farstone attuned to his aura so only he can use it. Please make haste in your mission, but be careful. You are entering the lion's den and if you are caught, I cringe to think what will happen.'

You receive a Tuned Farstone. You are to attempt to give the stone to Smith Rondo as a means to get him home.

The Corruption of Smith Rondo

Smith Rondo may be found in Ferubi. Give him the farstone.

Smith Rondo says 'While I applaud your effort, I must decline. You see, since I was captured I have been altered by the beings known as ikaav. As a result, my aura has changed, making this farstone useless. I do not know what it is I am becoming, but I will not place the lives of the brotherhood in danger. I have decided to give in to the inevitable and serve these beings. Please tell Taminoa I am sorry, but this is for the best. And please give him this. As I slip deeper and deeper into insanity, I have lost my ability to articulate my thoughts on paper. This is one of my last written reports and I think Taminoa will find it quite interesting.'

You receive a Sealed Report. Head back to Taminoa and give him the report.

Taminoa Bialu says 'Ah. Glad to see you return and report that you found Smith. Let me see, what does it say here . . . oh my, I can't believe this. These beings are truly insane. This is a detailed account of the experiments the Muramites have been conducting on the natives and on Smith. If what is listed here is true, we must find out more about this. It says that this is one of two reports he wrote, so we must assume he still has the other one on him. It also says here that the weapon master has access to the mountain area that leads to a secret way into the temples where they conduct these experiments. Oh, poor Smith. As soon as he figured out what was going on he documented it, hoping that he could somehow get it back to us without them finding out. Hm . . . here at the bottom he gives details about the weapon master. Seems he only enters the Ferubi area to fix the weapons that his four elite guards use. Knowing this, I am sure we can trick him into appearing. You must return to Ferubi and find his elite guards and collect a different weapon from each of them, but remember the weapon has to be damaged. Sounds like this is pretty durable stuff they use, so it may take some time to accomplish this. Either way, once it is done I would suggest giving the pieces to Smith and asking him to help.'

Free Smith Rondo

You have to get four NO DROP weapons parts: Broken Sword Blade from Pxet Elite Blademaster, Jagged Spear Tip from Pxet Elite Spearmaster, Tarnished Knuckles from Pxet Elite Brawler, and Chipped Hammer Head from Pxet Elite Hammermaster.

Gather a raid force and give the four parts to Smith Rondo. This will attract the attention of Weapon Master Vtiink Vzaan himself. Kill him and his apprentices.

The Weapon Master can drop the following loot:
  • Aegis of Discordant Matter
  • Blade of Ornate Symbols
  • Bone Linked Collar
  • Dark Hide Belt
  • Gleaming Metal Cuffs
  • Muramite Plated Bracer
  • Soft Scale Cap
  • Veil of Forgotten Heroes
Once they're dead, Smith Rondo finally succumbs to his insanity and attacks you. Kill him as well.

After defeating him, his ghost spawns and is up for a very short period, make sure to hail right after Weapon Master's death. Hail the ghost to receive a flag to bypass the first four trials in the Sewers for zone progression. If you have completed the quest up to this point (including previous subquests), you will receive Rondo's Report. Any number of reports may be received, provided the ghost is still up and the people hailing are fully flagged thus far. You can also trigger the raid if no one is currently doing the quest. If you were not in the raid when the Weapon Master was triggered, the ghost will ignore you.

You say, 'Hail, Smith`s Spectral Memory'

You feel a chill surround your body as a voice enters your mind. 'Thank you for releasing me from an eternity of suffering. Now you must help the others on this continent whose fate I fear is much worse than mine. You must seek out Apprentice Udranda in Barindu. She can help you gain access to the temples beyond the mountain passes.'

The Finale

Turn in Rondo's Report to Taminoa Bialu. You have now finished the city scouting. You receive A Green Colored Gem Shard, which may be combined with A Glowing Socketed Crystal and Vaifan's Clockwork Gemcutter Tools in Vaifan's Experimental Sealer to craft one of four versions of A Green Hued Gemstone (melee, hybrid, caster, priest).

Smith`s Spectral Memory despawning

A note about Smith`s Spectral Memory (the hail for progress NPC) despawning very quickly after the event is completed. I've done this event 3 times recently on Mangler TLP server.

On two occasions, our kill order was Weapon Master > Smith Rondo > 4 apprentices. With this kill order the Memory remained up for several minutes after the event was completed, and we had no problems hailing for progress.

On the third occasion, our kill order was Weapon Master > 1 apprentice > Smith Rondo > 3 apprentices. With this kill order the Memory despawned almost instantly after Smith Rondo was killed. It was up for less than 5 seconds, and a lot of people missed their hail.

Conclusion: do not kill any apprentices at all until everyone has their hail.

As another poster said, the named are spawned after a certain number of mobs are killed in their room. You can exploit this by mass pulling mobs in the zone into their rooms.

You need around 20 kills to spawn a goat.

In my experience, Smith`s Spectral Memory despawned very quickly after killing Smith Rondo. Be prepared to hail for Rondo's Report and flagging very quickly.

Thanks, put in a warning for that part.

Spawning the Pxet Elites & Smith Rondo
# Jul 22 2016 at 11:44 AM Rating: Excellent

I didn't see a lot of solid information on this so I am going to relay my experiences with spawning the Pxet Elites to get the weapons you need to trigger Rondo/Weaponmaster.

From what I can tell each of the 4 elites has an invisible counter that counts up by 1 each time a creature is killed in proximity to their area. How big of an area is not clear to me as I was just generally slaughtering everything. What I can say by way of confirmation to this is that each of the 4 elites spawned in their respective rooms while I was in the midst of slaughtering a pull of 30-40 trash mobs. Now the key here is that part of that pull was the full respawn of the elite's room itself so there is no PH/named dynamic here.

Using this approach I was able to spawn and kill all 4 within about 20 minutes, most of the time involved running between their areas and waiting for trash to catch up to me to die. Happy hunting =)

Edited: Clarified title. Also i will try to post specific information on each of the elites when I have a chance.

People read and pay attention to the write-up
# Sep 02 2010 at 5:52 PM Rating: Decent
It says to give Smith Rondo the tuned farstone crystal, and if you pay attention it also says he will give it back to you because he is going insane and cannot leave, which at that point you give him the 4 pieces you get from the Pixt Elite to spawn the wep master with his cronies, which me and another Ranger duo'd this event with a chanter box because the Apprentice's can mezzed, they are just immune to root/snare. after killing the wep master you must kill Rondo in order to hail his ghost so you can get his report to turn into T.B in Abysmal. So for those who keep complaining that he doesn't gate after you give him the tuned farstone pay attention because it says he will not gate and YOU MUST KILL HIM AND WEP MASTER TO FINISH THIS STEP OF BIC! also if others in your group are also at this point in BiC all they have to do is Hail the ghost and they will also receive Rondo's Final report so you only have to kill him once. So Please read and pay attention to the write up before posting complaints about something not happening that's not suppose to happen anyway... Thank you and sorry about the rant but was just getting annoyed reading all the post's about him not gating when he's not suppose to, to begin with.

Just did Rondo with 3ppl
# Aug 18 2008 at 9:45 AM Rating: Decent

Well just attempted Rondo, was myself (80 wiz), an 80 cleric and 80 SK. We didnt realize that the Master Apprentices repop soon as you kill them so kinda spun our wheels first try, evac to try again.

Next time we pulled goat (had 2 trash adds also we couldnt clear since event was still spawned) and SK grabbed all agro.

I killed 2 trash, hit silent & arcane whisper, 7year and used staunch to burn down goat. Rondo became active but no biggie we cleared the Master apprentices then and finally Rondo.

Only tricky part is healing, our 80 cleric was awesome. I suspect a warrior or so would have made it easier but we survived.

Other notes: Master Apprentices cannot be rooted for root park.

We are all soltaris geared too...

it's amazing how horrible player submitted information is:

no he doesn't gate when you turn in the tuned farstone.

yes you can do this without BiC 1-3

yes you can MQ the weapon pieces

this event can be easily be 1 grouped with CoA+ geared ppl

killed weapon master/smith rondo with 3 solteris geared ppl (sk, rog, shm) and a cleric bot.

Ridiculous

Ok I have yet another complaint and that is why can't more than one person in a group do the turn-in for the tuned farstone since from what I read he gates once you turn it in? I mean what is the incentive of dragging other players and deprive them of their precious time to help get to a mob that takes an hour or more to get to? I give up on this quest and since I will most likely miss out the next time someone holds a Smith Rondo raid I simply cannot go since I do not have my report. Thank you SOE since I tried to solo it all the way to him and after 2 whole hours I was killed by a decapitator close to the room before his.
Ridiculous

Did this last week and he didn't gate after turning in the tuned farstone. Had six in group and each of us did the turn in.
Not fair

I think those who are in the Smith Rondo raid should be able to get Rhondo's report too since there is absolutely no incentive for doing this making it extremely difficult to find help.

How can I be so blind, lol. I think I was just frustrated at the time since I wasn't prepared when our raid did this and jumped to conclusions.
Running to Smith Rondo
# Sep 15 2006 at 5:40 PM Rating: Decent
You can run to smith rondo just did it today, with 11k unbuffed monk.
bugged?
# Aug 23 2006 at 11:46 AM Rating: Decent
We are on our 3rd clear to Rondo and everytime now when handed the Tuned stone he says he has no need of this and doesnt give the report. Everyone in group has done a /bug each trip ( spanning back weeks now since first attempt) and we still are getting the same issue. Is this bugged and other people having this problem too?

Fezbin Fizzles is listed as a BiC 4 NPC/MOB. He isn't involved in any form or fashion -- unless you include getting a new Vaifan's Experimental Sealer from him.

Also a number of the "rewards" are simply items that have a chance of dropping for you along the way -- there is no guarantee they will.

The actual reward is only the Green Hued Gemstone.

They other items should probably not be listed as BiC rewards, but should instead simply be listed as possible drops under the MOB(s) they drop from.

If I do all the parts of this step of BiC (turn the stone into Rondo and run the report back to Abysmal Sea), then kill him.... if I have started, but not finished, the previous steps of BiC, will I still get the report when I hail Rondo, or do I need to get steps 1, 2, and 3 done first?

You get the Rondo report regardless of whether you have done the first 3 steps or not. When you turn the Rondo report in to T. Bialu, you get the gem shard.

Basically, in BiC, you can do the steps in whatever order you want to. You just have to have the various crystals to get the aug. So if you do just the Ferubi step and skip the first 3 steps, you will have the crystal, but you'll be missing the other crystals that you need to make the Green Hued Gemstone augment.

So finally after months and months of wanting this part of my bic done and having no success on getting the help we finally killed it last night with 25 people! I have to say it sure seemed a lot easier then like 4 months ago when i tried lol.

Also to answer a few questions here, yes pieces to spawn him are mqable, one time i did turn in to spawn rondo and got a few of the pieces back.

You have to give smith rondo the farstone before you kill him then gate out and hand your report to taminoa bialu. You will not recieve anything in return untill you hail rondo's ghost at the end.

How i killed rondo was we cleared just outside his room, when we were gtg on buffs ect.. we pulled everything in his room and had people run in and turn in there farstones, after that they dueled someone and then got rez then looted all but one thing on corpse and gated out, ran to abysmal sea and turned in the report and rezzed again. We buffed them and waited for re pops one more time. We pulled re pops outside and then ran inside rondo's room to the left.

I turned in my weapons and 4 kyvs + weaponmaster spawned, Pull the kyv's one at a time and have someone offtank it till a chanter can mez it. One out of the 4 kyv's are un mez so you will need to offtank it. After you have the kyv's under controll pull weaponmaster, do not burn defensive or offensive on weaponmaster because this isn't the final mob. You can corner weaponmaster in the corner if you like.

After weaponmaster dies rondo will spawn where you turned the weapons into him and will rush the raid, tanks pick him up fast. Corner him if you like again and butn the hell out of him, you need defensive on him and clerics need to spam heal. After he is dead hail his ghost and gratz you on bic piece!
report from rondo
# Apr 05 2005 at 12:52 PM Rating: Decent
Is the report still needed for the quest? Just trying to see if im going to have to farm the parts again to spawn him.
Yes
# Aug 17 2004 at 1:07 AM Rating: Decent
Yes, you can turn in the Farstone without fighting/triggering the Weaponmaster. So this phase is not raid force necessary.

When you are ready to trigger the Weaponmaster, gather 50+ and turn in the four broken weapons.

Get ready for a large fight....

One person in the guild has 3 pieces, another guildie has the last piece we need. Has anyone tried to MQ the turn in to spawn weaponmaster?

All the previous times one person has looted all the weapons for turn in but getting tired of farming these pieces.

Thanks

Can you give Smith Rondo the Farstone without fighting the Weaponmaster?
