In the Crypt of Dalnir, the "Thistle Lumpy" will occasionally drop an unstackable, LORE Bone Chips. These can identify as either "Crusader Golin's Crushed Upper Torso" or "Crusader Golin's Crushed Lower Torso."
The "Carpet Lumpy" can drop several different iksar skulls, one of which is an Iksar Skull with Punctured Cranium, which identifies as "Golin's Skull." The Kly Overseer can drop two versions of the Shattered Crusader's Khukri, one of which identifies as "Property of Golin." When all four items are put into a Crusader's Coffin, purchasable from A Mortician in West Cabilis, you can craft a 1-charge item usable from inventory by any class that summons an iksar skeleton pet. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

So I got bored and having good faction with cabillis as a DE in order to get the lich cap I stumbled onto this quest and it does work, but the Shattered crusader khukri "property of golin" is misnamed, there is a rare shattered khukri drop thats lore does not say property of golin. To bad they were to lazy to fix the names pfft, oh well. Took a few days to gather all the components, but kind of a nifty item to have, not sure if I can use it even as a necro but still very cool lol.

As of june 29th, 2004, this quest is (still?) broken.
Into a crusader coffin, purchased from the necro-aligned merchant in cabilis. Even ask him 'what crusader coffin' and he'll mumble something about placing no fewer than 3 parts of the fallen crusader in the coffin with his weapon, closing it, and reopening it to raise the dead.
Into it goes:
'Bone chips' (Lore: Golin's crushed upper torso)
'Bone chips' (Lore: Golin's crushed lower torso)
'Iksar skull with punctured cranium' (Nodrop Lore: Golin's Skull)
'Shattered crusader khukri' (Lore: Property of Golin)

You cannot combine these items in this container type!

Quested this and got all the items today. A while back I got all the items (Property of Golin Sword) and wouldn't work. I threw all the stuff in the bank and went on my way. I came back to work on the Viscereal Dagger for the Greenmist quest and killed the Overseer for fun and looted the sword. I was so happy I didn't bother IDing it to see what it said (prolly the same thing knowing SOE) and went to the bank, threw it in the coffin, and hit the combine. I now lug along the 15 pound coffin with this poor crusader's corpse inside and am gonna cast it sometime for fun. The quest is indeed not broken, just the naming of the items. I camped that Overseer about 50 times and he dropped the same sword. The actual sword you need is an ultra rare drop, so expect to camp it a while.

when i did this it was as a necro and was able to combine are you shure you have the corect Khukri?
also i was able to use it from invantory

I farmed all the parts (verified with identify) and got a does not combine message. I'm a monk. So either this is broken, or checks class on the combine.
don't get excited non-sk folks, click the link to the reward and note that it is SK only -- bummer.
As a monk I was able to use it from inventory a few months back. Was cute being a monk and having a skeleton pet for a few minutes but very low level pet.

did the pet die in only a few minutes or is the pet like a buff and it fades after a certain amount of time?

how is it that this was figured out...seems to me that this would be linked to another quest
Check the book listing on Lucy for the items called "A Journal Entry", they all come from Dalnir and record the story of Golin and his friend Nodfod as well as give hints to this quest and the visceral dagger quest.
Excerpt from the sixth journal:
"I lost much in here. My good friend and along with him the shard which may be a piece to a larger puzzle, the khukri, Greenmist. I could never get that back. I would need to speak with the Brood and obtain a Crusader Coffin."
This leads you back to the cab necro merchants and the infomation about three crusader parts and his weapon in the coffin, and this quest.
