Upgrade Grandmaster's Trophies

The original versions of tradeskill grandmaster trophies did not summon bags. If you have one of these, Jolum in The Bazaar explains how you can upgrade it to the newer version. (All newly created trophies summon bags.)
You say, 'Hail, Jolum' Jolum says 'Hail! Nice to see ya, friend. I've got a fine selection of spankin' good spells, perhaps you'd be interested? Or maybe you'd like to learn how to [upgrade] your Grandmaster Trade items? Still yet, maybe you would like to know how to create a [Grandmaster's Medicine Bag]?' You say, 'How can I upgrade?' Jolum says 'What Grandmaster Trade item would you like to know how to upgrade? I can tell you how to upgrade your [Grandmaster Baker's Spoon], [Grandmaster Brewer's Corker], [Grandmaster Fletcher's Knife], [Grandmaster Jeweler's Eyeglass], [Grandmaster Potter's Sculpter], [Grandmaster Smith's Hammer], [Grandmaster Tailor's Needle], or your [Grandmaster Tinker's Spanner]. While you can't have more than one of the new items, they will summon a [bag] for you. Very useful for carrying heavy items about and such.' You say, 'What Grandmaster Baker's Spoon?' Jolum says 'To upgrade your Grandmaster Baker's Spoon, simply combine your old spoon in an oven with a mixing spoon and you should get a new Grandmaster Baker's Spoon in return.' Note: The old Grandmaster Baker's Spoon appears to have been written over by SOE with another item, so this portion may no longer work. Please confirm that it still works with a Dairy Spoon and provide the new dialogue, if any. You say, 'What Grandmaster Brewer's Corker?' Jolum says 'For a new and improved Grandmaster Brewer's Corker combine your old Brewer's Corker with a corking device and, voila! You have a new Grandmaster Brewer's Corker.' You say, 'What Grandmaster Fletcher's Knife?' Jolum says 'Ahh, a fletcher are you? Well in your fletching kit combine your Grandmaster Fletcher's Knife with a Fishbone Dart tool and you will have made yourself a new Grandmaster Fletcher's Knife.' You say, 'What Grandmaster Jeweler's Eyeglass?' Jolum says 'Jewelcraft is more your speed then, is it? In a jewelers kit, combine a glass shard, a silver bar, with your old Grandmaster Jeweler's Eyeglass and your old Eyeglass will be a new Eyeglass.' You say, 'What Grandmaster Potter's Sculpter?' Jolum chuckles. 'So you like to work with clay do you? Well in a kiln combine, with your Grandmaster Potter's Sculpter, a set of Sculpting Tools and you'll have a new and better Sculpter for your leisure.' You say, 'What Grandmaster Smith's Hammer?' Jolum eyes you for a moment. 'Yes, you have a blacksmith's arms. If you'd like to upgrade your Grandmaster Smith's hammer, simply bang on it in a forge with a mundane Smithy Hammer.' You say, 'What Grandmaster Tailor's Needle?' Jolum says 'Oh, so you are a tailor? Perhaps I'll see you about this hole in my robe. In the meantime, to change your Grandmaster Tailor's Needle combine it with an Embroidering Needle in your sewing kit.' You say, 'What Grandmaster Tinker's Spanner?' Jolum says 'You tinker? I happen to dabble with that a little bit myself. Well that is neither here nor there. OK made the Grandmaster's Baker' Spoon today. After reading this I thought I had to upgrade , so I had alt make ANOTHER dairy spoon. The combine did not work with GM Baker's spoon and I am thiking ..huh.. But then I noticed that the bag turn-in I had tried with Jolum had resulted in a permanent bag. So no need to upgrade spoon. Its ok though cause I have other toons that will need it for their GM Baker Spoon. Guess I shoulda read all the posts first :)

So where does one find a "mixing spoon" which Jolum says you need now to make the new trophy from the old? Nothing at all listed about a mixing spoon.

He's referring to the Dairy Spoon.

have my grandmaster jeweler eyeglass , tried with glass shard x 1 , silver bar x 1 and my grandmaster jeweler eyeglass in a jeweler kit.

Does the one you have now summon bags? If you, its already the new one.
This quest was to let people who had the old ones upgrade them, when they added the clicky effect.
They didn't just retrofit them, because the old ones were not lore, and some people had more than one.

There is a bug going around in the Trade Skills & this bug will not allow you to go over 252 in Skill. I can not Brew or bake past 252 not with my Geerlok or my Trophy? I also can not get another bag from Jolum in the Bazaar either. I have tried to get my bag for my 2nd Grandmaster & nothing. I have been reporting this bug & have been waiting now since 3-10-04 Is anyone else going through this? It wasn't until my Skill lvl was posted on the Brew Barrel & Oven with the GOD patch that I noticed this bug. So I spent all this time & pp going up in Skill & now it's not even working?:(( EQ Claims they know & are fixing this but that was weeks ago & it's still not working.

Neither of these are bugs. Tradeskills have ALWAYS been capped at 252, due to the way bits and bytes of data are coded. Long threads discussinbg this on the EQTraders message boards.
Also, you don't get one bag from Jolum PER TROPHY, you get ONE, TOTAL, EVER. Always been this way, not a bug.

Actually you can get a grandmaster bag for all the tradeskills trying checking the magelo profiles of people who have done it. unless they changed it you still can if not then it is indeed a bug.
The people who have more than one GM bag are either A) people using Fake profiles or B) had 7 NO RENT bags and one permanent bag in the profile. The GM bag you get from turning in one of the no rent ones is LORE and as such you cannot get more than one of those. Thus why people have been asking for each tradeskill to have an individual bag.
The Grandmaster's Carry-All is LORE and therefore you may have only one in possession.
He means that OLDER tradeskill trophies DIDN'T summon the "no rent" bag that you can turn in for the Lore one.... so basically the people with the older trophies now have the ability to get the trophy that summons the no rent bags. Nothing happened to your bag because, as you stated, you are already able to summon the no rent bags.

When I made my Grandmaster Jeweler's Eyeglass, I summoned a no rent bag and turned it in for the lore no-drop permanent bag, which is very nice.
But when I tried to carry out the quest ("In a jewelers kit, combine a glass shard, a silver bar, with your old Grandmaster Jeweler's Eyeglass and your old Eyeglass will be a new Eyeglass.") nothing happened.
When I made my Grandmaster Jeweler's Eyeglass, I summoned a no rent bag and turned it in for the lore no-drop permanent bag, which is very nice.

Trophies that summon bags ARE the 'new' trophies. It is no longer possible to make the 'old' trophies.
Indeed, this is not a new quest definately caught my attention. This has been available for some time now, to upgrade your grand Master Troiphy. If you made your Grandmaster trophy when it did not have a Summon Grand Master Satchel Effect this will upgrade it to one which does so you can summon the bags and get your permanent weight reduction satchel. In fact it was already on the database maybe to a lesser degree of depth right here
There are two separate quests with separate rewards, so we list them separately. In one, you exchange your old non-bag-summoning trophy for a bag-summoning trophy. However, the bag-summoning trophies only summon NO RENT bags. The second quest reward allows you to exchange one of the NO RENT summoned bags for a LORE rentable version.
