Haladorf Wuirgon is located next to the Berserker Trainer.

You say, 'Hail, Haladorf Wuirgon.'

Haladorf Wuirgon says 'Welcome, If you are a young [berserker] wishing to begin your training, I can perhaps be of assistance.'

You say, 'What task?'

Haladorf Wuirgon says 'A true berserker is afraid of nothing. Prove to me that you are worthy of your final reward. Venture to the home of the gnolls, Blackburrow and find one gnoll sternum, one severed gnoll foot, one gnoll foot bones, and one giant snake rattle. Once you have these items, hand them to me.'

Hand in Gnoll Sternum, Severed Gnoll Foot, Gnoll Foot Bones and Giant Snake Rattle into him.

Haladorf Wuirgon says, 'Your rage has served you well. Take this weapon. May it help you in your future battles. Your training with me is complete. Farewell.'

You gain experience!

gnoll foot bone

I have been killing gnolls for days and have not found one foot bone. Any ideas why?
Clear favorite?

I went through alla and checked out all of the final task axes. Seems like to me that EQ picked a clear favorite with the Barbarians by giving them such great armor and a weapon. By far the set has more and better stats.

The gnoll sternum can be found on a gnoll guardsman in BlackBurrow.

Aye, I got both sternums (one for me, and after I got my weapon one for my friend with whom I MQ'ed his weapon) off gnoll guardsmen. A third one was left on the corpse. I'd estimate the drop rate as 1 in 10. The foot bones were rotting on a regular gnoll's corpse.

I've heard people say that burlies drop sternums too, but with 40+ people in BlackBurrow I didn't bother wasting my time fighting over either of the two spots(count 'em, two) where they spawn.

Turn-in bug

When I turned in my items, Haladorf said he had no use for the severed gnoll foot or the giant snake rattle, and gave them back to me along with the axe.

He does say you need them at first, so I don't know if you can do this without the foot or the rattle.

Oh, and after much gnoll blood was spilt, I finally got the sternum off the Burly Gnoll right below the Elite ledge. The foot bones I got rather quickly from I believe a patroling guard or something common like that in the bridge area.

As with any quest where there are multiple items to turn in, someone before you must have turned in these items but not all of the requested items. You came along and turned in everything thus completing the quest, so the NPC hands you back the extras. This 'feature' is what allows MQ (multi-questing). Someone can obtain harder to get no-drop items, start the turn-in and then you can finish.

Old programmers' joke: "Don't call it a bug...it's a 'feature'!"

Reward for this quest is the Axe of the Rabidwolf not bad for a newbie weapon I must say. I'll take a screenshot if the Axe and post it later.
