Here's the Vah Shir version:

Omtia Sami says 'Hail to you! Step right up! Step right up! You look like you could use one of the new fireworks we just got in stock! Oh, wait a minute. Are you an [adventurer]?'

You say, 'I am an adventurer.'

Omtia Sami looks you up and down. 'I knew it! I can spot an adventurer from a mile away! How would you like to win this shiny staff I'm holding? It only requires a small undertaking, you know, gathering a few trinkets for me. Nothing could be simpler and you'll soon have your very own Staff of Endless Adventures! Are you [interested]?'

You say, 'I am interested.'

Omtia Sami says 'Excellent, you seemed like a person who would enjoy a good game. Here is a bag to combine some items and a cheat-sheet to give you some hints on where to find these trinkets. Don't ask me for any more hints though. This is all you get! Once you are done, bring back the bag and you'll be rewarded nicely!'

You receive A Collector's Cheat Sheet and a 10-slot Collection Bag. The text of the cheat sheet is as follow:

1) An orb that aids humans on their dark journey through the land of Gix.
2) The framework of grotesque guardians.
3) The cause of the vilest stench on Odus.
4) To bathe safely in the flames of Ro, you'd be lucky to have this natural protection.
5) Once amphibians begin to rot, they have no need of this blithering tool.
6) The undead guard against the portal of terror with this sharp weapon.
7) A liquid hoop from the masters of the kitchen.
8) This stuffed toy will likely smell of rodent.
9) The diseased mongrel will really miss this well-kept orb.
10) A close look at this pointy object and you'll understand how the weeping began.

The ten items are as follows:

1) A Collector's Lightstone, dropped by wisps in Commonlands.
2) A Collector's Mistmoore Granite, dropped by gargoyles in Castle Mistmoore.
3) A Collector's Skunk Scent Gland, dropped by skunks in Toxxulia Forest.
4) A Collector's Fire Goblin Skin, dropped by goblins in Solusek's Eye (Sol A).
5) A Collector's Undead Froglok Tongue, dropped by undead frogloks in Lower Guk.
6) A Collector's Scythe, dropped by spectres near the entrance to the Plane of Fear in the Feerrott.
7) A Collector's Water Ring, dropped by aqua goblins in Dagnor's Cauldron.
8) A Collector's Kerran Doll, dropped by kerran villagers on Kerra Isle in Toxxulia Forest.
9) A Collector's Preserved Split Paw Eye, dropped by gnolls in South Karana.
10) A Collector's Shark Tooth, dropped by sharks in the Ocean of Tears.

Combine the ten items in your Collection Bag to craft a Sealed Collection Bag. Hand this in to the quest-giver in your hometown for one of five varieties of Staff of Endless Adventure dependent on your character's creation date (e.g., March 2000 and before yields the Nagafen version), with each year casting a different fireworks display to celebrate EverQuest's fifth anniversary!

Hm. Yes Splitpaw Lair = Infected Paw. However, for the purposes of this quest you only need to hunt gnolls in South Karana. I updated the description above, thanks.

Freego Gloob in Rathe Mtns offers this for Frogloks also. Shame they didn't change some the effects from the originals; its kinda pointless if you already have your original.

Apparently NOT dropping the Scythe in Ferrott this year. I have killed more than I care to count. I had already gotten several of the other quest items so what a waste of time! If you do try be careful wondering around the in Ocean of Tears. Those pirate skelties are bad news.

Also the sharks in OoT don't seem to be dropping the collector's shark tooth.

I've done every other piece of this quest except the collector's scythe and shark tooth.

I got a message when I went into Neriak Foreign Quarter on my level 24 Dark Elf Shadowknight today. I also completed the Coldain Pikestaff of the Steadfast, so that is up as well.

Aye, it seems to have been added back later than the others; probably it took them a little extra time to re-add the Collector's drops in zones that have been revamped, such as Kerra (now part of Toxx). On a related note, I was trying to farm shark meat in Ocean of Tears on March 24, and there were ZERO sharks at the dock on the eastern island. When I ran across one of these quest givers and realised the quest was back, I came back and found the place brimming with sharks again.

Easy,fun,hard?
# Sep 09 2004 at 9:54 PM Rating: Default
Well it was really easy I did it in a day maybe 2 hours (Note I was 50's level high or mid not low) now the hardest i think was more then just one the Heart from soluskes eye were a task to get and I dont think i ever really got it someone just /ooced it and i got it that way. The shark thing was really hard for this one reason... sight under water is horrible... I was lucky enough to have a pet that can obviously see under water I was swimming around and i could see TONS of sharks but couldnt target any anyways my pet killed it when it hit me and i looted before it fell so I suggest you try the same thing... wait.. why am I suggesting.. lol nvm :D happy trails

Just curious as if anyone else can see your reward when used other than yourself ? Everytime I clickie my firework stick noone can see it but me ? Im sure this was done to keep spamming down but geeze after all the hunting for pieces it would be nice if someone could enjoy it other than myself. Besides I would like to see the 3 other versions given at different levels.

Quest Is Over on Povar
# Apr 19 2004 at 10:12 AM Rating: Decent
Well the NPC's who give the quests are no longer avalible on Povar Server as of April 18, 2004. You'd think that SoE would send a server wide msg to annouce that the quest is almost over. I guess that would be too much to ask =/.
Congratulations to whoever got one...
*hugs his tightly*

Check your home town, if the quest giver is still there with their staff, I should assume its still active. In Halas Angey Mack (or something) can be found to the right of the dock when you zone in.
She's still there as of April 17th 5:41 AM Eastern

As of 10pm EST on Tunare Server on 4/17/04, the Scavenger Hunt is officially over. No quest NPC's to be found in Kelethin or Felwithe and no more collector's items dropping, at least not in Dagnor's.

Bums me out...I know now that it was supposed to be over with on the 15th, but we had gotten most of our items earlier today and were just lacking a couple more, the Collector's Water Ring included.

As my friend was telling me, amid his rants...."SOE can spam the heck outta me to buy the GoD expansion, but can't tell me when a timed quest is over???" Typical.

Hardest part was Mistmoore
# Apr 16 2004 at 4:31 AM Rating: Decent
I finished this quest the 15th of april.
Everyone of the items were incredibly easy to obtain, and I got most of them in 1-3 kills. With the exception of The Granite. I was in Mistmoore for 3 hours, I must have killed 60+ Gargoyles of all types, outside and inside in the castle before finally one dropped, deep inside. The only hard part about this quest, is the Fabled creatures which now roam the old school zones. I died twice during this quest to fabled creatures. once in Lower Guk, and once in Sol A. These fabled creatures hit for 900 and if they catch you unprepared, your done. Keep your eyes peeled for fabled creatures while hunting for these items. best of luck.

I just did this whole quest in about 3 hours just before the April 14th patch.

The lightstone, Skunk Gland, Scythe, Water Ring, and Shark tooth all dropped in 1-2 kills.
Froglok tongue took 6 & Mistmoore Granite took 8. Neither too bad beyond having to run thru a few zones to get to them.
SplitPaw took 20, but was still close to zone in.
The goblin Skin took about 35 and since I never explored the zone before it was a challenge finding my way back out.
The Kerran doll was the worst. I cleared the entire zone before heading south out over the water and killing one on a little boat that finally dropped it for me.
Trolls with fireworks
# Apr 10 2004 at 5:28 PM Rating: Decent
Is there any chance a Troll can get this quest? If so, where can he get it? I tried Rathe Mountains and Neriak without success...
not working 4-10-04
# Apr 10 2004 at 2:12 PM Rating: Decent
Dont bother with the gobbie camp in corner.
The roamers drop the ring ( rarest of the quest drops ) far far more than at the camp.

First get yourself a 25ish ranger as they can track and will achieve argo on the little buggers. At 59 you will see alot of ..ahead ahead ahead BEHIND BEHIND ( trackers know what I mean :)and there is no visability in the water at all, plus the new dragon hits in the 400s

Good luck on a fun quest

I just did it on April 7th, 2004. A little disappointed that it goes by character creation and not account setup date. :)
Still going?
# Apr 07 2004 at 10:13 AM Rating: Decent
Does anyone know if this quest is still up. I have been campin the Gargs in Mistmoore for last two days and nothing. It was my last piece to get. Any info would be great.
RE: Still going?
# Apr 13 2004 at 5:37 AM Rating: Decent
The gargoyle's at the entrance of Mistmoore don't seem to drop the Collector's Granite, or only very rarely. The ones in the garden and in the castle itself drop it all the time. The easiest ones to do are the two guards in the garden - get lev and lev over from the drawbridge, then pull them up onto the hillside. Without lull or harmony you'll need to be able to take several ancilles and other casters at the same time though, as they all seem to agro even when very green.

Help, kerran doll dropped off the "P" guys in city center around the dark circle pit, gnoll eye dropped off the prisoners in split paw, shark tooth dropped easily from sharks on sister isle (wherever the teleport sends ya from E FP docks), hope this helps somewhat. GL
