Kiki Mischiefmaker may be found in the Wayfarers camp at -710, -1580.

You say, 'Hail, Kiki Mischiefmaker'

Kiki Mischiefmaker says 'Hello hello! Quite a small camp isn't it? We must be very careful nowadays. There is some marvelous [soup] to be had however. I fear we are growing low, sooner or later someone is going to have to go out and catch some more of those strange local turtle type creatures. I think they have been labeled 'turepta'.'

You say, 'What soup?'

Kiki Mischiefmaker says 'I knew you would do well around here from the moment I saw you! How helpful. You must be very careful when hunting these creatures, or the meat can become quite bruised and inedible. If you can bring me back four succulent meats I should be able to whip up enough soup for all of us that will last some time! If you are the casting sort you may enjoy my book, I would be happy to give you a copy for your trouble.'

Give her four of Succulent Turepta Meat, a rare NO DROP item from A Turepta Cragwalker.

Kiki Mischiefmaker says 'Marvelous! This should do just fine. I can't thank you enough! Here is a copy of my book.'

You gain experience!!

turpeta ...

I got all the needed meats in one day for my 43 wizzy. It took me 2 hours in the morning to get 3 meats to drop. I had help with hubbys 70 monk whipping butt. We ran back and forth from shore to turtle pond. Later in the evening I zoned in killed the first turpeta and sure enough it dropped.

The first 3 dropped in turtle pond. Last one on shore. Watch out for the Fierce.
4 - 6 hours more reasonable

I would not expect that two hours would be a reasonable estimate for this quest. If you finish the quest in two hours then the RNG was working in your favor. Here is my experience, which I believe is more typical.

I first did this with my cleric. Very first mob dropped a succulent meat. So far, so good. A few guildies then joined me and we pulled the turtles from both sides of the river for about two hours without any drops. The second night we had a similar experience. One meat dropped right away and then we kept the turtles cleared for another 3 hours without any more drops. We called it quits and killed the druid's pet. Wouldn't you know it, it had a meat on it. Three down, one to go. Here's where fortune smiled down on me. Several hours later I zoned back into Natimbi and the zone was empty. All the turtles had been cleared by the zone in, but there was one fresh turtle corpse there. I had to wait a minute before I could loot the corpse. Not only did it have a meat on it, it also had a blue diamond. Needless to say, I was pretty pleased. Still can not figure out how the corpse got there though.

For my druid I was soloing. When I started I was halfway through level 51. I was not able the keep turtles on both sides clear until level 53, so I can not directly compare the hours camping the turtles to my experience with the cleric. Up until halfway through level 53 I still had only one meat. I did the last three yellow bubs in 53 in one session and that paid off with a second meat. I returned later that day after getting my 54 spells. I killed the four turtles on the zone-in side of the river and got one meat. Crossed the river and the second turtle on that side also dropped a meat.

As you can see, it all depends upon the random number generator. But I would suggest that it would take 4-6 hours of clearing turtles from both sides of the river to get all four drops.

2 hours

with a 59 mage 59 chanter and 63 druid it can be done in 2 hours...if you are the only one killing the turtles...all very easy kills. Just let the mage pet tank them and blow em up.When they are slowed they are extremely easy.......
how to MQ this.
# Sep 23 2004 at 12:34 PM Rating: Decent
I have one meat on my ranger how would I MQ this for my necro? my necro is only 38 so it will be a bit before he can hunt them on his own or with a group.

to MQ this item, if its for Necro, all others turn in meat ONE AT A TIME, and thn Necro turns in last one, and he will get the book. just did this with a Ranger friend, he had 2 and I had 2, worked fine...
Got This One in a Day

Had three people:

51 enchanter (me)
52 cleric
52 mage

We completely stomped the tureptas. They have about 6-7k hp, hit for 129-137 max, and were wusses once slowed. As a 51 enchanter I *can* solo these guys but it takes most of my mana bar (about 2600 mana unbuffed) to keep my pet from dying. Two of the meats dropped, and the other two were offered up to the zone (I was the only person in the zone who wanted them, woo).

I estimate we were there for about four hours altogether, but judging from some of the other messages here I think we got lucky. I'm gonna be using this book for quite some time...
Not Short, but not Hard
# Aug 28 2004 at 12:40 AM Rating: Decent
I've actually killed around 200 Turepta to get the 4 meats. Easy enough. 1% AA per kill, not a total waste for my RNG. Was doing for SHM alt. GL to all others.

P.S. Still waiting on Collar or Talisman....almost 400 Natimbi mobs down an not much to show...
did this for 27 necro
# Aug 23 2004 at 2:20 PM Rating: Default
I did this quesat for a 27 necro buddy of mine... a 56 cleric and a 57 sk went through 2 and a half casts of Kei (about 12 hours) and got about 20% xp killing the turtles. Also killed the fierce one a couple of times and dropeed 2 ceremonial stiched wraps, one iridecent turepta shell and a ton of meat. Not a bad place to hang out... except on Rallos the Curse will wait at the Magus and kill you before you screen refreshes because the lag is horrible in this zone...

Just thoughtyou would like to know

Easy solo for a 56 cleric.
Maybe Easy, But ...
# Jul 18 2004 at 9:50 AM Rating: Decent
... the Tureptas & Stonemites will social-aggro to defend each other, apparently.

The first time it happened, I was able to kill both mobs. The second time, though, the Stonemite suddenly stopped attacking my earth pet & charged me. I got poisoned with the acid, my pet got killed, & I barely managed to gate out. I had to Anull the acid to get rid of it, which (of course) killed off my remaining 2 hours of KEI. I don't know why it dropped off my pet; if it hadn't, I might have gotten both of them, but as it was, I didn't get either one.

OTOH, 3 kills in Natimbi (2 Stonemites, 1 Turepta) got me a full blue bubble of AA xp & a drop for this quest, so it wasn't a TOTAL loss, but still, it's brutal out there.
Bruised and inedible meat?
# Jul 12 2004 at 7:51 PM Rating: Decent
Anyone put any concerns in the "You must be very careful when hunting these creatures, or the meat can become quite bruised and inedible.". Does that mean we must avoir certain spell types or weapon types?
OMG!

OMG! After the GoD Re-tune, this quest is EASY!!!!!!!!!!!! The Succulent Turepta Meats drop literally on just about every other turepta. I went to natimbi to try the quest and was finished and had the book in about an hour to an two hours. And thats including the 30 minutes I spent waiting for someone to summon me out of a rock i got stuck in. Very easy quest. I suggest getting this soon before they nerf the drop rates again (Today is June 10 2004)

I'm retarded and while 2boxing with my SK/Cleric I looted 2 of them with my SK. I'm trying to get this for my Clr. so was kinda upset about my brain fart. Just wondering if anyone has tried to MQ this. Thanks.

yes it is mq able just would suggest doing an mq for it right after a server drop or some one you know has done it so you dont end up with the item on wrong toon due to some one handing in a partial

I just did the quest again for my cleric. Kiki now casts haze on you too.

And you were pretty lucky to get the 4 in 8 turtles. This took roughly another 75 turrles.
Easy
# Feb 26 2004 at 3:06 PM Rating: Decent
Got all 4 in about 8 turtles, took me about an hour. I just pulled em from the spawn point near the camp and kited em around it, no adds at all, incredibly easy.

EDIT: Kited around the camp, not the spawn point, hehe

Well my mage would spend about 2 hours a day. Took me 2 days. The first day I only had 1 drop. It was from one of the ones near the wayfarer camp. Then for the rest of the time I was there, I didnt get any.

The next day I went over to the pool where there are three of the in the water (static spawns, they do not wander). I got three in a row. *shrug*

So I would say, from what I observed and heard people talking about, they are rare enough to be somewhat of a challange; however, not so rare that it will leave you in tears.

PS. The quest can be MQ'ed.

Had 3 of them drop in about 4 hours of killing today, so fairly rare
