    You say, 'Hail, Yeril Imsin'

Yeril Imsin says 'Good day to you, ____. New Tanaan holds a wealth of knowledge and opportunities to further yourself in more ways than mere talent of the mind. If you are a craftsman of steel and armor and seek to further progress your trade, then you have come to the right place. My inventory is quite plentiful and holds the necessary elements for any blacksmith's trade. I am also willing to pay those [willing to help] me restock my supply of high quality ore.'

You say, 'I am willing to help'

Yeril Imsin says 'Excellent! Simply fill this crate with either four large bricks or four small bricks of unrefined ore from Norrath and return it to me. I will provide you with coin and refine the ore for sale to the smiths of New Tanaan.'

He hands you an Empty Ore Crate, a 4 slot container.

    Per April 19, 2017

    - Several Planes of Power era quests that were restricted to Lost Dungeons of Norrath have been changed so that they are restricted to Planes of Power. Some examples include the Restock High Quality Ore quests, the Storm Reaper Initiate Scimitar quest, and the Mace of the Stoutdeacon quest.

There is no need for him to be sold out. I still got the quest only a few seconds after he re-spawned. And I got faction and cash for the turn-ins...

Yes, but the POINT of the quest is to restock him so you can buy more ore.

Why bother to do it, if hes not out of the size you need. You'd make more pp selling the unrefined ore in the bazaar, to a smith who needs the HQ ore off the merchant.

as rotten as it might seem, since doing this quest will reset the NPC with a fresh batch of ore... it fully RESETS the NPC.

*Poof* go the saleable items that came from players selling to him.

Sell those items that are the sweat of your brow to this merchant to recoup some of your tradeskilling investment. Then, to avoid people buying your nifty items at seriously undercut prices (thanks jerk wad NPC merchants with no sense of Return on Investment), do the quest and wipe out his sales table and keep your ecomony in tact.

    Oh my! =o

    Faction?
    # Feb 03 2004 at 10:12 PM Rating: Decent
I'm assuming the point of this quest is to get better faction in PoK for better sales. I'm pretty sure, with maxed cha. you can get the same prices as best faction, and decent char. Also, how much is the cash returned? Is it worth the time? or no?

Not realy, unless you get a kick out of having everyone in PoK smiling at you. Personally I've done this quest close to thirty times, still haven't gotten a visible faction-raise... will continue when I get bored tho...

A side-note; In several other city-zones, faction is required to get or do several quests. Anyone know if this is the case with PoK? Might be interesting, seeing as this is the only known way of getting faction here..

The whole point of this mission has really nothing to due with the faction or money involved. The point is to keep people from being able to purchase unlimited amounts of high quality ores without having to do something for it. Otherwise the recipes using the high quality ore -- ie. human cultural smithing wouldnt be as hard to do. The faction increase is incredibly minor. Further, I've only gotten the quest to work if the vendor is in fact out of the high quality ore so it doesnt pay to really keep those unrefined ore bricks in your bag hoping for a bag of plat when you get back to POK. (BTW: Buying all the high quality ore up... doing the quest turn in for the pp.. then selling the items back for the usual loss is not a money winning process)

I have chained this quest 15 times or more at a point. Turn in, respawn, turn in again... So wether he is out of stock or not has no consequence what so ever...
