Though he says he's fond of the steaks, what he asks for is meats. (I guess he likes to cook them using his own special home recipe.) I gave him 4 storm giant steaks and he gave them back as not useful. Then I gave him 4 meats and got 2p 4g 3s 2c. Whee.

how much money do you get for doing the turn in?
When I did it, the reward was less than 2pp. Dunno if it's random and I just got unlucky, or if you get more the more times you do it, or if you get some new, non-cash, reward if you do it a bunch of times, but the initial payout didn't really inspire me to delve any deeper into things, especially since the NPC's turn-in text doesn't indicate that there's anything more to the quest.

Y'know, what he's really asking for is Storm Giant Steaks. Somebody ought to try that. I'd try it but I can't kill Storm Giants yet.

I had a feeling it was broken all along. The other people on the boat who ask for four of something all lead into some larger quest, but when I handed this guy the meats all he did was hand over some plat and eat them. No faction, no item returned, no new text.
If he's not taking the meats at all now, maybe the rest of what he's supposed to do or tell you is being worked on.

No faction, I got up to a couple pp total from handing him 4 meats.
I'm thinking the meat is morevaluable as a baked item then a few coin. Is there any faction for the turnin?
